God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 991: Chapter 987: Sudden Turn of Events!

Without the constant threat from the Celestial Demon Vine, Ozawa Miwa finally managed to slowly wake up. With Xiao Tian’s acupuncture technique temporarily alleviating a significant portion of her pain.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Ozawa Miwa is completely safe. The poison from the Heart-Breaking Fruit is still a steel sword hanging over her head, just not as urgently as the Celestial Demon Vine; instead, it accumulates slowly bit by bit.

The difference is that while the Celestial Demon Vine is powerful, its outbreaks can still be controlled and treated. However, once the Heart-Breaking Fruit’s poison reaches a certain level, it becomes unstoppable. No matter how advanced one’s medical skills are, they’ll face the outcome of being unable to save her!

With this in mind, although they successfully resolved a crisis, Xiao Tian was still unable to feel happy. The worry on his face showed no signs of diminishing.

...

Just then, a tall man dressed in black approached Sugai Yasuaki’s ear and whispered, ”The hotel brothers just reported that the woman in Mr. Xiao’s room is missing!”

”Missing?!”

Sugai Yasuaki exclaimed in surprise, shifting his gaze from the troubled Xiao Tian, becoming somewhat suspicious and uncertain.

”So many of you couldn’t keep an eye on one woman. What exactly are you doing?”

Usually not one to criticize his subordinates, Sugai Yasuaki expressed extreme dissatisfaction this time. He always believed that blaming subordinates only demonstrated poor leadership and had no effect.

But at this moment, Sugai Yasuaki was in an exceptionally irritable mood. A well-planned wedding turned into such chaos, and his fiancée even named him, saying he is not the man she wants. She even went so far as to show her resistance by attempting suicide. All of this made his cheeks feel hot, as if they were slapped repeatedly!

If it weren’t for the need to consider the bigger picture, Sugai Yasuaki would have angrily left and held a grudge, planning to retaliate tenfold or hundredfold when the time was right.

However, now there’s trouble even with someone he trusted, who he saw as his own, Xiao Tian. How could he continue to endure?

Feeling extraordinarily unlucky during this period, Sugai Yasuaki took a deep breath, forcing his mind to cool down, and asked in a low voice, ”What exactly happened? How did the hotel’s caretakers notice it? Didn’t I tell you all to knock on the door every half an hour?”

Faced with three consecutive questions, the subordinate reporting the situation hung his head in shame and explained, ”We did follow your instructions and knocked on the door every half hour. Until we discovered something was wrong, someone inside always responded, sounding exactly like her...”

Sugai Yasuaki furrowed his brows and began to ponder. If this was the case, then something seemed mysterious, but the most important thing was Xiao Tian. He must have known about this.

It’s just unclear why he did it. Was it dissatisfaction, or was he indicating that he simply had no intention of following Sugai Yasuaki? Is this his way of expressing that?

Sugai Yasuaki rubbed his eyebrows and waved his hand, saying, ”Continue.”

”Yes!”

The subordinate bowed and agreed, then continued, ”The first few times we knocked, since someone responded inside, we didn’t notice anything strange. But during meal time, when we delivered food, the response inside remained the same, saying someone was there.”

”The brother delivering the meal found it odd and knocked again, expressing his intentions, but this time there was no response; after knocking a few more times, there was still no movement, so we obtained the spare room card...”

At this point, the subordinate paused, looking very embarrassed, causing Sugai Yasuaki’s eyebrow to rise as he said impatiently, ”Continue.”

The subordinate gritted his teeth and said, ”After entering the room, we found it empty, so we quickly started searching. Finally, we found one of our security personnel in the bathroom, with their uniform taken and their mouth taped shut.”

”After freeing him, he told us he had been knocked unconscious three hours ago and woke up here.”

After finishing, the subordinate added in a small voice, ”Later, we discovered that the responses we heard earlier were prerecorded on a tape recorder on the table, and it played once every half hour; from the recorded time, it was definitely done three hours ago.”

After speaking, Sugai Yasuaki’s face turned very grim, his tone becoming as suppressed as a volcano before eruption, asking word by word, ”So, you’re saying she escaped, and you have done nothing to track her down or make any effort?”

Feeling the chilling air on the back of his neck, the subordinate shivered and quickly replied, ”Using the ID number on the uniform, we’ve locked down the target and have dispatched personnel to investigate along her escape route.”

”Locked on target?” Sugai Yasuaki scrutinized his subordinate with a dangerous expression.

”Yes.”

The subordinate hesitated for a moment, appearing quite conflicted, until he felt the chilling wind on the back of his neck intensify, he couldn’t help but say, ”Actually, it was the person who opened the car door for you when you left the hotel...”

As soon as he said this, the scene of leaving the hotel flashed in Sugai Yasuaki’s mind. The person who opened the car door had indeed looked unfit, but at the time, his focus wasn’t on her.

If he couldn’t see that everything was premeditated and planned by now, Sugai Yasuaki would indeed be quite oblivious.

The mastermind behind all this was now evident...

Suddenly turning his gaze to Xiao Tian, he saw him still squatting before Ozawa Miwa, asking something with a serious demeanor, appearing very focused.

And the middle-aged man beside him also spoke up at this time.

”Can you... save her?”

Upon hearing the word ”you,” everyone present was surprised. It seems that the ruler entrusted hope to Xiao Tian, evidently for his daughter.

The Mizuno Clan members instantly turned pale. If things continued like this and Ozawa Miwa declared she wouldn’t marry, nobody would be able to force her.

At that time, everyone would know that the Mizuno Clan was unilaterally rejected by the royal family.

Although the royal family’s reputation and credibility would suffer serious damage, in comparison, the Mizuno Clan would endure less criticism and wouldn’t face a loss of credibility, but a more important loss of authority...
