Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 387: Chapter 387: Must Be Killed

The importance of a Demon Fiend to the great powers was self-evident. Flawless Palace’s greatest threat right now was that no Demon Fiend had yet emerged from this generation of disciples.

The other Five Great Forces all had Demon Fiends; only Flawless Palace did not. Lacking a Demon Fiend, Flawless Palace had no advantage whatsoever in the confrontations among the younger generation.

After all, when disciples from the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain met in the outside world, a life-or-death battle was inevitable. Moreover, the older generation of experts were not allowed to interfere in such clashes.

The battles between junior disciples could be controlled, but if they escalated to a fight between the older generation, it would very likely turn into an all-out war.

Therefore, with the older generation of experts not intervening, a Demon Fiend represented the strongest combat power. Without a Demon Fiend, Flawless Palace was utterly powerless to fight back in the conflicts of the younger generation.

To put it simply, whenever some ruins or an expert’s legacy appeared, the younger generation of Flawless Palace wouldn’t even dare to go. Without a Demon Fiend to hold the line, they would just be slaughtered if they went. This was the most awkward part of their situation.

And as they were continuously suppressed, if Flawless Palace continued to produce no Demon Fiends, the situation would only grow worse. Eventually, Flawless Palace would face the embarrassing predicament of having no worthy successors.

The youth naturally understood all these stakes, so he could not allow Lin Yun to mature. After all, the combat power Lin Yun had displayed so far had far exceeded his imagination.

In his heart, the youth was already certain that if Lin Yun was given time, he would inevitably become the sixth major Demon Fiend of the Eastern Domain. At that point, Flawless Palace’s situation would change.

The Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain would once again return to a new balance, a situation the upper echelons of Taiqing Academy were extremely reluctant to see.

”Kid, even if I have to use my last resort today, I will definitely kill you,” the youth said coldly.

If at first he had only wanted to kill a disciple from Flawless Palace, now he felt he absolutely had to. Eliminating a future Demon Fiend of Flawless Palace would be a monumental contribution.

At Flawless Palace, Lin Yun’s reputation had not yet fully spread, so no one among the other Five Great Forces had heard of him yet.

However, Gong Lingqi and Chang Jing had already been hunted several times. These two were the geniuses from Flawless Palace most likely to become Demon Fiends, so the Demon Fiends from the other Five Great Forces had all pursued them.

Now, the youth had chanced upon Lin Yun and witnessed his strength. For the sake of the current situation alone, let alone anything else, the youth had to kill Lin Yun.

”You want to kill me? Let’s see if you have what it takes.” Sensing the youth’s murderous intent, Lin Yun showed no fear. His Battle Intent surged as he replied indifferently.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the youth remained silent. Instead, he took an elixir out of his Space Ring. Seeing this elixir, the eyes of the Flawless Palace Supreme Elder, who had been hiding in the shadows, narrowed. He muttered to himself, ’Burning Essence Pill.’

The Burning Essence Pill was an Earth Level Seven-Stars Elixir. It had only one effect: to forcibly burn a Martial Artist’s Elemental Power and Essence Blood for a short period of time to drastically increase their combat power.

It sounded like the Burning Essence Pill’s effect was similar to the Blood Burning Pill’s, but the difference between the two was enormous. A Burning Essence Pill could allow a Martial Artist to double their combat power in a short time.

In other words, if the youth took this single Burning Essence Pill, he could very well attain the combat power of the Celestial Spirit Realm for a short time. This was something that not even a hundred Blood Burning Pills could achieve.

Looking at the Burning Essence Pill in his hand, a trace of reluctance flashed in the youth’s eyes. This Burning Essence Pill had been a gift from his master, a Supreme Elder of Taiqing Academy, and was meant for him to save his own life.

’As long as I can kill you, the loss of one Burning Essence Pill is worth it.’ With a look of determination in his eyes, the youth swallowed the Burning Essence Pill in one gulp.

As the Burning Essence Pill entered his body, an incomparably powerful fluctuation of Elemental Power erupted from the youth. It broke through the Ninth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm, and judging from his current aura, he was now no weaker than an expert at Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement.

’He forcibly boosted his combat power?’ Watching the youth, Lin Yun’s expression turned grave. Against the youth who had taken a Burning Essence Pill, Lin Yun stood no chance of winning a direct confrontation.

He felt a fatal threat, but Lin Yun had no intention of fleeing. He had his own trump cards: the War God Transformation and the Demon Emperor’s Blood Pool.

’Very well. Today, I’ll kill one of Taiqing Academy’s Ten Core Disciples and show the world that my Flawless Palace isn’t some pushover you can just walk all over.’ Having made up his mind, if a fight was inevitable, then he would fight to his heart’s content.

The youth had forcibly increased his combat power using a Burning Essence Pill; he was not a true Celestial Spirit Realm expert himself. This was the reason Lin Yun dared to face him head-on.

If the youth’s actual cultivation was at Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement, Lin Yun would never have clashed with him head-on. He definitely would have turned and fled at the first opportunity.

”War God Transformation.” With a low shout, Lin Yun activated the War God Transformation, and his aura also began to skyrocket. Lin Yun was currently at the Sixth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm. After using the War God Transformation, his aura surged all the way to the Ninth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm.

”A Secret Technique?” the youth muttered, watching Lin Yun’s similarly surging aura.

After a moment’s stun, the youth’s expression turned ferocious. He had already taken the Burning Essence Pill; if he couldn’t kill Lin Yun today, the loss would be far too great.

”Do you think a Secret Technique will be enough to save you? Today, I will cut you down!” With a furious roar, the youth lunged at Lin Yun.

The Supreme Elder, who had been secretly observing Lin Yun, was about to intervene when the youth swallowed the Burning Essence Pill. But then he discovered that Lin Yun had also forcibly boosted his power.

After a brief moment of shock, the Supreme Elder restrained himself once more. He looked at Lin Yun with eyes full of approval. ’Not bad, not bad at all. That kid Luo Feng finally got it right this time.’

Both of their combat powers were raised to the extreme. The youth was now incredibly fast, arriving in front of Lin Yun in the blink of an eye.

”One Sword Stuns the Wild Geese.” A casual slash of his sword possessed immense power. Faced with this stunning sword strike, Lin Yun immediately unleashed Thunderfire Bombardment.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The sound of Elemental Power clashing rang out in the sky. Now, a single blow from either of them was enough to kill a Ninth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm Martial Artist.

The two incredibly fast figures constantly moved and collided in the sky, each blow carrying terrifyingly destructive power.

At first, Lin Yun was able to hold on, but as time went on, the gap between the Celestial Spirit Realm and the Primordial Ocean Realm gradually put him at a disadvantage.

Lin Yun’s own cultivation was only at the Sixth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm. Even after using the War God Transformation, he had barely reached the Ninth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm. The youth, on the other hand, with the help of the Burning Essence Pill, had surpassed the Primordial Ocean Realm and reached the level of Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement.

Gradually overwhelming Lin Yun, the youth roared with a ferocious expression, ”Die! I’ll cut you down first today! Flawless Palace will never produce a Demon Fiend, haha!”
