Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 53: Chapter 45: There’s Always a Higher Mountain

Lawrence Winters looked at Kenneth Osborne, seeing that he had no objections, he tentatively asked Brooke Osborne, ”...If you trust me, could you sign that psychological consultation contract for Gregory Quinn?”

Both Brooke Osborne and Kenneth Osborne were taken aback.

”Sign? Sign what?” Brooke Osborne instinctively asked.

Kenneth Osborne said, ”Do you want my sister to forge Gregory Quinn’s signature?”

”Of course not, it’s for Sister Brooke to sign her own name. We’re not doing anything illegal.”

”Besides, even though the service object in the contract is Gregory Quinn, it’s also legitimate for Sister Brooke to be the signatory,” Lawrence Winters explained, showing the information he had found on his phone to Kenneth Osborne.

She said meaningfully, ”After all, you are still married...”

Kenneth Osborne glanced quickly, something clicked inside him, a hint of understanding flickered in his eyes.

Lawrence Winters then awkwardly said, ”Well, although we didn’t actually perform the exorcism earlier, we all went to your and Gregory Quinn’s home, and Gregory Quinn was shouting for my uncle’s help downstairs. Many people saw it...”

”So, whether it happened or not, only the five of us know. If all four of us say it did, and only Gregory Quinn denies it, no one would believe him, right?”

”Besides, he often shirks his debts, which is a known issue...”

The siblings exchanged a look, each pondering the situation.

Brooke Osborne was silent for a while, then smiled bitterly, ”...I don’t mind, but what’s the point of me signing? A person like him won’t acknowledge the debt and pay back anyway, and I don’t have money...”

”Sister, you finally see Gregory Quinn for what he truly is,” Kenneth Osborne said regretfully, ”But it’s a bit too late.”

Lawrence Winters smiled mysteriously, ”It’s alright, you just need to sign.”

”Will this really work?” Brooke Osborne was skeptical, ”What if Gregory Quinn pulls another trick and leaves me with the debt? You all know I already owe the bank half a million, and if I owe you another million, even selling myself wouldn’t be enough...”

”Sister Brooke, don’t worry. Since I dare to propose this plan, you won’t have to worry about repayment,” Lawrence Winters reassured her, almost pounding her chest, ”I’ve followed my uncle in consulting feng shui for years, and we’ve seen all kinds of scammers. Gregory Quinn is one with some education, but since he’s playing his tricks, we can play him at his own game!”

”It’s just about prenuptial and postnuptial assets, who do they think they’re dealing with...” Lawrence Winters laughed slyly.

Brooke Osborne was undecided, looking to Kenneth Osborne for help, ”A Yuan, what do you think?”

Kenneth Osborne silently gazed at Lawrence Winters.

Her fair little face was full of life, her large eyes shone with golden flecks in the winter sunlight, and her dark pupils seemed like a bottomless abyss, charming yet dangerous.

He felt as if something filled his heart, almost overflowing.

But he didn’t show anything, just gave a slight smile and gently squeezed Lawrence Winters’ hand, ”...I trust Nora. — Sister, you sign.”

Since Kenneth Osborne agreed, Brooke Osborne could only nod, though she wasn’t very certain at this point.

However, Lawrence Winters’ confident demeanor infected her.

Among the three of them, she was the most foolish, so what reason did she have to doubt two people who were smarter than her?

Furthermore, she trusted that Lawrence Winters wouldn’t deceive her like Gregory Quinn did, because there was no reason to.

...

The three of them returned to Temple Court Residential Area and went directly to Lawrence Winters’ home.

Nick Zeller had already returned and was drinking tea with Gabrielle Winters in the living room, talking about what had happened earlier.

Gabrielle Winters hadn’t had time to express anything before Lawrence Winters entered with Brooke Osborne and Kenneth Osborne.

She smiled and said, ”Mom, get some fruit for Brother Far and Sister Brooke... I have something to discuss with Uncle.”

Gabrielle Winters, knowing what had happened earlier, said nothing further, and with a bright smile, she got up, ”Brooke, come to the kitchen with me to see what fruits you and A Yuan like, and pick them yourself.”

Brooke Osborne quickly followed Gabrielle Winters to the kitchen.

Kenneth Osborne sat alone in the living room.

Lawrence Winters pulled Nick Zeller into a small guest room on the first floor, near the inside, for a private conversation.

”Nora, what have you gotten yourself into this time?” Nick Zeller looked at her warily.

Just looking at her sycophantic little face, he knew it couldn’t be anything good!

”I’m not getting into anything, I’m doing good deeds and helping others to the end.” Lawrence Winters smiled and looked at him, approaching with the contract in hand, ”Uncle, look, I got Sister Brooke to sign this contract!”

”She really signed it?! That’s a million we’re talking about!” Nick Zeller was so excited he nearly had a heart attack, ”Does she have the money? Can Gregory Quinn pay up?!”
