His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1626: Chapter 454: The Accident Came Too Quickly (Part 4)

Mu Yichen called her again to say there was a dinner engagement tonight and asked her to go home by herself. She responded with a yes, then hung up the phone.

When she got up, she leaned on the sofa and only then realized her period had started. She went to the restroom to change clothes before going home.

However, she didn’t even know how she drove back home.

She didn’t keep calling Jian Yan. If Jian Yan didn’t want to tell anyone his whereabouts, no amount of calling would help find him.

Her mind was a mess, and when she returned home, her face was pale.

Feng Fanghua knew she was on her period and seeing her like this thought it was because of that. She asked Auntie to prepare some brown sugar water for her and didn’t have her take care of the child. After dinner, she sent her upstairs.

Once the brown sugar water was ready, Feng Fanghua didn’t let Auntie carry it up, instead, she took it herself. She opened the door and didn’t see anyone on the bed, then she turned around and saw her sitting on the sofa, hands in her hair, as if in severe pain.

”What’s wrong with you? I’ve never seen you so haggard during your period!”

Feng Fanghua thought, maybe she ate something wrong while she was out alone.

”I’m fine! Mom!”

Qin Mu lifted her eyes upon hearing Feng Fanghua’s voice, smiling rather stiffly, but still managed to laugh a little and asked her not to worry.

”You don’t look fine, your husband just happened to not be home for dinner tonight, and here you are. If he comes back, he’ll think I’ve done something to you! Just drink this brown sugar water first!”

The brown sugar water in Feng Fanghua’s hand was still steaming, though her words were sharp, she was genuinely worried and concerned for her.

Qin Mu took the brown sugar water, but she really couldn’t drink it. She had a very bad feeling that she was about to lose Jian Yan.

Feng Fanghua’s eyes moved slightly, noticing the tears in Qin Mu’s eyes, and she hurriedly stood up: ”I’ll call Yichen.”

”Mom! No need!”

Qin Mu turned her head to see Feng Fanghua’s silhouette, and when Feng Fanghua looked back, she shook her head.

She didn’t want to disrupt Mu Yichen’s work engagement; Jian Yan’s departure wouldn’t be just a temporary thing.

Feng Fanghua was too worried, so she quietly went back to her room and called Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen returned in less than half an hour, and Qin Mu was still sitting on the sofa.

”What’s wrong?”

Mu Yichen asked worriedly while walking inside.

Upon hearing his voice, Qin Mu raised her eyes, thinking she was hallucinating.

”Why are you back?”

”Mom said you look pale and have a stomachache?”

Sometimes she would indeed have severe pain; Mu Yichen suspiciously asked her.

The brown sugar water on the table had already lost its warmth, Qin Mu hadn’t drunk a single sip.

She shook her head and lowered her gaze again.

”Xiao Wei called me,——”

Her voice trembled slightly.

When Mu Yichen heard the name Xiao Wei, his expression immediately turned serious. He sat beside her and asked: ”What did she say?”

”She said Jian Yan left Paris, only giving some instructions to the studio staff before disappearing completely.” Qin Mu shared nervously with him.

Mu Yichen...

”Playing hide and seek?”

Mu Yichen listened for a long time before mockingly saying these three words.

”Could it be he has a health issue? Mu Yichen, I want to go to Paris!”

Qin Mu said nervously to him.

”No way!”

Mu Yichen looked down at her, his voice cold.

”But if something has happened to him...”

”If he’s dead, I’ll let you go for his funeral!”

Mu Yichen’s words were even colder, then got up and took out his phone without saying another word to her.

Qin Mu felt her heart shatter like glass, the shards lacerating her heart with wounds.

”Help me check Jian Yan’s whereabouts, start the search from Paris!”

Once Mu Yichen’s call was connected, he immediately ordered coldly to the other end.

Hearing that he was helping her find Jian Yan, her heart wasn’t so heavy anymore, and she slowly stood up from the sofa.

”Mu Yichen...”

”Me helping you find him isn’t enough?”

Mu Yichen’s heart was particularly dissatisfied seeing her on the verge of collapse, but he couldn’t refrain from looking, knowing that if Jian Yan was really in trouble, it would leave a lifelong knot in Qin Mu’s heart.

Qin Mu nodded her head and didn’t argue with him further. She wanted to go to Paris personally to look. She thought Jian Yan might not have actually left Paris but was just hiding, wanting some peace and quiet.

Perhaps she could find him?

But why did Jian Yan suddenly disappear?

Mu Yichen’s eyes were cold, but he still walked over to her, raising a hand to grip her arm: ”Just because of Xiao Wei’s call, you end up like this? Did you cry?”

Mu Yichen’s other hand cupped half of her face. Her face had been downturned so he hadn’t seen clearly, but now Mu Yichen actually saw her eyes were red.

”Mu Yichen...”

Qin Mu hesitated to speak, wanting to tell him not to be angry with her at this moment, that she would let him vent his anger however he wanted once Jian Yan was found.

But she couldn’t get the words out, her mind was filled with thoughts of Jian Yan.

——

”Qin Mu, you once told Helian Hao, if it weren’t for me, you would choose Jian Yan,——but I tell you, even without me, you would never choose him.”

Mu Yichen stood by the window, smoking more than half a cigarette, then his cold voice pierced through the entire room.
