God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 971: Chapter 967: Strengths and Weaknesses Alike

Sun Miaohan and Bai Xiaoxuan both felt their previously depleted True Qi instantly replenished, and as long as they slowly assimilated it with their Cultivation Technique, they could use it as smoothly as directing their limbs.

”Miaohan, if I really win against you, will you be angry?” Bai Xiaoxuan cautiously asked Sun Miaohan, who had evaporated all the icy water from her body.

”Do you think I’d be angry?” Sun Miaohan replied with some amusement.

Without an explicit answer, Bai Xiaoxuan couldn’t help but ask again, ”Then, would you be upset?”

Seeing Bai Xiaoxuan truly concerned about this question, Sun Miaohan felt a bit relieved, but then became serious and replied, ”Xuanxuan, you must remember, this is just a competition. Since it’s a competition, you should give it your all. This is not only respect for me but also being responsible for yourself!”

”Moreover, a competition must end with a win or a loss. I hope that regardless of who loses, we can both face it lightly, treat it as just a game!”

Receiving Sun Miaohan’s clear stance, Bai Xiaoxuan felt as if a great weight had been lifted from her heart and relaxed significantly, smiling as she said, ”Okay, I will give it my all!”

After hearing Sun Miaohan’s words, both the senior figures on the balcony and the spectators below the stage couldn’t help but change their opinions of Sun Miaohan a bit—she unexpectedly acted normal for once!

Ji Dantong also nodded secretly in agreement with Sun Miaohan’s words, feeling amazed that after so many years, Sun Miaohan finally spoke sensibly...

However, the truth proved that Ji Dantong’s happiness was a bit premature.

Sun Miaohan patted Bai Xiaoxuan’s shoulder and laughed, ”Xuanxuan, don’t always consider me as someone petty-minded, okay? Winning or losing doesn’t mean much to me.”

Bai Xiaoxuan was about to nod, but couldn’t help frowning, ”Miaohan, you’re mentioning Dantong again; that’s really not good!”

Faced with Bai Xiaoxuan’s criticism, Sun Miaohan couldn’t help but laugh uncontrollably, saying while laughing, ”Xuanxuan, are you the worm inside my stomach?”

Sun Miaohan’s laughter quickly spread through the crowd, causing a burst of laughter, except Ji Dantong’s face turned a bit dark, angrily saying, ”You two are just too much! Can’t you talk without bringing me into it?”

After the laughter, everyone began rationally analyzing the upcoming second match. Objectively speaking, Chen Zhenfang’s appearance earlier seemed somewhat partial to Bai Xiaoxuan.

Because no matter how you look at it or analyze it rationally, Sun Miaohan’s situation was clearly better than Bai Xiaoxuan’s, and would naturally have an advantage in the upcoming offense and defense.

This point was based on the disparity of absolute strength, which cannot be compensated by Cultivation Techniques!

On the other hand, Bai Xiaoxuan’s initial attack also incurred some losses.

If seeing Sun Miaohan frozen and not immediately taking action during those seconds was due to Bai Xiaoxuan’s lack of determination, then the final scoring clearly wasn’t Bai Xiaoxuan’s fault.

Everyone saw clearly just now that even when Bai Xiaoxuan’s score reached three hundred and five, the soaring score showed no sign of stopping, and if the minute hadn’t ended, it might have been even higher.

How to interpret this is left to what the audience thinks.

According to the rules, as long as the damage dealt within a minute counts as part of the score, and Bai Xiaoxuan obviously landed her punch before the countdown ended, so saying that post-countdown actions shouldn’t count towards her score is indeed unreasonable.

Conversely, only counting the score within a minute seems fair, as there’s no specific standard for this scenario in the details, leaving it ambiguous whether the result is fair or unfair.

Many thought that Sun Miaohan would certainly take notice of this and try to avoid this mistake by dealing damage in advance instead of waiting till the last second like Bai Xiaoxuan.

With pros and cons for both sides, those supporting Sun Miaohan and Bai Xiaoxuan may have concerns about challenging the result, fearing that they’ll likely be rebutted and end up wasting their effort!

So no one raised an objection over this.

Aside from this, there was a shared curiosity among everyone regarding the significance of the score of three hundred and five.

Because the person responsible for arranging the venue and preparing the tools was the esteemed and famously impartial Chen Zhenfang, nobody suspected any underhandedness, but the lack of a specific benchmark left everyone unclear on the meaning of a score of three hundred and five.

What level of performance does it represent – average or moderate? Without feeling the energy fluctuations on stage, no one had an accurate gauge.

After much thought, everyone could only hope for insight from Sun Miaohan’s actions and final score as the only viable way to deduce Bai Xiaoxuan’s level.

Observing Sun Miaohan and Bai Xiaoxuan sitting cross-legged on stage, eyes slightly closed while exerting effort to convert the energy Chen Zhenfang provided into True Qi, the crowd began discussing spontaneously, with some even starting to bet on who would win the match.

However, in most people’s view, Sun Miaohan still held a greater likelihood of winning, as they were well aware of Sun Miaohan’s strength. Bai Xiaoxuan’s recent performance, while commendable, hadn’t notably shaken Sun Miaohan’s standing in their hearts.

...

On stage, Bai Xiaoxuan’s delicate face remained expressionless, with no distractions in her mind. She simply seized every moment to convert usable power into True Qi, indifferent to the occasional noise from the audience below.

Just as Sun Miaohan mentioned, as long as you give it your all, the outcome isn’t as important.

Additionally, Bai Xiaoxuan wasn’t particularly excited about the two days of outing time; for her, going out meant not knowing where to go, lacking a strong sense of competition.

In fact, the ”Power of Ten Thousand” clearly missed a word, but it was Bai Xiaoxuan’s most powerful technique she could currently deploy, consuming an extraordinary amount.

This was due to her Cultivation Technique being somewhat special, as described by the technique, once in battle mode, each character spoken carried the Power of Laws and incurred corresponding consumption.

At present, Bai Xiaoxuan can proficiently control simple True Words with minimal depletion, but the Three-Character True Words were a bit too much to bear, causing self-damage regardless of injury to the opponent once used.

And following the recent overexertion of using the Three-Character True Words, Bai Xiaoxuan felt she gained a deeper understanding and mastery of her Cultivation Technique.
