Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

After speaking, he sat down on the metal chair, closed his eyes, and quietly waited for the arrival of death.

The group of technicians felt a bitter taste upon hearing this command, knowing that Didan, the person with the highest authority among the Kebi Race, had also given up meaningless struggles.

This meant that they no longer had any hope of survival.

Although everyone knew they were going to die, they also knew that Didan’s orders were absolutely accurate.

They could not let the Star Lords on Kebi Star die without understanding the situation.

Nor could they let Kebi Star be destroyed without other clansmen outside being aware.

Therefore, none of these technicians spoke, but quickly busied themselves with their current tasks.

They must race against time to complete these two tasks within the next three minutes of Kebi Star time.

...

Southern Hemisphere of Kebi Star.

Luoxi was a girl with the aspiration to become a ”star.”

This year, she had just turned thirty, which for the Kebi Race signifies just coming of age.

Luoxi dressed herself beautifully.

She had just arrived at the venue of a singing competition being held in the state.

Here, there were many young Kebi men and women of similar age.

Originally, everyone was discussing which star judge they might see later.

Suddenly, a piercing and jarring alarm sounded throughout the city.

Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!

The alarm sounded five times consecutively, then repeated.

”What’s going on?”

”Did I hear correctly? Is it a five-siren air raid alarm?”

”A three-siren alarm is a red alert, four-siren indicates a Milky Way Galaxy crisis, could five-siren mean a cosmic war?”

A group of young Kebi people were all startled by the alarm sound.

Luoxi’s eyes widened involuntarily, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably.

The five-siren air raid alarm had only occurred once in the history of the Kebi Race, as clearly stated in the history books.

Luoxi vividly remembered this history; it was said to have occurred 3.6 million years ago when the Kebi Race had just entered the stellar civilization. At that time, an iron-based lifeform, like a giant dragon, suddenly intruded into the Milky Way Galaxy and was very close to Kebi Star, so a five-siren alarm was issued, signaling that the Kebi Race could face extinction at any moment.

Now, after 3.6 million years, Kebi Star was ringing with a five-siren air raid alarm again?

Luoxi knew that it must be a critical moment for the race, otherwise this kind of alarm wouldn’t be issued by the authorities.

She was terribly frightened, yet she hoped it was a mistake by the officials.

Perhaps it was supposed to be a three-siren or four-siren air raid alarm, but the staff accidentally set it to five sirens.

Many present shared the same hope as Luoxi, and they were all praying.

Unfortunately for them, their prayers were in vain, and they were met with even worse news.

A voice from a middle-aged male of the Kebi Race suddenly reverberated above the city, ”I am the governor of Lola Rock State. Here, I must announce to everyone the bad news: In two and a half minutes, a powerful antimatter missile will arrive on our planet, and we will all be destroyed. Please make your preparations.”

What?

In two and a half minutes, a powerful antimatter missile will strike Kebi Star?

Luoxi and the thousands of young Kebi men and women present, along with the staff, all turned deathly pale with fear.

They certainly knew how terrifying an antimatter missile was.

If they had to describe it, the deterrence of an antimatter bomb among these advanced civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy is akin to nuclear bombs on Earth, and even more menacing.

On Earth, if a nuclear bomb is launched, there are ways to intercept it, but antimatter missiles cannot be intercepted. If intercepted, the antimatter would prematurely spill out, colliding with positive matter, unleashing horrific power.

This is why Earth civilizations can study antihydrogen atoms, but many level-two civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy do not allow the study of antimatter weapons.

This thing is simply too terrifying.

It’s so terrifying that no interception methods are effective.

Most importantly, its power is unimaginably vast.

Is it uncontrollable?

No matter what, Luoxi and all the young Kebi men and women present, or rather everyone in the state, or even the entire Kebi Star population, felt horrified upon hearing this news.

They realized that the end was near!

...

”It’s over!”

”Our Kebi Star is doomed!”

”Antimatter missiles can’t be intercepted. Are we really going to be destroyed?”

”Boohoo, I don’t want to die. I’m only thirty-two and haven’t even been in love yet.”

”Only two and a half minutes? I can’t even make it back to reunite with my wife and kids, it’s so hateful!”

”Boohoo, I beg the gods to save us Kebi people.”

”Great Creator, I really want to die, please save me!”

The entire Kebi Star was in chaos.

Some people were utterly shocked by the news and hadn’t collected themselves.

Others, who had come to their senses, exhibited various reactions.

Some cried aloud.

Some prayed to the Creator for salvation.

Similar situations spread across the entire Kebi Star.

It also included many Star Lords in the Holy Hall.

...

Holy Hall.

A group of Star Lords had just received the notification, and they were first startled, then showed signs of fear, becoming frantic.

”What? An antimatter bomb?”
