Eternal Thief

After Damien admitted his identity, Brittny’s eyes narrowed dangerously, especially when she noticed how calm he seemed, as if he had no fear or worry about the consequences.

However, this also made Brittny suspicious because if Damien was really guilty or had any kind of association with Sky Stealer, he would’ve shown some kind of reaction, and with her entire focus on him, she would’ve instantly captured it.

But she didn’t notice anything, surprising her. Although Damien’s cultivation appeared to be an Ascension Grand General, Brittny felt it wasn’t so simple.

Moreover, when she considered the Sky Stealer’s mysterious means and with their investigation so far, Sky Stealer was far more mysterious than initially thought because of that owl symbol he left behind.

When they tried various techniques on that owl symbol, they discovered that not only was the owl symbol impossible to get rid of, whether on inanimate or animate objects, but if someone tried to use divination or tracking spells on it, they would suffer terrible backlashes.

The more powerful a spell, the more terrible the backlash, and the bank even lost a very powerful divination expert because of it before they realized how terrifying that owl symbol was.

After this discovery, finding Sky Stealer became more about getting his secrets than punishing him, and many higher-ups in the bank were paying attention to this matter.

That’s why someone like Brittny, who has an even higher status than Norman, was assigned to this task because of her special bloodline and race. But Brittny was unaware of this fact because this matter regarding Sky Stealer was a secret among higher-ups.

Even Ace, who had ‘encountered’ the Sky Stealer, has unknowingly become the target of these people without his knowledge.

As for Emmie, Brittny never paid her any heed since she was just an Ascension Warrior in her eyes and thought little of her.

“Since you dare to admit it, tell me, who and where is Sky Stealer?” Brittny coldly asked as she released her spiritual pressure on Damien.

Damien remained completely unaffected by Brittny’s spiritual pressure. He pulled a charming smile as he replied, “Senior, may I ask how do you come to this conclusion that I’m an accomplice of Sky Stealer?”

Brittny coldly replied, “All I can tell you is that this information is very credible, and there is no chance it’s a lie. Now, are you going to surrender peacefully, or do you want me to drag you back myself?”

Although Brittny was fascinated by Damien, she wasn’t going to go easy on him just because of that strange feeling she got from him. Since she was only taking instead of using force, it was already a great deal of tolerance for her.

After all, it took her quite some time to track him down since he was hiding in this remote corner. However, not many people dare use names like ‘Heaven’s Advocate’ and ‘Heavenly Justice Court, so she quickly found Damien. Apparently, he had gathered quite a few enemies while establishing the Heavenly Justice Court.

Even a local Quasi-Second Grade Sect was wary of Heavenly Justice Court’s founder, Heaven’s Advocate, because, according to information, Damien was a conman who could use his mouth to bewitch others and make them loyal to him.

Damien sighed when he saw Brittny a little affected by his holy aura, which had been granted to him by his backer. However, she was still showing some restraint, which was good news for him.

However, he didn’t want things to escalate and implicate this place, which he had worked so hard to build.

He said calmly, “Please calm down, senior. If I had a guilty conscience, I wouldn’t be taking with you here right now. But since I’m here, at least give me a chance to make my case. After all, Justice is my faith, and if I’m guilty, I won’t run away from the judgment. But quick justice is crook justice. True justice is impartial and absolute!” Brittny’s eyes narrowed as she felt a profound power behind Damien’s words. The moment he talked about justice, his entire demeanor became solemn and mystical. “Don’t try to twist words; it won’t work on me.” She retorted coldly as her aura flared. “I’ve heard all about you. Apparently, you like to play the Judge and impose your justice on others. But in the end, you are nothing but a conman with a slick tongue.”

Damien sighed again as he shook his head in disappointment. “Only Heaven is the Judge of us all. Even laws abide by Heaven’s will, and they are absolute. As a cultivator, you know about this fact more clearly than a mortal. I’m nothing but a mere Advocate of Heaven who is sent here to impose its justice.”

Damien’s aura suddenly turned profound as the air within the entire hall changed. Even Brittny’s expression changed because she suddenly felt her law becoming agitated and even showing submission under Damien’s aura.

She was about to attack when she suddenly found she was locked in her place, horrifying her. Before she could do anything, she witnessed something that made her heart skip a beat.

An ethereal golden scale symbol shone on Damien’s forehead, and thereafter, behind him, an ethereal hominid phantom appeared, holding a weight scale in its hand. A blindfold was wrapped around its eyes, and the details of its face were impossible to comprehend no matter how much one looked at it.

At this moment, Damien stood under this phantom, appearing like a celestial being. His expression was emotionless, while Emmie’s eyes were filled with reverence and an unknown fear.

At this moment, Damien’s voice sounded, but it no longer belonged to a human; it was imposing and ethereal. “When justice arrives, evil shall be purged. Under the Scales of Heaven, no evil shall remain! I hereby announce myself as the defendant under the Scales of Heaven and appoint you as my Advocate!

“I give you the right to ask three questions, and if I lie or hesitate to answer them, the Scales of Heaven will judge me as guilty, take away my cultivation, and curse me.” Damien’s expression remained emotionless, but Brittny’s expression was filled with shock and disbelief when she felt a profound power and connection suddenly established between her and that phantom, and she felt an overwhelming sense of authority.

At this moment, an ethereal impartial voice rang from the phantom, “9th Heavenly Judge shall bear witness to this trial!”
