God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 24: Chapter 22: Be Careful

”Bingxuan! Our police department is planning to take action against the people at Long Pavilion soon. Being with me, a policeman, I’m sure to offend some unsavory individuals. Plus, with how beautiful you are, you’ll need to arrange for someone to protect you at all times.”

Xiao Tian’s face turned serious, showing no hint of a joke.

Previously, Lin Bingxuan had a bodyguard, but she had later dismissed him.

At this moment, Lin Bingxuan frowned slightly. To be honest, she didn’t like having someone follow her, even though it was for her protection.

She was a very strong-willed woman and felt that it seemed like a loss of freedom. So, she pouted and clung to Xiao Tian’s arm coquettishly, saying:

”Don’t I still have you? I believe you’ll be the first to show up to protect me if there’s danger.”

Gone was the Lin Bingxuan who dominated the business world; now she was just a genuine little woman.

Xiao Tian seemed a bit stunned, as if he was seeing a scene from many years ago appear in his eyes again.

The same beautiful face, the same unreserved trust in him, but that beautiful person had become a permanent pain in Xiao Tian’s heart.

”Han Yan, there’s now a woman just like you, and this time I won’t let the same thing happen again,” Xiao Tian’s face showed a slight emotion.

Even though he hadn’t known Lin Bingxuan for long, she was Xiao Tian’s first woman, giving her an irreplaceably high status.

Moreover, Xiao Tian wanted Lin Bingxuan to get a bodyguard not because he expected the guard to protect her well, but just to buy some time so he could rush over and prevent any tragedy.

”I know, after all, I can’t be with you at every moment. Having a bodyguard gives me some peace of mind.” Xiao Tian looked at Lin Bingxuan with a hint of indulgence.

Lin Bingxuan seemed somewhat reluctant hearing Xiao Tian’s words, but before she could say anything, Xiao Tian didn’t give her the chance to speak.

He simply pulled Lin Bingxuan into his arms and whispered gently into her ear, ”Bingxuan, be good, or I’ll spank you!”

Suddenly being held by Xiao Tian, Lin Bingxuan was slightly surprised, but she didn’t resist.

After all, having already been intimate with Xiao Tian, feeling his warm body nearly melted her entire being.

She hugged Xiao Tian back, caressing his firm waist, a huge sense of security filling her heart. At the same time, a warm breath blew into her ear canal.

That tingly sensation made her go limp in Xiao Tian’s arms.

Holding such a beauty, Xiao Tian was overjoyed internally, feeling like he wanted to howl at the sky, though he held back since it didn’t seem appropriate.

”Alright! I’ll listen to you and find someone right away. Does that make you feel better?” Lin Bingxuan no longer insisted on her own ideas, knowing this was the right decision even if she didn’t like the feeling.

Meanwhile, Lin Bingxuan’s eyes had become slightly unfocused, her bright red lips moving increasingly closer to Xiao Tian.

”No way! This is her company, after all!” Feeling Lin Bingxuan’s bold initiative, Xiao Tian suddenly felt excited, but also a bit confused.

Even though he had already been with Lin Bingxuan, it had been under the influence of alcohol, and he hadn’t thought too much about it then.

In reality, he was a rather shy person. At this moment, Lin Bingxuan had already closed her eyes, tilting her head with a look of surrender.

Seeing her captivating expression, Xiao Tian’s sense of being at a loss vanished completely. He was entirely at ease.

This was his woman, so why feel embarrassed? Xiao Tian chuckled self-deprecatingly and was about to kiss her when...

”Click”

The office door was pushed open from outside.

”President Lin, a few emergency files still need your signature. Several clients just stopped by to urge you. Can you...?” He pushed open the office door as usual.

He, being Lin Bingxuan’s personal secretary, was given the privilege of entering without knocking, showing the great trust Lin Bingxuan placed in him.

Upon entering the office, He could see the scene inside the lounge clearly.

He froze at the doorway, unconsciously covering his slightly surprised mouth with the folder in his hand.

His eyes widened, staring at Lin Bingxuan nestled in Xiao Tian’s arms.

At this moment, Lin Bingxuan hadn’t expected He to burst in, and quickly opened her eyes, looking at Xiao Tian so close, her face turned bright red in an instant.

Xiao Tian also smiled wryly, thinking, ”This He really has bad timing! Just when I had resolved my inner struggle, she barged in.”

Lin Bingxuan realized she was still in Xiao Tian’s arms, instinctively jumping out as if propelled by her reflexes.

”What did I just see? Is that still the icy boss we knew?” His eyes seemed about to pop out.

Even though he had vaguely guessed about a potential relationship between President Lin and Xiao Tian downstairs, it had only been speculation.

Now that she’s truly witnessed it, Xiao He can’t help but feel like her worldview has been completely overturned.

”Is there anything else?” Lin Bingxuan straightened her posture. Although she knew that the image she had built for years was probably irreparable, she didn’t feel any regret.

Although she was indeed a strong woman, she was still a woman after all. Lin Bingxuan glared at Xiao He.

”Nothing else, President Lin.” Xiao He felt intimidated by Lin Bingxuan’s gaze and shrunk back, speaking timidly.

Lin Bingxuan saw Xiao He playing pitiful and didn’t mean to blame her: ”If that’s it, then go out first! I’ll call you when I’ve signed everything!”

”Yes!” Xiao He replied respectfully. She was about to leave the office, but at that moment, Lin Bingxuan called out to her again.

”Xiao He! Today you’re going to help me find a bodyguard.” Clearly, Lin Bingxuan wouldn’t personally look for a bodyguard, so she naturally entrusted Xiao He with full responsibility.

Upon hearing that Lin Bingxuan wanted a bodyguard, Xiao He was even more surprised. The entire company knew that Lin Bingxuan disliked bodyguards.

And she didn’t know how many times she had advised Lin Bingxuan to have a bodyguard. Not only was she the executive chairman of Lin Group, but also one of Shanghai’s four beauties.

With such a status, how could she be without a bodyguard!

The last bodyguard they finally hired was dismissed by Lin Bingxuan shortly after.

So upon hearing that Lin Bingxuan wanted to find a bodyguard, Xiao He was even more enthusiastic than Lin Bingxuan herself.

”Really? Then I’ll go find one for you, President Lin.” After saying that, Xiao He dashed out of the office as if afraid Lin Bingxuan might change her mind.

Just as Xiao He reached the office door, she stopped, then said to Xiao Tian:

”Thank you for convincing President Lin.” Without caring whether Xiao Tian understood, she ran out.

At this moment, upon hearing Xiao He’s words, Xiao Tian was utterly confused. He looked at Lin Bingxuan with puzzlement: ”Why is she thanking me?”

”Xiao He’s always been persuading me to get a bodyguard, but I never did.

Maybe she noticed my sudden change of heart and thought it was because you persuaded me!” Lin Bingxuan explained, seeing the confusion on Xiao Tian’s face.

As it turned out, Xiao He was brought into the company by Lin Bingxuan two years ago during a business trip from a small town. She had been a working girl who couldn’t find a job and was crying on the street.

Feeling sorry for her, Lin Bingxuan brought her along, so in Xiao He’s heart, Lin Bingxuan was not only her boss but also like family.

After hearing this, Xiao Tian nodded: ”Alright then! Since you’re busy and safe at the company, I should leave now.”

Upon hearing Xiao Tian say he was leaving, Lin Bingxuan felt a tinge of reluctance, but she wasn’t a clingy woman. She proactively walked over to Xiao Tian and helped straighten his collar: ”Then go on!”

Feeling Lin Bingxuan’s deep affection for him, Xiao Tian cupped her face with both hands and kissed her heavily on the lips. He then gracefully exited her office.

After leaving Lin Bingxuan’s company, Xiao Tian hailed a taxi and headed straight to the Shanghai City Police Headquarters.

He took out his phone and dialed Bai Tao’s number.

”Hey! Xiao Tian, what’s up?” At this moment, Bai Tao was sitting in his office chair and recognized the call from Xiao Tian.

”Director Bai, where are you now?” Xiao Tian asked directly.

”I’m right here at the city bureau; why, did something happen?” Having been a police officer for so many years, even though he hadn’t worked in the field for a long time, Bai Tao was still keenly aware that something seemed to have happened.

Xiao Tian didn’t say much: ”I’m on my way now, and I’ll discuss something with you later.”

After saying that, he hung up the phone straight away.

Ten minutes later, Xiao Tian arrived at the city bureau. This was actually his second time at the headquarters, with the first being when he reported for duty.

”Xiao Tian, did something happen?” Seeing Xiao Tian walk in with a serious expression, Bai Tao sensed something was off and quickly asked.

So Xiao Tian detailed the events of the day to Bai Tao.

”Bang!”

After hearing Xiao Tian’s account, Bai Tao slammed his fist onto the office desk: ”That damned Long Pavilion is getting more arrogant and lawless by the day.”

Xiao Tian watched Bai Tao’s intense reaction but didn’t utter a word, waiting to see what Bai Tao would decide.

At this moment, if Bai Tao still remained inactive, Xiao Tian would be utterly disappointed in this director and political law committee member.

It seemed Bai Tao understood the meaning in Xiao Tian’s eyes and immediately made a decision in his heart:

”Xiao Tian, we’ve long wanted to remove the Long Pavilion from our city bureau, but we never knew how to proceed.”
