Chapter 355: Chapter 355: Settled in 1 Move

To be honest, Lin Yun was jealous. And furious. Caiyi, who had been secretly following him, showed no sign of intervening when she saw the scene unfold. On the contrary, she looked rather excited.

’Hmph, you big lecher. Serves you right for getting beaten up. I’ll wait until you’re half-dead before I step in. I’ll let you have a good taste of suffering.’ Caiyi didn’t know the true extent of Lin Yun’s strength, so seeing him face several people alone, she didn’t think he could possibly win.

After all, Lin Yun’s Cultivation was only at the Sixth Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm. And weren’t all the Direct Disciples of Flawless Palace geniuses in their own right? Forget the Green Talent List; any Direct Disciple on the Yanhuang List was capable of sweeping the competition.

He walked toward the group of Direct Disciples step by step, a wicked smile perpetually on his face. Seeing Lin Yun’s unhurried approach, the lanky man in the lead laughed heartily. ”What’s this? Coming over to kowtow? HAHA.”

Hearing the lanky man, the men behind him also roared with laughter, their eyes filled with thick scorn for Lin Yun.

In the eyes of these Direct Disciples, Lin Yun was just some new kid in Flawless Palace who had no idea how deep the waters truly ran.

But what they didn’t know was that while Lin Yun had only been in Flawless Palace for a short time, he had already done several things that shocked the higher-ups. He had even managed to startle the Six Supreme Elders.

So, it wasn’t a question of how deep the waters of Flawless Palace ran. These people should have been wondering how deep Lin Yun’s own waters ran.

Unbridled laughter erupted from the group. After taking ten steps, the wicked smile on Lin Yun’s face intensified to its peak. His leisurely pace suddenly broke as he lunged forward. Before any of them could react, Lin Yun was already in front of them, leaving a trail of afterimages in his wake.

The speed he displayed alone was enough to leave them utterly stunned. And amidst their shock, Lin Yun showed no intention of holding back.

He felled the man in front of him with a single punch. Faced with Lin Yun’s Black Steel Tyrant Fist, the man had no power to resist. He spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying backward.

Like a tiger pouncing on a flock of sheep, in just over ten breaths, every Direct Disciple behind the lanky man had been knocked to the ground.

But it didn’t end there. After felling them, Lin Yun went to each one and stomped on their mouths, crushing them. Soon, the ground around them was littered with teeth, and blood gushed from every one of their mouths.

With his followers so easily defeated, the lanky man could no longer laugh. He knew from the strength Lin Yun had displayed that he was no match for him.

It was a joke. Lin Yun was invincible among those in the same Realm, and these people were a whole Realm beneath him. Even if they were geniuses, they stood no chance and were destined to be instantly defeated.

After dealing with the riffraff, Lin Yun walked up to the lanky man, the same smile on his face. But now, that smile sent a chill down the lanky man’s spine.

That’s just how people are. When you display a level of strength so far beyond their reach, all mockery and sarcasm instantly vanish. In the face of absolute power, all plots and schemes are useless.

The lanky man didn’t even have the courage to meet his gaze, his eyes darting about evasively. Lin Yun then asked, ”Can we talk properly now?”

”Yes, yes...” he answered, nodding like a chicken pecking at grain.

Lin Yun gently patted the lanky man’s shoulder with his right hand. The moment his hand made contact, Lin Yun could clearly feel the man shudder.

”Let me ask you a question. Should a man protect his own women?” Lin Yun asked with a slight smile. ’This guy really is a coward,’ he thought, but didn’t dwell on it.

”He should, he should...” the lanky man nodded in response.

”Good. So, if that’s the case, when someone tries to make a move on them, do you think I should cripple those people?” Lin Yun added with a smile.

”Well...” The lanky man fell silent. How was he supposed to answer that? If he said yes, wasn’t he just giving Lin Yun permission to cripple him?

He remained silent, but he had clearly underestimated Lin Yun’s methods. Before the lanky man could even react, Lin Yun had already kicked him in the stomach.

Lin Yun didn’t use any Martial Skill for the kick; it looked more like a common street brawl. Of course, paralyzed by fear, the lanky man didn’t react at all and was sent flying.

This group of the lanky man’s were bottom-feeders among the Direct Disciples. More importantly, they had poor character—accustomed to bullying the weak and flattering the strong. Intimidated by Lin Yun from the start, they had forgotten to even try to fight back with the strength they possessed.

After sending the lanky man flying with a kick, Lin Yun walked over, planted a foot on his chest, and looked down at him condescendingly. ”With this level of strength, you call yourselves Direct Disciples of Flawless Palace?”

Now it was Lin Yun’s turn to look at the lanky man with contempt. With blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, the man said, ”Yes, yes... so there’s no point in beating us. We’re just running errands for our Senior Brother.”

”I know,” Lin Yun said with a smile. ”But even errand boys have to be prepared to face the consequences.”

From the very first glance, Lin Yun had seen that the lanky man and his cronies were nothing more than errand boys. There were more powerful people above them, and those were Lin Yun’s true targets.

The only reason he had bothered to act at all was because he’d gotten jealous.

Caiyi, still hidden in the shadows, watched Lin Yun dispose of the group in a few swift moves. An annoyed expression crossed her face as she muttered, ’A bunch of good-for-nothings. So many of them, and they still couldn’t beat one person.’

Caiyi didn’t stop to think that if Lin Yun couldn’t even handle a group like this, then all his arduous training along the way would have been a complete waste.

As Caiyi watched, Lin Yun did just as he had with the others, bringing his foot down hard on the lanky man’s mouth. In an instant, the man’s teeth were sent flying.

After dealing with the men, Lin Yun acted nonchalantly. However, the scene had attracted the attention of quite a few passing Direct Disciples. A dozen or so were now standing in the distance, watching the spectacle.

At the same time, Lin Yun noticed two or three people hurriedly taking their leave, most likely to report back to someone.

’Excellent. I’ll take care of this all at once today.’ He didn’t stop the messengers. The appearance of the real masterminds was exactly what he wanted.

Watching the domineering and brutal scene unfold, some of the spectating Direct Disciples began to murmur amongst themselves.

”Who is this guy? He’s incredibly strong.”

”No idea. But didn’t you see Junior Sister Lu and Junior Sister Lan?”

”Hmm... you don’t think he’s that coward who’s been hiding in his shell, do you?”

”Hard to say, but I’d bet it’s him. Look at the way Junior Sister Lu and Junior Sister Lan are looking at him.”
