His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1638: Chapter 457: The Beginning and the End (Part 3)

”Who speaks about their brother-in-law like that? No matter how cold Mu Yichen is, he’s still very courteous!”

Qin Mu felt uncomfortable listening to others talk about her husband, so she couldn’t help but discuss it with Qin Mingzhu.

”Hmm! I believe that! But Mumu, are you sure there are no problems between you two? Why does it seem to me like you both have never been this formal before?”

Qin Haiming asked with concern, looking at his eldest daughter after sitting down.

”I feel the same way!”

Wang Huanyu chimed in in agreement.

”It’s normal for couples to have little disagreements. It’ll be fine in a couple of days! Don’t take it too seriously!”

Qin Mu smiled slightly and explained casually to them, as if nothing had happened.

”So there was a fight, huh? Wow! Were you the one who was mean to your brother-in-law, or was he mean to you?”

”Of course I was the one who was mean to him!”

Qin Mu immediately refuted Qin Mingzhu, who didn’t believe even a word and stared at him with big eyes.

”I’m not saying I don’t believe it, but you both have been together for so many years, what’s there to argue about? Arguing always hurts the relationship, right?”

Qin Haiming spoke softly to Qin Mu.

”Got it!”

Although Qin Mu was unhappy about being scolded, she didn’t argue back.

But Qin Mingzhu suddenly fell silent, she didn’t expect Qin Mu to be so tolerant of their father’s words; in the past, he couldn’t say a single word against her.

Although Wang Huanyu said that the relationship between Qin Mu and Qin Haiming would one day be like a normal father and daughter, Qin Mingzhu found herself filled with mixed emotions at that moment.

”Both of you, too! You both are far from me, but don’t cause trouble just because I can’t see you, especially you, Mingzhu, okay?”

When a father scolds his daughter, all she can seem to say is okay. Qin Mingzhu wanted to argue back, but the atmosphere was so good, with the whole family happily together, she longed for it so much that she just shouted, ”Okay, okay!”

Later, after Qin Haiming went to work, Qin Mingzhu dragged Qin Mu along, with Wang Huanyu driving, and the three of them went shopping together.

After walking around the mall and buying a few small things, Qin Mingzhu pulled Qin Mu aside and said, ”Qin Mu, I’m staying here for two days, let me meet Huanhuan and Chengcheng, please! Bring them out, or should I go to the Mu Family? Speaking of which, Huanyu and I haven’t visited together. As your sister and brother-in-law, why don’t we visit tomorrow night?”

Qin Mingzhu suddenly proposed.

Qin Mu...

”Don’t make more trouble for Qin Mu!”

Wang Huanyu, carrying big and small bags behind, still had the energy to remind his wife.

”Let’s go! There’s no trouble at all, really. A few days ago, Grandpa mentioned you, said you were especially mischievous as a child and misses you a lot!”

Qin Mu mentioned to Qin Mingzhu.

”Really? Let me tell you, I really didn’t like Mu Yichen when I was a kid. Back then, I liked Jing Qing, always felt Mu Yichen was wronging Jing Qing, but I really liked the old man from the Mu Family, because he was so genuine. Even though he was old, I loved listening to the things he said.”

Qin Mingzhu nostalgically recalled her childhood.

Qin Mu chuckled softly and smiled.

”Ah! It’s a pity our grandpa passed away too early, we never got to feel grandpa’s care!”

Qin Mingzhu sighed.

Qin Mu remembered when her grandfather passed away, she actually knew about it, Mu Yichen told her, but no one called her back to send him off. Later on, many grandparents who watched her grow up left, but she only heard about it from others. Eventually, she got used to it—used to being ignored, used to not being taken seriously.

Who would’ve thought that so many years later, she would come back and interact with the man who once treated her as if she had died or been exiled, like a father and daughter.

Family ties are truly a mysterious relationship.

By the time Qin Mu returned to the Mu Family home, it was already dark. Mu Zihao and Feng Fanghua had taken the two little ones to a friend’s grandson’s hundredth-day banquet. She heard that there were many children there, so Qin Mu didn’t worry, staying home to have tea and chat with the old man.

”Is that girl still as reckless as she used to be?”

The old man asked Qin Mu.

”Hmm! Probably can’t change it! Wang Huanyu spoils her a lot!”

Qin Mu nodded beside him, peeling fruit for the old man.

”It’s her innate nature, can’t be changed. But that girl is actually quite blessed, though Mumu, grandpa feels that our Yichen is the most wife-doting guy!”

The old man said this with a hint of pride. Qin Mu looked into his eyes with a light smile, not refuting, and shared the apple she sliced in half with him.

”Mumu, tell grandpa, was it Yichen who upset you this time?”

Grandpa, seeing Qin Mu always smiling and not talking about her worries, felt anxious and cautiously asked.

Mu Yichen’s footsteps had just reached the living room when he heard his grandfather asking Qin Mu’s opinion, and he unconsciously paused, his deep dark eyes lifting.
