Chapter 1240: Chapter 1240:- Display of Strength and Intelligence

Before Freya’s Fight against Kaito Black, the other women were also busy fighting against the Emperor Faction’s soldiers. Although Freya had already killed hundreds of enemy soldiers within a short period, her number of kills continued increasing at a terrifying speed. Every sixty seconds, she was killing around four hundred to five hundred soldiers, sometimes even more than that. Wherever she went, enemy soldiers continued falling to the ground, and almost nobody was able to stop her.

Seeing how quickly Freya was killing the enemy soldiers, Lilith, Amelia, and Athena naturally did not want to be left behind. Although all three women had different fighting styles, they were just as determined to contribute to the battle. After all, this was the first major battle between the Anti-Emperor Faction and the Emperor Faction, and every enemy soldier they managed to kill would reduce the pressure on their own army.

However, unlike Freya, who preferred charging directly into the enemy ranks and killing everyone in her path, Lilith decided to use a completely different method. As someone who possessed powerful charm abilities. She did not need to personally kill every enemy soldier. Instead, she could simply use her charm to make them fight against their own comrades.

Lilith moved closer to a large group of Emperor Faction soldiers who were fighting against the Anti-Emperor Faction’s army. The moment she came within range, she activated her charm ability, causing a strange power to spread toward the enemy soldiers standing in front of her.

Those who were affected suddenly stopped moving for a brief moment, and the expressions on their faces slowly changed to nothing. The charm soldiers looked expressionless. Their eyes held no emotions at all.

Some soldiers who had been preparing to attack the Anti-Emperor Faction’s troops suddenly lowered their weapons. Others stopped fighting altogether and turned their heads toward Lilith. Their eyes were filled with a strange look, and it was clear that they were no longer acting according to their own will.

Seeing that her charm had successfully taken control of them, Lilith smiled before giving them a simple command. ”Attack your own comrades.”

The moment they heard her command, the soldiers who had fallen under her charm immediately turned around and began attacking the Emperor Faction’s soldiers standing beside them. Some swung their swords at their own comrades, while others suddenly stabbed their spears into the soldiers who had been fighting alongside them only moments earlier.

Because the attacks came from their own comrades, many soldiers were completely caught off guard. Some were killed before they could even understand what was happening, while others barely managed to block the sudden attacks.

”What the hell are you doing?!” One soldier shouted in anger after blocking a sword attack from his own comrade.

”Have you gone crazy?! We are on the same side!” Another soldier shouted as he quickly moved backward to avoid being stabbed by his companion.

However, the soldiers under Lilith’s control did not respond to their questions. They continued attacking without showing any hesitation, as if the people standing in front of them were their enemies rather than the comrades they had been fighting alongside for years.

Within just a few minutes, Lilith had already managed to put close to one hundred and ninety enemy soldiers under her control. Although this number might not seem very large compared to the hundreds of thousands of soldiers fighting on the battlefield, the damage caused by these controlled soldiers was much greater than their numbers suggested.

After all, nobody expected their own comrades to suddenly turn against them in the middle of a battle. Some soldiers were attacked from behind, while others were forced to defend themselves against their own friends. This created confusion among the Emperor Faction’s troops, making it difficult for them to maintain their formations.

”Something is wrong! Why are our own men attacking us?!” One of the commanders shouted after noticing the strange situation.

”It’s that woman! She must have done something to them!” Another soldier shouted while pointing toward Lilith, who was standing a short distance away.

Some of the more experienced cultivators quickly understood that Lilith must have used some kind of charm or mind-control ability. However, even after realising what had happened, there was very little they could do about it. They did not know how to break her charm, and the soldiers who had fallen under her control continued following her commands without showing any signs of returning to normal.

This placed the Emperor Faction’s soldiers in a very difficult position. If they refused to fight back, they would be killed by their own comrades. However, if they defended themselves seriously, they might end up killing the very people they were supposed to be fighting alongside.

Lilith, on the other hand, did not seem bothered by the confusion she had created. She continued moving through the battlefield while using her charm on more enemy soldiers whenever she found a suitable opportunity. Instead of wasting her strength fighting every opponent directly, she allowed the Emperor Faction’s own soldiers to do much of the fighting for her.

Meanwhile, on another part of the battlefield, Amelia was fighting in a completely different manner. Unlike Lilith, who preferred controlling the enemy soldiers, Amelia’s attacks were much more brutal. She used her control over plants to attack the enemy soldiers directly, and the results were extremely frightening.

As Amelia raised her hand, the ground beneath a large group of Emperor Faction soldiers suddenly began shaking. Before the soldiers could understand what was happening, several thick roots suddenly broke through the ground and shot toward them at incredible speed.

These were not ordinary roots. Each root was extremely thick and tough, while its tip was as sharp as a spear. Amelia had made them strong enough to pierce through armor and defensive barriers, allowing her to attack several soldiers at the same time.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!!!!

The sharp roots rushed toward the enemy soldiers, piercing through their bodies before they could react. One root went straight through a soldier’s chest, piercing his heart before continuing forward and striking another soldier standing behind him. Another root pierced through a soldier’s throat, while a third root struck an enemy directly through the head.

The roots did not stop after killing one soldier. As long as Amelia continued controlling them, they kept moving forward, attacking one enemy after another. Whenever a root pierced through someone’s body, it would immediately pull itself free and move toward another target.

Naturally, the Emperor Faction’s soldiers did not simply stand there and allow themselves to be killed. Some attempted to cut the roots with their swords, while others used elemental attacks to destroy them. However, Amelia’s roots were extremely tough, and ordinary weapons could not easily cut through them.

Even when a powerful attack was about to strike one of the roots, Amelia would simply make it move back into the ground. The root would disappear beneath the surface before coming out again from another location, often directly beneath or behind the soldier who had tried to attack it.

This made fighting against Amelia extremely difficult. The soldiers could not predict where the roots would appear next, and even when they managed to avoid one attack, another root might suddenly come out of the ground and pierce through their bodies.

From a distance, the way Amelia controlled her roots looked very strange. It almost seemed as if the roots were not roots at all, but enormous snakes swimming through water. The ground was like water to them, allowing them to move freely beneath the surface before suddenly coming out to attack their targets.

Whenever an enemy soldier tried to strike one of these roots, it would quickly dive back into the ground, just like a snake diving beneath the surface of a lake. Then, before the soldier could relax, the same root would suddenly appear from another direction and attack him again.

One soldier attempted to cut a thick root that was rushing toward his chest. However, just as his sword was about to make contact, the root suddenly moved downward and disappeared into the ground. The soldier was surprised, but before he could understand what had happened, the ground directly beneath his feet broke apart.

PUCHI!!!!

The sharp tip of the root came out of the ground and pierced straight through his chest. The soldier’s eyes widened in horror as blood flowed from his mouth. Before his body could even fall, the root pulled itself free and disappeared beneath the ground again, searching for another target.

The same thing was happening all around Amelia. Thick roots continued coming out of the ground, attacking the Emperor Faction’s soldiers from different directions. Some soldiers were pierced through their hearts, while others were struck through their throats or heads. Even those who managed to avoid the first attack often found themselves facing another root coming from a completely different direction.

Because the roots could move freely beneath the ground, the enemy soldiers had no idea where they should focus their attention. Looking forward was not enough, since a root could suddenly appear behind them. Looking behind was also dangerous, since another root might come out directly beneath their feet.
