His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1627: Chapter 455: Beginning and End (1) Love So Persistent

”Even if I have to dig three feet into the ground, I will help you find him, but if you take a single step out of Rongcheng, don’t blame me for disregarding all these years of our relationship!”

Mu Yichen stood at the window for a long time, and later, for some unknown reason, suddenly brought up that matter with Qin Mu.

——

Qin Mu glanced at the cold back in front of the glass curtain and then at the indifferent man reflected in it. Her breathing seemed to stop suddenly.

The whole house seemed to fall into silence, although he hadn’t literally dug three feet into the ground, the ground felt as cold as if frozen for three feet deep already. She didn’t ask him why he suddenly acted that way because she remembered what always happened whenever Jian Yan was mentioned before.

Mu Yichen looked at her disbelieving face through the glass curtain with a grim expression, yet he felt the need to put the unpleasant words out there first.

Because he knew better than anyone else Jian Yan’s place in her heart, and he would never allow her to leave him for another man, even if her feelings for that man weren’t romantic.

Qin Mu had longed for his chest, for support, thinking that when he returned he would gently reassure her, telling her not to worry because with him around, all problems could be easily solved. However, his first words were like this, and she had completely forgotten about the cold, merciless Mu Yichen.

That night, she couldn’t even sleep well, dialing Jian Yan’s number several times, yet it was still turned off on the other end.

With his health condition, why would he run off without informing her?

Everyone in the world said Jian Yan loved Qin Mu the most, yet he went wandering like this without a word to her.

Mu Yichen lay by her side, knowing she hadn’t slept. Her breathing was so faint, as if she feared disturbing his rest, or maybe her mood led to a kind of restraint.

Mu Yichen sighed lightly, then turned to lie behind her, resting his forehead on her back.

He didn’t say a word; it was like an unintentional move in a dream.

Qin Mu’s body stiffened for a moment but soon relaxed because his breathing was so steady, he seemed to be asleep.

Yet she didn’t know that he wasn’t asleep; how could he rest well while she had insomnia?

Moreover, no call came from Paris either, affirming that Jian Yan indeed vanished. Jian Yan didn’t want anyone to know his whereabouts, so be it an airline or a train station, there wouldn’t be any trace left by him.

Jian Yan, that man, was the one he begged to teach Qin Mu, and now, Mu Yichen deeply regretted his past actions.

Why did he dig such a big pit for himself? Now the teacher-student bond between them was unfathomably deep, and Mu Yichen felt that Jian Yan’s departure was a major test of their marital relationship.

Mu Yichen didn’t dare to sleep for another reason, fearing that when he opened his eyes in the morning, Qin Mu would no longer be by his side.

He understood in his heart that Qin Mu could easily act impulsively.

Just like years ago, right after they received their marriage certificate, she had no sense of being a wife.

She could always distinguish between what was important and what was not, but for Mu Yichen, there was no such distinction; the only important thing was her staying by his side.

Around three in the morning, Qin Mu finally fell asleep, but in the morning, she instinctively reached for her phone as she got up.

Mu Yichen had just come out of the restroom after washing up and furrowed his brow instantly upon seeing her extreme reaction.

After checking her phone, it was empty, not a single call. Then she checked WeChat; aside from Anna, no one else had sent her a message.

When she noticed Mu Yichen, he was already by the bed, standing there with a frown for quite a while.

”How’s the design for my new clothes coming?”

He suddenly asked, his tone indifferent.

Qin Mu looked at him blankly for a moment. It was only after he spoke that she came back to her senses, withdrew her gaze, and said in a low voice, ”Hmm, almost done!”

Her voice was somewhat hoarse, and as she spoke, she lifted the quilt and slowly got out of bed to go to the restroom.

”Prepare the clothes and exchange them for news of Jian Yan!”

Mu Yichen furrowed his brows, thought for a moment, and when she passed by the foot of the bed, he spoke softly to her.

Qin Mu instinctively turned back, looking at him with a pained gaze, ”You have news of him?”

Mu Yichen didn’t respond, merely turned his head to give her a cold look, then turned to leave the room.

Qin Mu stood there wanting to ask more, but she had no strength at all. She hadn’t slept well last night, her head was pounding painfully now, plus it was her period.
