Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 90: Chapter 65: Finding a Backer (Third Update)

”Really? How come I didn’t think of that earlier?!” Crazy Girl smacked her forehead, ”Damn! I was blinded by beauty just now, what a sin!”

Lawrence Winters looked at her amusedly and shook his head.

Indeed, when women fall in love, their IQ drops drastically.

Lawrence remembered Kenneth Osborne’s sister, Brooke Osborne, and then glanced at Crazy Girl, who was usually shrewd but now clearly out of sorts, and he couldn’t help but sneer at the idea of romance.

But for Crazy Girl’s sake, he still took out his phone and sent a message to Kenneth Osborne.

At this moment, Kenneth Osborne had already returned to his desk.

Joyce Shaw had just come back, in an exceptionally good mood.

Not only did she proactively clean the dormitory, but she also volunteered to help Kenneth Osborne with his projects, sharing the workload and staying up late together.

She even ordered takeout with soup and water, planning to share it with Kenneth Osborne.

At this hour, it was difficult for takeout to enter the school, so he had to ride a bike to the school gate to pick it up himself.

The message from Lawrence Winters came in, but Kenneth Osborne didn’t see it immediately.

It wasn’t until thirty minutes later, when Joyce Shaw went to the school gate to pick up the takeout, that Kenneth Osborne glanced at his phone.

He just happened to see the WeChat message from Lawrence Winters.

He quickly opened WeChat.

[Nora]: Brother Kenneth, is Crazy Girl’s first official boyfriend Joyce your roommate or classmate? He said he lives in Room 308 on the 42nd floor.

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”.

Is she trying to gather intelligence for her roommate?

Kenneth Osborne slightly curled the corner of his mouth and replied: [Yes, Joyce is a good man, Crazy Girl is lucky].

By this time, Lawrence Winters was already asleep.

Kenneth Osborne waited for a while, but no reply came from Lawrence Winters, so he guessed she had fallen asleep too, and didn’t mind.

...

That night, some were too happy to sleep, while others were too angry to sleep.

Molly Zimmerman lay in a single-person ward in the school hospital, looking utterly dejected.

She didn’t want to return to that dorm anymore and had discussed with her parents that they’d soon come to Capital City to take her away from school for treatment.

Her thesis was finished, she had secured a job, there was no need to stay here and endure these people’s humiliation.

However, the recruitment event she coordinated for public relations still needed to be held as scheduled.

...

Molly Zimmerman’s parents were worried sick when they heard that their precious daughter had nearly drowned at Y University; they didn’t sleep all night and bought plane tickets right away to come and see her.

Unfortunately, tickets for the next day were sold out, and they could only get tickets for the third day.

Fearing something might happen to Molly Zimmerman with no one to look after her, her mother contacted her eldest sister, also the third wife of the big boss of Spencer Group, Hazel Winchester, to ask for help in checking on her at the school first.

Hazel Winchester certainly wouldn’t go herself; she held a significant position.

Seeing the message from her sister, she thought for a moment and called her daughter, Summer Spencer, over. ”Your cousin at Y University seems to be in some trouble, nearly drowned I heard. Go check on her at Y University tomorrow. Your aunt and uncle will arrive in Capital City the day after tomorrow.”

Summer Spencer raised an eyebrow, ”How did she almost drown? Just a few days ago she was reaching out, asking me to bring the company’s PR department to their department for a recruitment event.”

”Exactly, we don’t know what happened. Molly isn’t saying anything. I tried her phone just now, but no one answered,” Hazel Winchester sighed. ”It’s too late, I’m going to bed. Don’t forget to check on your cousin tomorrow.”

Summer Spencer agreed and went back to her room to rest.

Early the next morning, she got up and ran around the Spencer family estate’s lawn track for fifteen minutes before coming back for breakfast.

This was a habit she developed while studying abroad.

She maintained it even after returning home.

In the spacious American-style open kitchen, her sister Spring Spencer was already dressed in a DIOR professional outfit, eating freshly baked pancakes while looking at the company’s briefing.

”Morning, sis,” Summer Spencer sat down in front of her with a smile and waved for the maid to bring her breakfast. As she poured maple syrup over her waffles, she asked, ”When is our company going to Y University for a recruitment event this year?”

Spring Spencer blandly replied, ”That’s a matter for the HR department, not me.”

”Oh, I forgot, you’re the CFO in charge of finance, these little things aren’t your concern,” Summer Spencer winked at her, laughing lightly.

Spring Spencer was the daughter of Spencer Group’s big boss Cameron Spencer’s second wife, Ava Harlow, and was now Cameron Spencer’s right-hand woman.

She had no intention of engaging in a verbal battle with Summer Spencer.

After finishing breakfast, she packed her briefcase and called for the driver to bring the Rolls-Royce Phantom to the Spencer family estate entrance.
