His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1606: Chapter 449: Acting Cute (Part 3)

When they entered the living room, they saw Feng Fanghua accompanying the old man while watching military news, and Chengcheng playing with toys on the carpet beside the sofa.

When Chengcheng saw them return, he lifted his eyes briefly and then continued to focus on his activities, as if those blocks were his great achievements that required close attention.

”Grandpa! Mom! We’re back!”

Qin Mu habitually greeted them like this and then walked over to squat beside her son, looking down at the blocks her son was stacking.

Chengcheng was busy placing a piece of wooden block to an already high point, so Qin Mu helped him a bit.

”Is it cold outside?”

After Mu Yichen sat down, the old man asked.

”A little!”

Mu Yichen replied, and turned to look beside him, where Qin Mu was still with their son, refusing to come sit next to him.

”These days have been terribly cold, but yesterday Xiaobo’s wedding was warmer. Today, the sunshine is nice, but the temperature suddenly dropped again.”

Although Feng Fanghua was watching TV, her thoughts were clear.

Mu Yichen listened intently but couldn’t help glancing over at Qin Mu.

Qin Mu noticed Mu Yichen looking at her, sighed lightly, and then got up to walk over and sit beside him.

There was a bit of a mischievous smile in Mu Yichen’s deep, dark eyes as his hand gently rested on the back of the sofa behind her. Her willingness to come over showed she wasn’t that angry after all.

Qin Mu glanced at the TV, then slowly looked at him again, unable to resist smiling at him.

Mu Yichen smiled as well, though his gaze always carried a hint of mischief and unruliness.

That look seemed both like the frustration of being played and the deflation after tension, with a touch of wild energy. He raised his hand to stroke Mrs. Mu’s long hair, which made Qin Mu clear her throat softly, then turn to watch TV.

It seemed no one noticed what they were doing. Anyway, everyone was focused on their own things.

So Mu Yichen also watched TV, but he kept his arm around her shoulder, playing with her hair, his chest always open towards her.

During dinner, Huanhuan returned with her grandpa, and as soon as she entered, she ran straight inside to her mom’s arms.

Qin Mu had already prepared her embrace, though she didn’t expect Huanhuan to be so cold, and her little hands went directly inside Qin Mu’s clothes, against her warm skin.

Immediately, Qin Mu’s face changed from the chill, but because there were elders present, she restrained herself, looking at her daughter with mixed emotions of amusement and helplessness.

”Mom, are you cold?”

”What do you think?”

Qin Mu gritted her teeth, trying to stay calm.

Huanhuan giggled: ”It’s really cold, so I need Mom to warm me up!”

As she spoke, Huanhuan immediately nestled closer into Qin Mu’s embrace.

Qin Mu dared not let her go, as the little girl just came in from outside and was frozen.

Mu Yichen beside them scooped up his daughter into his arms, with Qin Mu turning to look at him. Huanhuan was startled, thinking her dad might spank her.

”Let me see!”

Mu Yichen held onto her small hands in his palms, securely cradling Huanhuan in his arms.

Huanhuan suddenly wasn’t so scared anymore because her dad’s chest was even warmer, and she comfortably sat on her dad, even looked up to give her dad a gentle kiss on the cheek in gratitude while he helped warm her hands.

Qin Mu watched from the side, feeling a bit jealous, thinking she didn’t receive a kiss even though she helped warm her up just now.

Mu Yichen also glanced at Huanhuan, his gaze involuntarily becoming tender.

Chengcheng looked up, giving his sister a disapproving glance, then continued with his task until the blocks couldn’t withstand the height anymore and suddenly collapsed.

Chengcheng’s innocent eyes were fixed on the blocks on the carpet, not too upset.

But Mu Zihao and Feng Fanghua were worried, fearing he might feel sad.

Chengcheng let out a helpless sigh, acting like a little adult, smoothly moving the box of blocks in front of him, and began placing the blocks back into the box one by one.

Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao were delighted, amazed by the boy’s orderly manner.

Mu Yichen and Qin Mu both felt a bit touched, though without much expression, especially Mu Yichen.

”I’ll help my brother!”

Huanhuan watched for a while, thinking there were too many blocks on the floor and she needed to help, so she got up and walked away from her dad’s arms.

Mu Yichen let her go, watching them pick up the blocks together, then turned to look at Qin Mu. Qin Mu didn’t look at him, just smiled lightly watching her two children.
