His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1647: Chapter 460: The Beginning and the End (Part 6)

”Anyway, if you dare to call Wang Mingyu to cause trouble, I’ll never see you again!”

Qin Mingzhu just picked up her phone to text her brother-in-law, but upon hearing Qin Mu say she wouldn’t see her again, she reluctantly put down the phone and sipped her coffee.

Seeing her finally give up, Qin Mu felt relieved. After finishing the coffee, she took her to the store. Qin Mingzhu said she was going to ”bleed her dry,” and Qin Mu wondered how she planned to do that.

It turned out, she not only picked clothes for herself but also for her parents-in-law, husband, and brother-in-law. Indeed, she bled her dry.

”Why don’t you pick two pieces for your dad as well?”

But Qin Mu, seeing her load the bags into the car trunk, asked out of curiosity.

”Uh!”

Qin Mingzhu was startled, realizing she completely forgot about her dear father.

”Dad has you, after all! I don’t need to worry about that!”

Qin Mingzhu pretended she hadn’t forgotten, explaining casually to Qin Mu.

Qin Mu was not convinced by her excuse and helped Qin Haiming pick a coat and a shirt, thinking that with so many clothes taken back for the in-laws, he would be heartbroken without one.

At noon, the two sisters had lunch at AM, not bothering to book a private room. They sat in a relatively quiet corner, listening to the sound of flowing water behind a bamboo grove.

”Is Dad spending the New Year alone at home?”

Qin Mingzhu asked her.

”Why don’t you bring him to Beijing to spend it with your family?”

Qin Mu suggested after hearing that.

”No way!”

Qin Mingzhu instinctively refused.

”Why not? He raised you for almost twenty years, and you can’t bring him home for the New Year?”

Qin Mu asked her.

”Of course not! I’m just worried Dad would feel awkward! He has a good relationship with the Mu Family, so spending New Year with them would be great!”

Qin Mingzhu cautiously told Qin Mu.

”Then don’t worry about it!”

Qin Mu said softly, not worried about the New Year arrangements, as the Mu Family patriarch wouldn’t let her father spend it alone.

Qin Mingzhu thought Qin Mu wouldn’t abandon her father and was about to relax and eat when she saw someone approaching.

”Hey hey hey, brother-in-law! Brother-in-law!”

Qin Mingzhu quietly alerted Qin Mu.

Qin Mu instinctively turned around and saw his silhouette, although obscured by bamboo, but she could recognize at a glance after being together for so many years.

”Who is that woman?”

Qin Mu didn’t speak further and signaled the curious Qin Mingzhu to stay quiet; Qin Mingzhu drank her soup with eager eyes, shifting her head because Qin Mu blocked her view, showing her intense curiosity.

”Don’t say anything yet!”

Qin Mu caught her attention with a look, and Qin Mingzhu quietly ate, intensely curious about who that woman was.

Qin Mu, though, was curious why Mu Yichen was dining alone with Anna.

——

”Didn’t expect to bump into Mr. Mu like this. Isn’t it destiny?”

After sitting down, Anna, after ordering food with Mu Yichen, looked at him and softly asked with a gracious smile.

”Maybe! A twisted fate!”

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly, uttering a few faint words.

”A twisted fate is still fate! And in movies, the more tormented a love story, the deeper the affection. It’s always the deeply affectionate and gentle main lead who fails to capture the audience’s hearts, but rather it’s the male second lead entangled with the female lead that wins them over!”

An Nan raised her glass, freshly filled by the waiter, lightly swirling it as she spoke to him.

”But life isn’t quite like the movies you shoot!”

Mu Yichen said, fixing a sharp gaze at Anna, leaning back in his chair, one hand holding the wine glass, the other casually playing with his phone.

Anna, hearing this, smiled softly, understanding Mu Yichen’s feelings for Qin Mu, kept her peace and sipped her wine lightly.

The CEO, however, maintained his posture, only lowering his eyes to find Mrs. Mu on WeChat and sent a message: ”Not planning to turn around and have a chat?”

Qin Mu and Qin Mingzhu heard a notification from the phone on the table, instinctively looking at it, and Qin Mingzhu almost screamed but managed to cover her mouth in time.
