Chapter 1245: Chapter 1245:- Six Months long Preparation

Lilith and Amelia slowly stood up from the ground. Both of them had suffered several injuries during their fight against the two puppets, but neither woman had any intention of giving up. Although the Puppet Master’s control over his puppets was extremely impressive, they believed that they still had a chance of winning if they continued working together.

However, what neither of them knew was that the strange powders that had entered their bodies through their wounds were already beginning to take effect.

”Amelia, let’s try attacking the Puppet Master directly. As long as he’s controlling those two puppets, we’ll continue having trouble. But if we can force him to defend himself, he won’t be able to focus completely on controlling them.” Lilith suggested while wiping the blood from her injured arm.

”I was thinking the same thing. I’ll use my roots to keep those two puppets busy. Meanwhile, you should use your speed to get close to him. Once you’re close enough, attack him with everything you’ve got.” Amelia replied while gathering mana around her hands.

Hearing their conversation, the Puppet Master could not help but smile.

”Oh? So you’ve finally decided to attack me directly? That’s a good idea. Unfortunately, I don’t think either of you will be able to reach me.” The Puppet Master said while slowly moving his fingers.

Lilith ignored his words and immediately prepared to move. At the same time, Amelia raised both of her hands, causing the ground around the two puppets to begin shaking.

Several thick roots suddenly broke through the ground and rushed toward the two puppets from different directions. Some roots aimed for their arms, while others attempted to wrap around their legs and prevent them from moving.

Seeing the incoming attacks, the Puppet Master quickly moved his fingers, ordering both puppets to retreat.

However, Amelia had already expected this. The moment the puppets attempted to move backwards, several more roots suddenly came out of the ground behind them, blocking their path.

”Now, Lilith!” Amelia shouted while controlling the roots.

Lilith immediately rushed forward, using her speed to move around the trapped puppets. Her target was the Puppet Master, who was standing several dozen meters behind his creations.

However, just as Lilith was about to increase her speed, something strange happened.

A sudden wave of heat spread through her body. At first, Lilith thought that it was simply the result of her injuries and the large amount of mana she had used during the battle. However, within the next moment, the strange heat became much stronger.

Her heart suddenly began beating faster, and her breathing became slightly uneven. A strange feeling spread through her entire body, causing her movements to slow down for a brief moment.

’What...?’ Lilith thought in confusion.

She had experienced similar feelings before because of her Succubus bloodline, but this time, something was clearly wrong. The strange feeling was much stronger than normal, and it had appeared at the worst possible moment.

As Lilith attempted to continue moving forward, her body suddenly became extremely sensitive. Even the movement of her clothes against her skin felt unusually noticeable, making it difficult for her to focus on the enemy standing in front of her.

Her natural Succubus instincts, which she could normally control without any difficulty, were suddenly becoming stronger.

’Why is this happening now?’ Lilith wondered as she tried to calm herself.

However, the more she attempted to suppress the strange feelings, the stronger they seemed to become. The Succubus Desire Powder had finally begun showing its effects.

Although Lilith was a powerful Sixth Order cultivator, the powder had been specially created to affect the natural hormones and instincts of her race. Instead of attacking her body directly, it was disturbing the natural balance of her Succubus bloodline, making her desires much more difficult to control.

And because the powder had entered her body through several different wounds, its effects were spreading through her blood at the same time. Lilith gritted her teeth and attempted to force herself to concentrate. However, the small delay in her movements was enough for the Puppet Master to notice that something was wrong.

”Hehehe! It looks like the first powder has finally started working.” The Puppet Master muttered with an excited smile.

At the same time, Amelia was also beginning to experience something strange. While she was controlling her roots to keep the two puppets trapped, she suddenly heard a loud sound coming from her right side.

BOOOOOOM!!!!

Amelia immediately turned her head, thinking that a powerful attack had been launched toward her. However, when she looked in that direction, she realized that nothing unusual had happened. The sound had simply come from two nearby soldiers exchanging attacks.

Normally, such a sound would not have bothered her at all. After all, she was standing in the middle of a battlefield where hundreds of thousands of cultivators were fighting. But for some reason, that ordinary sound had seemed extremely loud to her. Before Amelia could understand what was happening, she heard another sound.

CLANG!!!!

This time, the sound of two swords clashing nearby felt so loud that she instinctively flinched.

’What is going on?’ Amelia thought while narrowing her eyes. She attempted to focus on the two puppets standing in front of her, but her vision suddenly became slightly blurry.

For a brief moment, the two puppets appeared to move much faster than before. Their movements also seemed strangely violent, as if they were preparing to launch attacks from several directions at once.

Amelia quickly raised her hands and ordered her roots to attack. However, instead of moving toward the puppets in a controlled manner, several roots suddenly rushed forward with much greater force than she had intended.

One root struck the ground beside the armored puppet, while another missed its target completely. Seeing this, Amelia’s expression changed.

’Why am I having trouble controlling my roots?’ She wondered.

She attempted to calm herself and concentrate, but the sounds coming from the surrounding battlefield were becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Every scream, every explosion, and every clash of weapons seemed to be happening directly beside her ears.

At the same time, a strange feeling of anger began spreading through her mind. Even the sight of the two puppets standing in front of her was beginning to make her unusually angry.

She wanted to destroy them. She wanted to tear them apart with her roots. And the more she looked at them, the stronger that feeling became. The Elven Berserk Powder had also begun showing its effects.

Unlike the powder affecting Lilith, this one was directly disturbing Amelia’s senses and emotions. Her natural ability to sense the surrounding environment was being affected, causing ordinary sounds and movements to appear much stronger than they actually were.

For someone who relied heavily on concentration to control her roots, this was extremely dangerous.

”Amelia... something is wrong with me.” Lilith said while stopping a short distance away from the Puppet Master.

Amelia turned toward her, but the sudden movement caused her vision to become blurry once again.

”Something is wrong with me too. Everything sounds so loud, and I can’t properly focus on my roots. I feel like I’m losing control.” Amelia replied while pressing one hand against her forehead.

Hearing their words, the Puppet Master finally burst into laughter.

”Hahahaha! Wonderful! Both powders are working exactly as I expected!” The Puppet Master shouted with an excited expression.

Lilith immediately looked toward him. ”Powders? What did you do to us?” Lilith demanded while trying to control her breathing.

”Oh, nothing too complicated. I simply coated the blades of my puppets with two special powders. One was made specifically for Succubi, while the other was created to affect Elves. Every time my puppets managed to cut you, a small amount entered your bodies through the wounds.” The Puppet Master explained with a proud smile.

Hearing this, Amelia’s expression became furious.

”You bastard! You poisoned us!” Amelia shouted as several thick roots suddenly broke through the ground around her. However, because her mind was already being affected by the Elven Berserk Powder, she failed to control the roots properly.

Instead of moving directly toward the Puppet Master, two of the roots suddenly struck the ground several meters away from him, while another root moved toward one of the puppets.

The Puppet Master easily ordered the armored puppet to avoid the attack.

”Careful, Saint Amelia. If you continue attacking like that, you might accidentally kill your own soldiers. The powder affecting you will only become stronger with time. Soon, you won’t even be able to tell the difference between your enemies and your allies.” The Puppet Master said while laughing.

Amelia gritted her teeth in anger, but she could not deny that her condition was becoming worse.

Meanwhile, Lilith was also struggling. Her body was becoming increasingly hot, and the strange desires caused by the powder were making it difficult for her to think clearly. Although she was desperately trying to suppress them using her mana and willpower, the powder continued affecting her natural Succubus instincts.

She attempted to take another step toward the Puppet Master, but her legs suddenly felt weak. Lilith immediately stopped and placed one hand against her chest, trying to steady her breathing.

’Damn it! I can’t concentrate properly. If this continues, I won’t even be able to fight.’ Lilith thought with growing frustration.

Seeing both women struggling, the Puppet Master slowly lowered his hands.

”Excellent. Everything is going according to plan. I spent six months searching for you two, so naturally, I made sure to prepare properly before coming here.” The Puppet Master said while looking at them with an excited expression.
