Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1248: Chapter 1248:- Losing Sense of Reasoning

Feeling someone was coming, the Puppet Master immediately raised his head. In the next moment, an old man slowly descended from the sky and landed a few meters in front of him. The old man appeared completely calm, and there was not even the slightest sign of worry on his face. He stood with his hands behind his back, silently looking at the injured Puppet Master lying inside the crater.

At first, the Puppet Master was confused about who had suddenly appeared before him. However, when he looked closely at the old man’s face, his expression instantly changed. His eyes widened in complete horror as he immediately recognised the person standing in front of him.

It was none other than Malakor Harrington. The moment he recognised Malakor, the Puppet Master felt a terrible fear spreading through his entire body. His face became pale, and his heart began beating much faster.

As a Sixth Order cultivator, he naturally knew who Malakor Harrington was. He also knew that someone of Malakor’s strength would not have come all the way here simply to check whether he was still alive.

The Puppet Master instinctively tried to move backwards, but the terrible pain coming from his chest made it almost impossible for him to move.

”M-Malakor Harrington...!” The Puppet Master muttered in a trembling voice. Malakor did not immediately respond. Instead, he calmly looked at the injured man for a few seconds before lowering his gaze toward the empty healing potion bottle lying beside him.

Seeing the old man’s calm expression only made the Puppet Master even more frightened. He knew that he was in no condition to fight, and even if he had been completely healthy, he would never have dared to challenge someone like Malakor without making proper preparations.

His two strongest puppets had already been destroyed, his body was still badly injured, and he had barely recovered enough strength to sit up. There was no way he could escape from Malakor in his current condition.

Even in his full strength, he could never defeat Malakor Harrington. This old monster was the last person that he wished to meet at the battlefield.

The Puppet Master swallowed nervously as cold sweat began forming on his forehead. All the excitement he had felt earlier about capturing Lilith and Amelia had completely disappeared. Now, the only thing he could think about was how he was going to survive the next few moments.

Malakor Harrington slowly raised his right hand as he looked at the Puppet Master lying helplessly in front of him. The old man had no intention of wasting his time talking to someone who had attempted to capture Lilith and Amelia. Since the Puppet Master had already lost his two strongest puppets and was seriously injured, killing him would not require much effort.

Seeing Malakor raising his hand, the Puppet Master’s face immediately turned pale. He desperately tried to move backwards, but his injuries made it almost impossible for him to escape. Although the Sixth Order healing potion had already begun repairing his broken bones, he was still far from recovering his strength.

It was not as if he had recovered his peak strength; he would be able to escape.

However, just as Malakor was about to deliver the finishing blow, three powerful auras suddenly appeared in the sky above the crater.

”Stop right there, Malakor Harrington!” A powerful voice suddenly came from above, causing the Puppet Master to immediately raise his head.

Malakor stopped moving and slowly looked toward the source of the voice. Standing several hundred meters above the ground were three figures, each releasing an extremely powerful aura. Although they were not standing very close to him, Malakor could easily sense their cultivation.

Malakor looked at the three cultivators for a few seconds before a look of interest appeared in his eyes. He had already sensed their presence earlier during the battle, but until now, none of them had made any attempt to interfere.

”Oh? Three Seventh Order cultivators coming together just to save a single Sixth Order cultivator? That’s quite interesting.” Malakor said while slowly lowering his right hand.

The three cultivators did not immediately respond. Instead, they looked at the Puppet Master lying inside the crater before turning their attention back toward Malakor.

”Malakor Harrington, we suggest that you stop right there. If you kill that man, then don’t blame us for what happens next.” One of the Seventh Order cultivators said in a serious tone.

Hearing this, Malakor slightly narrowed his eyes. However, instead of becoming angry, he appeared even more interested in what the three cultivators had to say.

”And what exactly are you planning to do if I kill him?” Malakor asked calmly while looking at the three figures standing in the sky.

The Seventh Order cultivator who had spoken earlier exchanged a brief glance with his two companions before looking back at Malakor.

”It’s very simple. If you kill him, then the three of us will immediately move in three different directions across this battlefield and begin killing your soldiers. With our cultivation, killing ordinary soldiers will be extremely easy. Even if you try to stop us, you won’t be able to stop all three of us at the same time.” The Seventh Order cultivator replied without showing any hesitation.

Hearing those words, Malakor’s expression slowly became serious. The cultivator continued speaking while pointing toward the enormous battlefield, where hundreds of thousands of soldiers from both factions were still fighting.

”Think about it carefully, Malakor.”

”There are three of us here. If we separate and move toward three different parts of the battlefield, which one of us will you stop first? Even if you manage to stop one of us, the other two will continue killing your soldiers. And by the time you manage to stop all three of us, the damage to your army will already be catastrophic.” The Seventh Order cultivator said while looking directly into Malakor’s eyes.

Malakor remained silent after hearing those words. Although he did not like being threatened, he could not deny that the three cultivators were making a valid point.

After all, the difference between a Sixth Order cultivator and a Seventh Order cultivator was extremely large. Once someone reached the Seventh Order, their strength would increase to a completely different level. Ordinary soldiers, and even many powerful Sixth Order cultivators, would have very little chance of surviving against such an opponent.

A single Seventh Order cultivator could easily destroy large groups of soldiers with powerful attacks. If such a cultivator decided to ignore the enemy’s strongest fighters and focus entirely on killing lower-order soldiers, the number of casualties would increase at a terrifying speed.

And if three Seventh Order cultivators began doing this at the same time, the situation would become even worse.

With their enormous mana reserves and powerful abilities, Seventh Order cultivators could easily kill hundreds of thousands of lower-order soldiers in less than ten minutes if nobody stopped them.

This was also the main reason why the Seventh Order cultivators from both factions had not personally participated in the battle until now.

Before the battle had even begun, the strongest cultivators from both sides had silently reached an understanding. Although nobody had openly discussed the matter or made any official agreement, both sides understood that allowing Seventh Order cultivators to participate directly would only turn the battlefield into a complete disaster.

After all, there were hundreds of thousands of soldiers fighting on each side. If Seventh Order cultivators began using their full strength against these soldiers, the battle would no longer be a war between two armies.

Instead, it would become a competition to see which side’s strongest cultivators could kill the most enemy soldiers in the shortest amount of time.

And neither faction wanted that to happen. For this reason, the Seventh Order cultivators had been keeping each other in check. As long as the Seventh Order cultivators from one faction did not interfere, the Seventh Order cultivators from the other faction would also remain out of the battle.

This allowed the lower-order cultivators to fight against each other without constantly worrying about being killed by someone whose cultivation was far beyond their own.

Of course, this did not mean that the Seventh Order cultivators were unable to participate in the war. They were simply choosing not to interfere because both sides understood the consequences of doing so.

If one side broke this silent agreement, the other side would have no reason to continue following it. And once that happened, the entire situation on the battlefield could change within minutes.

Malakor naturally understood all of this. As someone who had reached the Seventh Order himself, he knew exactly how much destruction cultivators of his level could cause if they decided to attack ordinary soldiers.

He also understood that even though he was powerful, stopping three Seventh Order cultivators who were moving in three completely different directions would not be an easy task.

Even if he managed to catch up with one of them, the other two would have enough time to kill thousands of soldiers before he could reach their positions. And if those cultivators continued moving around the battlefield instead of fighting him directly, the number of casualties could become extremely large.

For several seconds, Malakor remained completely silent while looking at the three Seventh Order cultivators standing above him.

Meanwhile, the Puppet Master, who was still lying inside the crater, finally began feeling a little hopeful. Although he was still frightened of Malakor, he understood that the three Seventh Order cultivators were trying to save his life.

However, he did not dare to say anything. He knew that if he accidentally angered Malakor, the old man might decide to kill him before the three cultivators could do anything.

”Are you threatening me?” Malakor finally asked while looking at the three cultivators with a calm expression.

”We are simply telling you what will happen if you decide to kill him. Until now, the Seventh Order cultivators from both factions have stayed out of this battle. We would prefer to keep things that way. But if you insist on interfering, then we will have no choice but to do the same.” One of the Seventh Order cultivators replied with an arrogant look.

Hearing this, Malakor glanced down at the Puppet Master, who was still lying helplessly on the ground. The old man could easily kill him with a single attack. In fact, considering the Puppet Master’s current condition, he would not even need to use much of his strength.

However, killing a single Sixth Order cultivator was not worth risking the lives of thousands of soldiers from the Anti-Emperor Faction. Malakor slowly raised his head again and looked at the three cultivators.

”So, you’re saying that as long as I don’t kill this man, the three of you will continue staying out of the battle?” Malakor asked while keeping his eyes on them.

”That’s correct. We have no intention of interfering as long as your side follows the same understanding. The soldiers and lower-order cultivators can settle this battle among themselves. There is no need for us to get involved.” The Seventh Order cultivator replied.

Malakor did not immediately respond. Instead, he remained silent for a few more seconds, carefully considering the situation.

Although he was not afraid of the three cultivators standing before him, he had to think about the consequences of his actions. After all, this was not a personal battle where he could simply fight without worrying about anything else.

This was a war involving hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and one wrong decision from someone of his strength could easily lead to the deaths of countless people.

And Malakor had no intention of allowing that to happen simply because he wanted to kill one badly injured Puppet Master. But he also could not ignore the fact that this man just tried to capture his grandson’s future wives.

When it comes to his family, Malakor Harrington isn’t willing to tolerate anything. He loses his sense of reasoning.
