Chapter 39: Chapter 37: Going Alone to the Appointment

”Xiao Tian, what happened?”

Zhang Meng noticed that Xiao Tian took a call, and his entire demeanor changed immediately.

It was the first time he’d seen Xiao Tian like this; his entire body exuded a terrifying aura, clearly suppressing overwhelming rage.

”It’s nothing, I’m going out for a bit.” With that, Xiao Tian walked back to his seat and put on his coat.

He touched his waist; the gun was there. Then he opened the drawer, inside were several knives, a gift from Xu Fei when he started at the police station, and he took them and tucked them into his waist.

Before leaving, he thought for a moment and grabbed two more coins from another drawer and put them in his pocket.

After messing with his woman multiple times, he was prepared to start a killing spree.

”Xiao Tian, are you really okay? Do you need me to go with you?” The fact that Xiao Tian’s demeanor changed and he was ready to go meant it wasn’t a minor issue, so Zhang Meng stepped up, ready to accompany Xiao Tian.

”Really, it’s nothing. You handle the disappearance case from earlier.”

Xiao Tian refused Zhang Meng, not because the kidnappers demanded he come alone, but because Xiao Tian felt that no matter who the other party was, how many people they had, or what traps they set, as long as they touched his woman, he would definitely send them to hell.

He didn’t want anyone to witness the scene of him killing people just yet.

After speaking, Xiao Tian walked out of the police station with large strides.

...

In the east of the city, near the outskirts, there used to be a factory dealing with scrap processing. Later, due to severe pollution, it was reported and shut down, leaving only a dozen dilapidated factory buildings.

Usually, from afar, looking through the broken gate and window, it was dark and eerily quiet inside.

Today, inside one of the largest factory buildings, three men dressed in black were talking.

”Boss, do you think that little cop will come alone?”

”Yeah, boss, he’s a cop; he won’t bring a team of officers, right? If he does, could we really confront them head-on?”

A bald man and a man with a scarred face asked the sunglasses-wearing man sitting on the grandmaster’s chair.

The man had a muscular build, filled with explosive energy, and upon hearing the questions, his eyes flashed.

”Based on our investigation, this guy is quite arrogant and values women highly, so since we told him to come alone, he definitely will.”

”Damn, he’s so cocky.”

”Boss, just wait; we’ll make sure he can’t act cocky anymore. We’ve set up so many people to ambush him; there’s no way he’ll return alive, hahaha.”

The insidious conversation seemed to assure their victory.

This group was the kidnappers that had taken Lin Bingxuan.

And Lin Bingxuan, with her mouth stuffed with cotton, was tied to a chair nearby, unconscious, looking as if she had been knocked out.

”Keep a close watch; as soon as that little cop arrives, report immediately,” the boss on the grandmaster’s chair shouted towards the door.

Buzz—

As soon as the words fell, they heard the distant sound of a motorcycle approaching.

”Boss, he’s here!” reported a black-clad man at the door.

Upon hearing this, the bald man and the scarred man rushed towards the door.

Outside the small path, a Harley kicked up dirt, speeding towards them.

This little cop had indeed come alone to die.

The bald man and the scarred man exchanged looks and sneered sinisterly.

Xiao Tian also saw this group.

The Harley made a swift charge.

Screech—

It stopped at the entrance.

”Yo, little cop, still acting cocky, really came alone to die.”

The bald man scanned Xiao Tian up and down, ultimately finding him unimpressive, and said disdainfully.

To the provocation from the bald man, Xiao Tian showed no reaction, asking expressionlessly, ”Where’s my person?”

”Why rush?” As he spoke, the bald man signaled to the nearby man.

Immediately, two black-clad men guarding the entrance approached and began searching Xiao Tian.

The pistol at Xiao Tian’s waist and the knives in his pocket were immediately taken away.

”Humph, I heard you’re very strong; now that I’ve taken your weapons, let’s see how cocky you are.”

The bald man smirked proudly, with the cop being disarmed, no weapons, and with hostages under their control.

To him, Xiao Tian had become a weak chicken awaiting slaughter.

This task was far too simple; the bald man was already starting to feel bored; he needed to find some amusement.

Watching the back of Xiao Tian being escorted inside, the bald man squinted his insidious eyes.

Xiao Tian was brought to the center of the factory building.

He immediately saw Lin Bingxuan tied to a chair; she hadn’t woken up yet.

Seeing Lin Bingxuan’s face filled with panic and fear in sleep, Xiao Tian felt a pang in his heart and clenched his fists.

Turning suddenly, he looked fiercely at the boss on the grandmaster’s chair and coldly asked, ”Who exactly are you people?”

The sunglasses-wearing man on the grandmaster’s chair slowly stood up, took off his glasses, and scanned Xiao Tian up and down; he was assessing Xiao Tian’s worth.

”You don’t need to care who we are; you just need to know you’ve ruined our plans multiple times, so it’s only right we come for you.”

He finished with a triumphant smile, feeling his strength was unquestionably superior to Xiao Tian’s.

Earlier, worried about Lin Bingxuan, he hadn’t paid much attention.

Seeing Lin Bingxuan unharmed and merely knocked unconscious, Xiao Tian was relieved.

Only then did he realize the group’s tone was somewhat strange, but it sounded somewhat familiar.

Listening closely, he found the accent was exactly the same as those who kidnapped Lan Qi’s son and the thieves who stole the documents last night.

So it was this group of people!

”What do you want?”

”Haha, what do we want? Don’t you know?” the man with sunglasses sneered coldly.

Suddenly, Xiao Tian felt a strong gust from behind, suddenly attacking him.

The man in sunglasses smiled even more viciously, yet the expected scene of Xiao Tian being kicked down did not occur.

Thud——

To everyone’s surprise, Xiao Tian seemed to have eyes on his back, effortlessly catching the leg of the assailant trying to kick him.

He turned his head, and it turned out to be Scarface, who had been following behind.

Scarface was incredibly fast, especially skilled at sneak attacks, and anyone else would have surely been hit.

Yet, this young police officer caught the attack in a single move, making the boss with sunglasses look visibly upset.

The sneak attack from behind was truly insidious. Xiao Tian grabbed Scarface’s leg tightly, trying to cripple him.

Scarface’s confident strike was seen through by Xiao Tian. After a moment of shock, he tried to pull his leg back, only to find Xiao Tian’s grip like a steel clamp, causing him immense pain.

”Damn it, let me go now!”

No matter how much Scarface struggled, he couldn’t break free from Xiao Tian’s grip as if held by a mighty force, causing sweat to drip from his face.

”Little cop, don’t you want your woman anymore?” the boss with sunglasses suddenly said coldly.

Turning his head, Xiao Tian saw the boss approach the unconscious Lin Bingxuan, playing with a dagger in his hand, occasionally gesturing it over her body.

Bingxuan was in their hands!

Xiao Tian narrowed his eyes, noticing that the boss with sunglasses appeared casual next to Lin Bingxuan, but had very few weaknesses, obviously trained.

Although he could guarantee to take this person down with one fierce blow, he couldn’t ensure the dagger wouldn’t touch Lin Bingxuan before he reached him.

Even a scratch was something Xiao Tian didn’t want his woman to endure.

Therefore, a direct confrontation was not an option now.

”Little cop, give up resisting, or I’ll send you to hell to meet your woman.”

Xiao Tian gritted his teeth and released Scarface’s leg.

”Damn, you dare hit my brother,” cursed the bald guy nearby, raising his leg to kick Xiao Tian heavily.

The kick was fierce, and a strong wind brushed his face.

Bang——

”Damn, you were arrogant just now! I’m going to ruin you!” Scarface recovered, delivering another heavy kick to Xiao Tian.

The direct attack carried a viciousness more intense than the prior sneak attack.

Bang——

In the middle of the scene, Xiao Tian was firmly kicked repeatedly.

The bald man and Scarface were both trained fighters, and an ordinary person would be either seriously injured or sent flying by such hits.

Yet, Xiao Tian didn’t utter a sound, standing in place, unmoved.

”Damn, so tough, I don’t believe I can’t beat you!”

Bang, bang, bang...

A few more men in black joined in, showering Xiao Tian with punches and kicks.

Every hit was savage, and each move filled with malice.

”Hahaha, little cop, this is what you get for going against us.”

The boss with sunglasses laughed maniacally and continued,

”If you beg for mercy, I can give you a quick death.”

He wanted to torture Xiao Tian’s body and destroy his spirit, using every bit of cruelty imaginable.

However, Xiao Tian made not a sound from beginning to end.

”Damn, I can’t believe you aren’t making a sound!” Scarface spat hatefully, grabbing a nearby stick and aiming it at Xiao Tian’s neck.

Bam——

The stick broke, and blood slowly trickled from the corner of Xiao Tian’s mouth, yet he still remained silent.

Scarface could only watch as Xiao Tian slowly turned his head, eyes glinting with a palpable killing intent, causing a chill to run through him.

”Hmm~”

At this moment, a sigh came from Lin Bingxuan’s lips as she slowly woke up.

Upon opening her eyes and understanding the situation, especially seeing Xiao Tian being pummeled by a group of thugs, she cried out in shock and sorrow, ”Xiao Tian!”

She turned her fiery gaze upon the bald guy and Scarface, beautiful eyes filled with fury, ”What are you doing! Stop it!!”

Seeing Xiao Tian being hit, Lin Bingxuan was infuriated; her commanding voice carried the authority of a CEO.

The bald guy, Scarface, and the group of thugs all paused.

Even the ruthless boss with sunglasses ceased his smirk for a moment.

Hearing Lin Bingxuan speak, Xiao Tian laboriously turned his head, giving her a reassuring smile.

”Xiao Tian, why are you so foolish, why come here alone?” Lin Bingxuan’s eyes immediately turned red upon seeing Xiao Tian holding on.

”I’m okay.” Xiao Tian comforted Lin Bingxuan, stood up in a burst, and suddenly grabbed a stick aimed at him.

With a cold gaze towards the boss with sunglasses, he said, ”You can take my life, but let her go first.”

Xiao Tian was waiting for Lin Bingxuan to wake up, tolerating the beating; now that she was awake, he could counterattack once she was gone.

”Hahaha, what if I refuse?” The man with sunglasses, believing victory was assured, wouldn’t listen to Xiao Tian.

Xiao Tian responded word by word, ”Then all of you will end up like this stick.”

Snap——
