Chapter 1243: Chapter 1243:- Saints Against Puppet Master

The Puppet Master slowly raised both of his hands as Lilith and Amelia approached him. A strange smile appeared on his face as he looked at the two women standing before him. Although he was facing two powerful Sixth Order cultivators, he did not appear worried. Instead, he seemed excited, as if he had finally found something that he had been searching for a very long time.

”Saint Lilith and Saint Amelia. I have been looking for both of you for almost six months. I never imagined that I would finally meet you on a battlefield. I must say, joining the Emperor Faction was definitely the right decision.” The Puppet Master said with a wide smile on his face.

”Six months? Why have you been looking for us?” Lilith asked while looking at the strange man with a confused expression.

”You don’t need to know that right now. Once I capture both of you, I will have plenty of time to explain everything. Of course, I would prefer to capture you alive, but even if you die during our battle, your bodies will still be extremely useful to me.” The Puppet Master replied while slowly moving his fingers.

Hearing his words, Amelia’s expression immediately became cold. She did not like the way this man was speaking about their bodies, especially when he was looking at them with such a strange smile.

Lilith was also beginning to understand that the man standing before them was not an ordinary enemy who simply wanted to kill them because they belonged to the Anti-Emperor Faction.

”Amelia, be careful. I don’t like the way this man is looking at us.” Lilith said while keeping her eyes on the two puppets standing beside him.

”I know. Let’s finish this quickly. We still have thousands of enemy soldiers to deal with.” Amelia replied as several thick roots slowly began moving beneath the ground around her.

The Puppet Master smiled when he noticed their movements. However, instead of preparing to fight them himself, he simply took a few steps backward and raised both of his hands. Several thin mana threads appeared around his fingers, connecting him to the two puppets standing in front of him.

”Come on, my beautiful creations. Show these two Saints what you are capable of.” The Puppet Master said while moving his fingers.

The moment he gave the command, both puppets rushed toward Lilith and Amelia at the same time. The armoured puppet charged toward Amelia with its two long blades raised, while the human-shaped puppet moved toward Lilith from the opposite direction.

Seeing the armored puppet approaching her, Amelia immediately raised her right hand. Several thick roots suddenly broke through the ground and rushed toward the puppet, aiming to pierce through its chest and legs.

However, before the roots could reach their target, the armored puppet suddenly jumped into the air. At the same time, the human-shaped puppet, which had originally been moving toward Lilith, suddenly changed direction and rushed toward Amelia.

SWISH!!!!

Amelia immediately noticed the second puppet approaching from her right side. She quickly raised her left hand, causing another thick root to come out of the ground and move toward the puppet.

However, just as the root was about to strike, the human-shaped puppet suddenly lowered its body and avoided the attack. It then rushed forward and struck Amelia across her abdomen with its palm.

BANG!!!!

Amelia was sent flying several meters backwards before crashing onto the ground. Although she had managed to protect herself with a layer of mana at the last moment, the attack was still powerful enough to cause a sharp pain in her abdomen.

”Amelia!” Lilith shouted when she saw her being sent flying.

However, before Lilith could move forward to help her, the armored puppet suddenly appeared in front of her. The two long blades attached to its arms immediately moved toward her chest, forcing Lilith to jump backward to avoid being cut.

Lilith quickly activated her charm ability, attempting to place the puppet under her control. However, the moment her charm reached the armored puppet, she realized that something was wrong.

Unlike an ordinary cultivator, the puppet did not possess a normal mind that she could influence. It was simply an artificial body being controlled by the Puppet Master through his mana threads. As a result, her charm had almost no effect on it.

”Tch! Of course, my charm doesn’t work on these things.” Lilith muttered with an annoyed expression.

”Did you really think that your charm would work on my puppets? Hahaha! They don’t have any desires for you to control. Your charm might work on ordinary soldiers, but against my creations, it is completely useless.” The Puppet Master said while laughing.

Lilith did not respond. Instead, she quickly gathered mana around her hands and launched a powerful attack toward the armored puppet. However, the puppet immediately raised both of its blades and blocked the attack before rushing toward her again.

CLANG!!!!

Lilith managed to block the puppet’s next strike with a defensive barrier, but the force behind the attack pushed her several steps backward. Before she could recover her balance, the human-shaped puppet suddenly appeared behind her.

The Puppet Master had deliberately made the armored puppet attack Lilith from the front while the second puppet moved around her. Since Lilith was busy defending herself against the first puppet, she did not notice the second one until it was already too close.

BANG!!!!

The human-shaped puppet struck Lilith directly in the back, sending her flying forward. Before she could hit the ground, the armored puppet moved toward her and swung one of its blades across her shoulder.

SLASH!!!!

A long cut appeared on Lilith’s shoulder as she was thrown several meters away. She managed to land on her feet, but blood was already flowing from the wound.

”Damn it! These two puppets are working together far too well.” Lilith muttered while looking at the two puppets standing in front of her.

Meanwhile, Amelia had already returned to her feet. Seeing that Lilith was also having trouble, she immediately sent several thick roots toward the armored puppet, forcing it to move away from Lilith.

However, the Puppet Master had already noticed her intention.

”Number Two, stop those roots. Number One, continue attacking the Succubus Saint.” The Puppet Master ordered while moving his fingers.

The human-shaped puppet immediately rushed toward Amelia and began attacking the roots she had summoned. Whenever a root came out of the ground, the puppet would either avoid it or strike it with enough force to push it away.

At the same time, the armored puppet continued attacking Lilith, forcing her to constantly defend herself against its sharp blades.

For the next several seconds, Lilith and Amelia attempted to fight the two puppets separately. However, no matter what they did, the Puppet Master always seemed to know how to respond.

Whenever Amelia attempted to trap one puppet with her roots, the other puppet would immediately attack her from a different direction. Whenever Lilith tried to create some distance, one puppet would force her to defend herself while the other moved around to attack from behind.

The two puppets were not simply attacking on their own. Every movement they made was being controlled by the Puppet Master, who was carefully watching the battle and deciding when each puppet should attack, defend, or retreat.

This made their teamwork extremely difficult to deal with. Even though Lilith and Amelia were both powerful cultivators, they were finding it difficult to fight against two opponents who were moving with such perfect coordination.

BANG!!!!

Amelia was once again sent flying after the armored puppet suddenly struck her from the side while she was busy defending herself against the human-shaped puppet. She crashed onto the ground and rolled several times before stopping.

At almost the same moment, Lilith was forced to block two attacks from the armored puppet before the human-shaped puppet suddenly appeared beside her and struck her across the waist.

BANG!!!!

Lilith was also sent flying, crashing into the ground several meters away from Amelia. Both women quickly stood up, but their expressions had become much more serious. They had already suffered several small injuries, while the two puppets remained almost completely unharmed.

”This isn’t working. Whenever I try to attack one puppet, the other immediately comes to help it. If we continue fighting them separately, we will only keep getting injured.” Lilith said while wiping a small amount of blood from the corner of her mouth.

”I agree. Their movements are too well coordinated. The Puppet Master is controlling both of them at the same time, which means he can make them attack us from different directions whenever he wants.” Amelia replied while looking toward the man standing behind the two puppets.

”Then let’s fight together. If we stay close to each other and support one another, we’ll have a much better chance of dealing with these puppets.” Lilith suggested while moving closer to Amelia.

”Fine. I’ll use my roots to limit their movements. You focus on attacking whenever I create an opening. And if one of them tries to attack us from behind, I’ll make sure to stop it.” Amelia replied while raising both of her hands.

Seeing the two women standing beside each other, the Puppet Master smiled.

”Oh? So you’ve finally decided to work together? Good. I was beginning to wonder how long it would take you to understand that fighting my puppets separately was a terrible idea.” The Puppet Master said with an amused expression.

Neither Lilith nor Amelia bothered responding to his words. Instead, they both focused their attention on the two puppets standing before them.

The moment the armored puppet rushed toward them, Amelia immediately raised her right hand. Several thick roots broke through the ground and wrapped around the puppet’s legs, stopping it from moving forward.

At the same time, Lilith gathered mana around her right hand and launched a powerful attack toward the puppet’s chest.

BOOOOOOM!!!!

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!
