Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Caiyi

Inside the Main Hall, Luo Feng slowly explained his plan. After hearing it, the Six Supreme Elders first fell into silent contemplation. Then, one of the Supreme Elders chuckled and said, ”Not bad. I think this plan will work. But aren’t you worried about sending that kid alone?”

”That’s simple. One of us six can just go protect him in secret,” another Supreme Elder said upon hearing this.

”Then let me be the one to protect him.” In the end, the task of secretly protecting Lin Yun fell to the Supreme Elder who guarded Demon Beast Ridge.

Looking at this Supreme Elder, a faint smile flashed in Luo Feng’s eyes. Luo Feng knew him well. This Supreme Elder was the type to mind his own business, someone who had never cared for any of Flawless Palace’s affairs.

For him to volunteer to protect Lin Yun in secret this time showed just how highly he thought of the boy.

In truth, Luo Feng’s plan was very simple. Strictly speaking, it could be summed up in one word: underhanded.

According to Luo Feng, he once had a fleeting affair with the young miss of Jincheng’s most powerful family, the Mo Family. However, because the Mo Family’s young miss couldn’t accept Luo Feng’s philandering ways, their relationship didn’t last very long.

After they separated, the Mo Family’s young miss, Mo Qingshui, came to hate Luo Feng to the bone. Her resentment extended to Flawless Palace as well, so every time a disciple of Flawless Palace appeared in Jincheng, she would mercilessly drive them out.

To make matters worse, the Mo Family had deep connections to the Taiqing Academy, one of the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain. The Mo Family’s two ancestors were both Supreme Elders of the Taiqing Academy and existed at the Spirit Realm, so Flawless Palace could do nothing about Mo Qingshui.

Luo Feng’s idea was that in three months, it would be Mo Qingshui’s 100th birthday. He planned to have Lin Yun make a trip to Jincheng. Given Mo Qingshui’s personality and her hatred for Flawless Palace disciples, this should be a good way to test Lin Yun’s loyalty to the palace.

Now, don’t think that Mo Qingshui is old at one hundred. She is a Celestial Spirit Realm expert, and by the standards of a Celestial Spirit Realm lifespan, one hundred is still very young. Besides, could a woman who caught Luo Feng’s eye ever be ordinary? Mo Qingshui possessed a beauty that could outshine the moon and make flowers blush.

Luo Feng’s idea was indeed a good one. Under such circumstances, if Lin Yun could still staunchly defend the honor of Flawless Palace, then his loyalty would surely be beyond question, and his character would undoubtedly be top-notch.

”Mm, I think we should go with that. With an old fellow like you around, I don’t see there being any problems,” one of the Supreme Elders said with a smile.

”Alright, let’s do it then. For now, let Lin Yun stay at my place. After he returns from Jincheng, we’ll decide what to do next,” Luo Feng announced.

With the decision made, the Six Supreme Elders left one after another. As for Luo Feng, he naturally headed back to his own residence.

Back at his residence, Luo Feng’s quarters were the complete opposite of the Supreme Elder who guarded Demon Beast Ridge. Not only was the area immense, but the interior was also exceptionally luxurious.

Rock gardens, ponds, courtyards, pavilions—it had everything one could ask for. Even the decorations in every single room were exquisitely refined.

When Luo Feng returned, the young woman told him about Lin Yun’s condition. Thanks to the Healing Elixir, Lin Yun was no longer in serious danger and only needed a few days of rest.

”Mm, you’ll be in charge of taking care of him for a while then,” Luo Feng replied with a smile after listening to her.

”Me? Take care of him?” The young woman said, displeased. ”Senior Brother, are you kidding me? You want me to look after some little brat from the Primordial Ocean Realm?”

Senior Brother? Who would have thought that the young woman at Luo Feng’s residence was actually his junior sister? This was likely a secret known only to the Six Supreme Elders and the Main Seat Elder.

”Just go when I tell you to. Don’t forget what Master instructed you back then,” Luo Feng said directly, ignoring the young woman’s objections.

The young woman was Luo Feng’s junior sister, a secret within Flawless Palace known by no one besides the Six Supreme Elders and the Main Seat Elder.

The reason for this was entirely due to their master’s dying wish.

Although they were senior brother and junior sister, there was a large age gap between Luo Feng and the young woman. Her name was Caiyi, and she was a disciple their master had taken in his twilight years.

About twenty years ago, Caiyi had only been at the Primordial Ocean Realm. At the time, however, she was merely eighteen years old. Just imagine, the Primordial Ocean Realm at eighteen—what did that signify?

Back then, Luo Feng’s master had held immense hope for Caiyi. But good times never last. During a training expedition, Caiyi stumbled upon a Saint’s Relics by a stroke of luck.

Within these Saint’s Relics, Caiyi obtained the Saint’s inheritance.

But what no one expected was that after receiving the inheritance, Caiyi’s cultivation advanced by leaps and bounds, breaking through to the Celestial Spirit Realm in just one short year.

However, after she broke through to Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success, Caiyi began to change.

Every time she fought someone, Caiyi would become berserk and bloodthirsty, losing her mind until she had slain her opponent.

Sensing something was wrong, Luo Feng and their master tried many different methods but were unable to figure out why Caiyi was like this.

It wasn’t until just before his death that Luo Feng’s master finally found a clue—a clue about the Saint’s inheritance that Caiyi had obtained.

It turned out that the Saint’s inheritance Caiyi had received belonged to the utterly vicious Blood Slaughter Saint from ten thousand years ago. In his era, the Blood Slaughter Saint was infamously renowned for his cruelty, and the blood on his hands was immeasurable.

According to their master’s judgment, Caiyi’s condition was likely caused by the Blood Slaughter Saint’s Cultivation Technique. After all, her fighting style was very similar to the Blood Slaughter Saint’s as described in the Ancient Texts.

Having reached this point, their master made a final decision before he died: until a way to suppress it was found, Caiyi could not continue to practice the Blood Slaughter Saint’s Cultivation Technique. Otherwise, the eventual complete erosion of her mind would be irreversible.

Both Luo Feng and Caiyi heeded their master’s dying wish. For more than a decade, Caiyi did not cultivate for a single day. Her cultivation remained at Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success, and she never fought anyone. Over the years, Caiyi completely transformed into one of Luo Feng’s maids—at least, that was how it appeared to the people of Flawless Palace.

It was worth noting that, perhaps due to the Blood Slaughter Saint’s inheritance, Caiyi’s appearance hadn’t changed at all in over a decade. She still looked eighteen or nineteen, as if she couldn’t age.

Brusquely rejected by Luo Feng, Caiyi muttered in dissatisfaction, ”All you do all day is fool around with women. Now you’ve taken a disciple and you want your junior sister to wait on him for you. You really are some kind of Senior Brother...”

As she spoke, Caiyi walked out of the main hall. Watching her leave, Luo Feng shook his head with a smile. A sharp glint then flashed in his eyes as he murmured to himself, ’Junior Sister, perhaps this little guy is the one who can help you suppress the Blood Slaughter Saint’s inheritance.’
