Chapter 964: Chapter 960: You’re Nowhere Near as Good as Your Cousin!

In the blink of an eye, the luxury car carrying Xiao Tian and Adison Claire stopped in front of a bar. However, since it was daytime, the bar’s front door was locked, and it wasn’t open for business.

Sugai Yishu got out of the car first, followed by Xiao Tian and Adison Claire opening the car doors one on each side. Once they got out and saw where they were parked, they were both taken aback.

Going to a bar in the middle of the day? This guy really is a bit eccentric!

Xiao Tian couldn’t help but want to laugh. Sugai Yishu was incredibly upfront, doing bad deeds without any subtlety, making it obvious at first glance.

However, it made sense. Going to a public place like a restaurant wouldn’t be as discreet as a bar that only operates at night; there wouldn’t be any worry about making too much noise and attracting attention.

Following Sugai Yishu into a small private room in the bar, Xiao Tian frowned, noticing five people already seated inside. Each of them emitted slight True Qi fluctuations, seemingly a display of strength and a warning.

Judging from the True Qi fluctuations coming from those five people, they should all be capable of perfectly concealing their True Qi. Even if there’s a slight oversight, they wouldn’t resort to such crude means of concealment.

Sugai Yishu seemed satisfied with Xiao Tian’s frown and said with a beaming smile, ”Please have a seat, both of you.”

Xiao Tian didn’t stand on ceremony. Under the gaze of the five people opposite, he casually sat on a sofa at the other end, seemingly oblivious to the tension, even wearing an inexplicable smile.

Adison Claire, on the other hand, felt as if the temperature had suddenly dropped significantly and couldn’t help but tighten her coat instinctively before sitting down next to Xiao Tian.

Before long, Sugai Yishu came over with a bottle of red wine, pouring half a glass each for Xiao Tian and Adison Claire. As he poured, he said, ”I invited Mr. Xiao over today to make a friend. How did you meet my cousin?”

Right when Sugai Yishu asked this question, Xiao Tian suddenly sensed a pressure emanating from the five people opposite. It was an unusual kind of pressure, difficult to discern unless one paid close attention.

Although Xiao Tian didn’t know precisely what this power was, he understood it was meant to apply psychological pressure related to the questioning.

But this level of pressure was child’s play to Xiao Tian, needing no intentional defense; his mental fortitude alone was enough to shrug it off.

”Just met him,” Xiao Tian replied coldly. Since Sugai Yishu was playing such little tricks, there was no need for Xiao Tian to play nice.

Sugai Yishu clearly hadn’t expected such a reply from Xiao Tian. After putting down the wine bottle, he said with a condescending look, ”Mr. Xiao seems to have quite a bit of hostility towards me?”

Looking at him, towering over as if saying, ”You should feel honored I’m speaking to you,” Xiao Tian sneered, ”Compared to Sugai Yasuaki, you’re far behind. I highly doubt you two are even related.”

Upon hearing Xiao Tian compare him to Sugai Yasuaki and openly stating that he was inferior, a ferocity glinted in Sugai Yishu’s eyes, though he seemed to think of something and suppressed his impending outburst.

Moments later, Sugai Yishu donned a gentle expression, picked up his wine glass, and raised it before Xiao Tian, ”Then please tell me exactly in what ways I fall short of Sugai Yasuaki?”

Xiao Tian also picked up his wine glass and clinked it lightly against Sugai Yishu’s, creating a crisp sound, then sniffed the glass and smiled, ”At least Sugai Yasuaki wouldn’t play these childish tricks of spiking a drink.”

With those words, Sugai Yishu’s gaze immediately turned cold. He downed the half glass of wine without savoring it, his tone icy, ”I intended to make friends with Mr. Xiao today, but it seems you won’t give me that respect?”

”Heh...” Xiao Tian let out a derisive chuckle, ”If Mr. Sugai Yishu sincerely wishes to make friends, then drink that glass of wine for me, and after that, forget friends—even becoming sworn brothers wouldn’t be a problem!”

With that, he pushed the wine glass towards Sugai Yishu, his eyes filled with ridicule, as if waiting to enjoy a good show.

In truth, when Xiao Tian discerned the effects of the poison in the glass just moments ago, he felt quite tempted to simply kill Sugai Yishu on the spot.

To put it simply, the poison Sugai Yishu put in the glass wouldn’t cause immediate death but would, unbeknownst to the victim, damage their vital organs, leaving them with lifelong disabilities at best. And they had only met twice—far from a mortal enmity.

There are two possibilities in such a situation: Xiao Tian’s current image is extremely provocative, or Sugai Yishu is simply a psychopath who retaliates mercilessly if he perceives someone has wronged him!

And Xiao Tian undoubtedly leaned towards the second possibility because if it were the first, then why hadn’t he encountered such malicious measures from others he’d met, including Sugai Yasuaki?

Xiao Tian could discern the poison in the drink so quickly, and naturally, as the one who poisoned it, Sugai Yishu would be well aware of the consequences of drinking that glass.

At this thought, Sugai Yishu’s face flushed red, then turned as black as the bottom of a pot, eventually taking on a purplish hue, the muscles on his gaunt face twitching in anger, leaving him seething uncontrollably.

”So, you’re really asking for it?” Sugai Yishu’s words were frigid as ice, prompting the five to leap to their feet, their full aura unleashed, cracking their knuckles and joints, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

Adison Claire was taken aback, feeling a cold wind gust towards her, chilling her to the bone as if she were standing at the peak of a snowy mountain, braving a relentless storm!

Xiao Tian immediately activated his Protective True Qi, enveloping both himself and the nearby Adison Claire, then hurled the wine glass towards Sugai Yishu.

However, the wine glass with half a cup of wine couldn’t withstand the surrounding pressure and shattered mid-air in a shattering ”pop,” the wine and shards splattering all around, dazzling in the dim light.

Yet none of those present had any interest in admiring this dazzling spectacle!

The shattering glass was like a war drum sounding the start of a battle. The five True Qi streams converged at once, almost instantaneously advancing towards Xiao Tian.

Xiao Tian dared not delay, instantly pulling Adison Claire aside, his gaze already filled with gravity...
