God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 965: Chapter 961: Collecting the Final Payment

Despite in Xiao Tian’s perspective, Sugai Yishu was far inferior to Sugai Yasuaki in terms of temperament, eloquence, shrewdness, and many other aspects, there was one thing undeniably better in Sugai Yishu’s favor...

And that was the combat power of those beside him!

Although Sugai Yasuaki’s bodyguards weren’t exactly pushovers, they were far inferior compared to the five in front of me.

Especially the peculiar tactic that allowed the five to stack their True Qi together, it was something Xiao Tian had never heard of before. Without fully understanding the situation, he decided not to rashly confront their moves.

In the midst of thought, a deafening roar resounded by his ears. Had it not been for the Protective True Qi of Xiao Tian, Adison Claire, an ordinary woman, would have likely had her eardrums ruptured immediately.

Despite this, Adison Claire still felt a bout of dizziness, a clear tremor came from the ground beneath her feet, resembling a sudden magnitude-eight earthquake.

Xiao Tian quickly glanced over, only to see a large hole blasted in the wall to the rear right. The entire room began shedding dust. The ceiling chandelier flickered twice before suddenly coming loose, plunging the surroundings into darkness.

Moreover, as the wall collapsed, it threw up a cloud of dust, enveloping everyone in the room the moment it appeared, turning the pitch darkness into a hazy yellow, resembling a desert storm wherein shapes and people became indistinct.

Immediately holding their breath, Xiao Tian grasped Adison Claire’s forearm, incessantly running towards the booth’s exit.

This was the perfect opportunity to escape. Should they delay any longer, Sugai Yasuaki might catch up...

Meanwhile, within the booth, Sugai Yishu and his five skilled subordinates appeared to be caught off guard.

They never expected that as swift and sudden as it was, Xiao Tian managed to evade.

Especially the afterimage left behind as Xiao Tian dodged further illustrated his sharp sense of danger and his exceptional speed and strength.

After all, that audacious attack was imbued with the power of five people, while Xiao Tian managed to dodge relying solely on his own speed. It’s clear as day who’s superior.

Moments later, five exchanged glances, regrouped, and used their explosive True Qi to disperse the dust, revealing the chaotic state of the booth.

”Now, shouldn’t you pay us the remaining amount?”

Amongst the five, the tallest one coldly interrogated Sugai Yishu.

Sugai Yishu snapped out of his stupor and scoffed, ”We agreed on capturing that kid alive. You didn’t even touch a single hair of his, and now you shamelessly want money?!”

”You must be mistaken, aren’t you?” The leader of the five’s eyes changed, ”I remember we initially agreed that us Shanchuan Five Brothers would unleash an all-out attack. We’ve completed what was required, as for the outcome, that is your concern!”

Sugai Yishu’s face instantly darkened. Ever since he witnessed Xiao Tian’s skills at that banquet, he felt a looming threat.

Initially, his influence matched Sugai Yasuaki’s. If not for Sugai Yasuaki’s engagement with royalty, the two would be evenly matched. Thus, he and Sugai Kifumi were fully focused on sabotaging this engagement.

However, Sugai Yasuaki suddenly gained an ally like Xiao Tian, leaving Sugai Yishu unable to bear it, fearing if no measures were taken quickly, the growing momentum might become unstoppable.

By then, it would be too late to attempt anything!

With this in mind, Sugai Yishu couldn’t help but scheme. Though he was keen on disrupting Sugai Yasuaki’s engagement with royalty, he dared not directly confront them.

Thus, he placed his hopes in Xiao Tian, planning to target the newcomer beside Sugai Yasuaki.

Yet, this created a dilemma... He lacked allies who could rival Xiao Tian’s caliber.

When Sugai Yishu was at his wits’ end, the Shanchuan Five Brothers appeared like a beacon, dispelling the gloom overhead, landing before him.

On one side, he had money but lacked capable allies, while the five had formidable skill yet urgently needed funds, naturally forming an alliance.

Sugai Yishu knew of the Shanchuan Five Brothers’ reputation. Individually, they might not be noteworthy, but together, they equaled a top-tier expert, akin to the Lei Tong brothers.

However, the Lei Tong brothers were naturally identical twins, while the Shanchuan Five Brothers fortuitously found a cultivation technique that brought them together.

Hiring such experts was costly, initially asking for five million US Dollars.

Sugai Yishu was shocked, even though his father Sugai Kifumi held an elder status within the Mizuno Clan, and he himself managed several businesses, five million, and in US Dollars, was not an amount readily available.

Yet, time was urgent. Sugai Yishu feared Sugai Yasuaki’s influence would expand in just two days. Missing this opportunity would mean nowhere to buy regret medicine.

Desperate yet unable to produce the funds, Sugai Yishu had to settle for a compromise: two million US Dollars for the Shanchuan Five Brothers’ full-force strike!

That was a calculated decision, not a rash impulse. Based on his calculations, if Xiao Tian was truly hit, he could manage the aftermath alone.

Either persuading Xiao Tian to join him, embedding a crucial insider next to Sugai Yasuaki would be ideal. If Xiao Tian couldn’t be swayed, then eliminating him would indirectly weaken Sugai Yasuaki’s influence.

What he didn’t expect was Xiao Tian evading the Shanchuan Five Brothers’ all-out attack, without explicit criteria based on hitting him, leading to the current dispute.

Facing the Shanchuan Five Brothers’ aggressive gaze, Sugai Yishu steeled himself, saying, ”If you catch that kid, I’ll add another million US Dollars!”

The Shanchuan Five Brothers exchanged glances, seemingly hearing the most ridiculous joke. Two million for a full-force strike, now just one million for catching the person, was he treating them as fools who couldn’t count?

Of course, this wasn’t the most pressing matter at the moment...
