Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 359: Chapter 359: The Aloof Little Ape

The Black Heaven Blood Pill was an extremely famous Elixir throughout the entire Celestial Spirit Continent. No one in the whole Eastern Domain could refine this Elixir; only Alchemy Masters at the Medicine and Artifact Master Guild Headquarters in the Central Domain were capable of doing so.

As an Earth Level Nine-Star elixir, when combined with a special medicinal bath and the aid of a Spirit Realm expert, it allowed a person to break through to the Celestial Spirit Realm at the fastest possible speed.

However, the world has its own natural laws. For an elixir with effects as heaven-defying as the Black Heaven Blood Pill, its side effects were also exceptionally pronounced.

After taking the Black Heaven Blood Pill, as your Cultivation rose, the elixir would slowly erode your mind, eventually causing you to become brutal and bloodthirsty.

That was why no one refined the Black Heaven Blood Pill anymore. The Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild had designated it as a Forbidden Medicine hundreds of years ago.

The Black Heaven Blood Pill that Du Ying possessed had been given to him by his master, the previous Valley Master of Celestial Eagle Valley.

Hearing Du Ying’s words, Tang Wushuang’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. In a low voice, he said, ”Let’s begin, Master. I must become stronger.”

”Alright.” After agreeing, Du Ying watched as Tang Wushuang consumed the Black Heaven Blood Pill. He then formed a claw with one hand and pressed it directly onto the crown of Tang Wushuang’s head.

One could say Tang Wushuang was truly unscrupulous in his quest for power. If it were Lin Yun, he would never use the Black Heaven Blood Pill to increase his strength, not even if he were burdened by a deep-seated, bloody vengeance.

Because doing so would be tantamount to selling one’s soul for power, only to end up as a bloodthirsty demon. That was something Lin Yun despised.

Naturally, Lin Yun knew nothing of Tang Wushuang’s affairs. At that moment, having just returned to his room, Lin Yun decided to take a bath first. After cultivating for so long, the smell of sweat clinging to him wasn’t exactly pleasant.

As was his habit, Lin Yun glanced over at Little Ape. Under his gaze, Little Ape, who had been in a deep sleep all this time, slowly opened its eyes.

’He’s awake...’ Lin Yun muttered to himself. He was overjoyed that Little Ape had finally woken up. Forgetting all about his bath, he rushed over to Little Ape’s side in a few quick strides.

After sleeping for so long, Little Ape seemed a bit dazed upon opening its eyes. Only after a few moments did its gaze gradually regain its focus.

Looking at Lin Yun, Little Ape spoke in a human voice, ”I’ve broken through to a Tier Three Demon Beast.” As it spoke, a very human-like smile appeared on its face.

”This...” Hearing Little Ape speak, Lin Yun froze for a moment. Little Ape could suddenly talk. He was both shocked and overjoyed.

”You can talk?” Lin Yun asked. Generally, Demon Beasts could only speak human language upon reaching Tier Four—this was true even for the Vajra Divine Ape and the Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape. He never imagined Little Ape would be able to speak as a Tier Three Demon Beast.

”Mhm.” Little Ape nodded, then leaped onto Lin Yun’s shoulder just as it always had.

Little Ape was very dependent on Lin Yun, like a child with its parent. Their relationship had always been that of both a father and a friend.

”What should I call you? Father?” Little Ape asked unexpectedly from its perch on Lin Yun’s shoulder.

Asked so suddenly, Lin Yun nearly stumbled. ’Father? What kind of joke is this?’ After a moment’s thought, he looked at Little Ape and said, ”We’ve come this far together, just like real brothers. Just call me Big Brother.”

”Mhm, Big Brother,” Little Ape replied, then nuzzled Lin Yun’s face with its cute little paw.

Lin Yun was thrilled that Little Ape had woken up and could even speak as a Tier Three Demon Beast. After a refreshing bath, he took Little Ape out into the courtyard.

Just as he stepped out the door, he saw Caiyi sitting in the courtyard pavilion. He found it baffling; this woman had been showing up at his place constantly over the past few days, and every time she would berate him. It had gotten to the point where the mere sight of her ruined his mood.

”You big pervert! Look what you’ve done! Now the news has spread among all the Direct Disciples that you injured a fellow disciple over two women!” Caiyi shouted, running over the moment she saw Lin Yun.

Lin Yun didn’t want to say a single word to this woman. ”Big pervert” had already become Caiyi’s standard name for him; every time she saw him, she would shout it incessantly.

He turned to leave without a second glance, having no intention of dealing with Caiyi. ’If I can’t beat her, I can at least avoid her, right?’

But Caiyi obviously wasn’t going to let Lin Yun off that easily. She tagged along beside him, chattering nonstop about how he was in the wrong, how lecherous he was, and how he was just like Luo Feng.

It was incredibly annoying. Not only Lin Yun, but even Little Ape was getting irritated by Caiyi. It immediately looked up at her and said, ”Scram.”

Suddenly hearing Little Ape’s voice, Caiyi’s curiosity was piqued, and she looked at the little creature on Lin Yun’s shoulder. As a Celestial Spirit Realm expert, Caiyi could tell at a glance that Little Ape was merely a Tier Three Demon Beast.

She had never heard of a Tier Three Demon Beast that could speak. Caiyi’s interest in Little Ape was instantly piqued.

”A Tier Three Demon Beast that can talk? That’s incredible!” Caiyi exclaimed, looking at Little Ape. As she spoke, she reached out, wanting to hold it.

But before her hand could get close, Caiyi heard Little Ape snap icily, ”Don’t touch me. Get away.”

Being snapped at by Little Ape didn’t anger Caiyi in the slightest. On the contrary, her interest grew even more. She circled Little Ape, pestering it with questions and periodically trying to touch it, only for Little Ape to dodge every attempt.

Now that it could speak, Little Ape fully revealed its proud and aloof personality. With the exception of Lin Yun and his friends and family, Little Ape looked down on everyone else with extreme disdain, just as it was doing now with Caiyi.

It showed Caiyi no courtesy whatsoever. From the looks of it, Little Ape found her utterly repulsive.

This was hardly surprising. Little Ape’s bloodline was unquestionably top-tier among Demon Beasts; even a Divine Dragon or a Phoenix would likely fall short in comparison. After all, Little Ape possessed the bloodlines of both the Vajra Divine Ape and the Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape.

Having failed to get anywhere, Caiyi finally gave up. After cursing Lin Yun a few more times, she left the courtyard by herself.

Once only Lin Yun and Little Ape remained, Little Ape looked at him and said nonchalantly, ”That woman was really annoying.”

”Very annoying,” Lin Yun replied.

”But she’s no simple character.”

”You noticed that too?” Lin Yun asked.

”Mhm. Just a feeling.” After saying this, Little Ape lay back down on Lin Yun’s shoulder, resuming its lazy posture.

Aside from Lin Yun, Little Ape was cold and indifferent to everyone. This wasn’t an act; it was an aloofness that emanated from its very bones.

Little Ape’s bloodline destined it to be proud. Ordinary people were simply no match for it. Without even needing to cultivate—so long as it had sufficient resources and plenty of sleep—Little Ape could reach heights that most people could only dream of. Such were the benefits of a powerful bloodline.
