His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1615: Chapter 451: Learning Guitar? (4)

”How did you get so chubby? Your wife must be a great cook, huh?”

As soon as they got inside, Helian Hao started chatting with him.

Zhang Zhenyu chuckled shyly, ”Yeah, she’s pretty good. Lunch is ready, you guys should try it later.”

Qin Mu stood by watching him, thinking this guy was a bit cute, but there was determination in his eyes, indicating that underneath his shy exterior, he was very sure of what he wanted to do.

”Zhang Zhenyu, my college classmate. A genuine rich kid who moved here for his Cinderella.”

Helian Hao introduced him to Qin Mu.

”Hello!”

Qin Mu smiled slightly as she greeted him.

”Hello! So you’re Qin Mu! I’ve heard Helian Hao mention you several times back in school, finally meeting you in person today!”

Zhang Zhenyu was even shyer, but it didn’t stop him from speaking.

”Seems like you guys have a great relationship!”

Qin Mu thought, if they were just ordinary classmates, Helian Hao wouldn’t have mentioned her, someone living abroad, to him.

”Of course! We’re besties!”

Helian Hao patted him on the shoulder, like she would with a buddy.

”She’s usually quite serious.”

Zhang Zhenyu said, smiling at Qin Mu.

”Hey! It makes it sound like I’m not serious now!”

The three chatted for a while, and then Zhang Zhenyu showed them around the workshop, thoughtfully providing them with masks. From shaping to painting, and finally to various installations, the first few workshops had strong odors — the smell of wood, the paint — but when they reached the installation workshop, these smells diminished.

Qin Mu actually heard someone playing the guitar when she first entered the factory. It was a familiar song, though she couldn’t recall the name. When she walked to the tuning area, she was certain the sound was coming from there. She stood quietly next to the tuner, watching him finish playing an entire piece while the other tuners merely tested sounds.

Watching the tuner play beautiful music made Qin Mu’s head spin a little. She thought to herself, she’d probably never learn to play this in her lifetime.

”After this point, those that pass the sound test will be moved to the warehouse for packaging.”

Zhang Zhenyu said to them.

The two women instinctively nodded, still looking a bit bewildered.

After seeing how guitars are made, Qin Mu felt even less confident about playing one. But since she came, she had to pick one; otherwise, if Mr. Mu asked where she had been today, how would she explain?

She couldn’t let herself become a joke.

However, she didn’t get to choose a guitar first, because Zhang Zhenyu’s wife had already prepared lunch, so they went to the upstairs of the front building.

The dining table was quite retro, as was all the furniture there. After sitting down, Zhang Zhenyu’s sweet wife said, ”My cooking is average, don’t mind it, just eat a little, and in the evening we’ll take you to try our local specialties.”

”In the evening?”

Qin Mu felt a bit guilty.

”Since you’re here, I have to show you around. Don’t make me, your old classmate, lose face; we’ve been planning all morning!”

Zhang Zhenyu said while pouring red wine for the two of them.

Qin Mu wasn’t a classmate, so she didn’t decline right away. She just looked at the woman sitting next to her, Helian Hao, who hadn’t expected this either, smiling slightly, ”Haha! Actually, we were planning to return after lunch!”

”How can that be? Zhenyu says it’s rare for classmates to come visit him; if you leave like this, we’ll be sad!”

Zhang Zhenyu’s wife said, looking at him with full of affection.

Qin Mu and Helian Hao...

”After we finish eating, have some tea, and then I’ll take you to a nice place.”

Zhang Zhenyu said mysteriously.

”This tea is homemade, all natural and pollution-free, made from wild plant roots. It’s quite precious.”

Zhang Zhenyu’s wife added.

So, the two of them didn’t leave but stayed for the afternoon without getting a chance to pick a guitar yet. The warm couple really brewed them a pot of tea made from wild plant roots. The taste was a bit strange, but not too unpleasant.

Qin Mu drank a bit, and reflexively nodded when they asked if it was good. Then Zhang Zhenyu’s wife enthusiastically said, ”I’ll give you some to take home when you leave. Consider it a local specialty. You might not like it, but I hear you have elder folks in your family who enjoy rural life; they’ll definitely appreciate it.”

Qin Mu and Helian Hao seemed to understand why Zhang Zhenyu would follow this young woman to the countryside. She was so warm, so genuine, and so pure.

As they were chatting, Qin Mu’s phone rang in her bag. She took it out to check, and it was Mu Yichen. She apologized and went out to take Mr. Mu’s call.
