Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 65: Chapter 51: Implications and Offense

The Three Billion Sister finally turned away from the mirror, nodded at her, and gave a very perfunctory business-like smile, then turned to Molly Zimmerman and said, ”Molly, I need to buy clothes again. Sigh, I’m still growing...”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Molly Zimmerman was already used to this, and said with a smile, ”That’s just how the Three Billion Sister is; don’t take it to heart.”

Lawrence Winters hurriedly shook her head, ”I didn’t take it to heart, I still remember the nickname ’Mad Woman’.”

She naturally shifted the topic to the girl whose bed was next to hers and said with a smile, ”Mad Woman is a romance fanatic online, and her last name is Chu. Because of the line from the poem, ’I am Chu’s madman, laughing at Confucius as I sing like a phoenix,’ her classmates nicknamed her ’Mad Woman.’ She loves breaking up and making up with people online but never meets them in real life, right?”

Mad Woman reluctantly lifted her head from her phone and smiled at her, ”True, true, you’re really part of our dorm; you haven’t been here many times, yet you remember it so clearly!”

Molly Zimmerman was a bit surprised at Lawrence Winters’ ability to ease awkwardness, but she just pondered it for a moment inside, then quickly pointed to a bed by the window and said, ”That’s your spot, do you remember? Every time we clean, we help clean your area too!”

The four-person dorm was spacious, with a shared bathroom and a small living-dining area just on a small rectangular piece of land by the door.

Lawrence Winters nodded at them and walked towards her bed.

Molly Zimmerman followed and continued to enthusiastically ask, ”Lawrence, are you going to live on campus?”

Lawrence Winters nodded while walking to the area under her bed and started making her bed.

Molly Zimmerman watched her smilingly for a while and then said, seemingly inadvertently, ”... Lawrence, are you from River City in Central South Province?”

Lawrence Winters bent over to spread the sheets while casually answering, ”Yeah, I’m from River City in Central South Province. You really remember clearly, Room Leader, even though we don’t know each other well. I’m truly flattered!”

”That’s because I’m also from Central South Province, but I’m from the provincial capital, not the lower-level cities.” Molly Zimmerman was amused and leaned against the windowsill, watching Lawrence Winters take out new clothes from her luggage and put them in the wardrobe next to her desk. She continued asking, ”Did you graduate from River City’s No. 1 Middle School?”

”Yes.” Lawrence Winters straightened up, sat in her computer chair, and said with a smile, ”Anything else you want to ask, Room Leader? Feel free to ask all at once!”

”I don’t really have anything else to ask; we’re dorm-mates, so getting to know each other will make living together easier.” Molly Zimmerman laughed more generously and then walked over to her bed by the door, put on her backpack, waved at them, and said, ”I’m off to the library; I’ll be back tonight. Remember not to go to bed too early.”

”It’s the first day of school, and the Room Leader is off to the library—a true role model for all of us.” Mad Woman waved at her, then took her phone and said to the Three Billion Sister, ”Three Billion Sister, check out this trending topic—it’s so interesting.”

”What trending topic?” Three Billion Sister was applying a face mask while leaning over to look at Mad Woman’s phone, then read it out word by word: ”#Are you a cat girl or a dog girl#, hmm, not bad...”

The two of them giggled as they looked at the trending topic on the phone.

Lawrence Winters waited until Molly Zimmerman left before resuming her tidying up.

When Mad Woman and Three Billion Sister finished laughing, they saw Lawrence Winters still quietly organizing her stuff and asked her, ”Lawrence, do you want to take the test?”

”Test what?” Lawrence Winters closed the wardrobe door and asked curiously.

”Test whether you’re a cat girl or a dog girl!—It’s quite interesting!” Mad Woman enthusiastically prepared to ask.

”What’s a cat girl, and what’s a dog girl?” Lawrence Winters was eager to learn.

Mad Woman cradled her face and said, ”Cat girls are mainly charming and playful, dog girls are innocent and cute. What about you? Which type do you belong to?”

Lawrence Winters pondered and said, ”I don’t have the charm of a cat girl, nor the innocence of a dog girl. I just eat, drink, and sleep well...”

So she asked seriously, ”...Is there a test for pig girls? I think...”

Mad Woman was stunned, then pouted and interrupted, ”...Pig girls? I feel indirectly offended...”

Three Billion Sister said thoughtfully, ”Feels a bit offended...”

Then the two of them got up together, jumped on Lawrence Winters, and started tickling her, laughing and saying, ”...Let us show you what a pig girl is like!”

Lawrence Winters was most afraid of being tickled and immediately laughed until she was breathless and almost rolled over on the bed.

The three of them had fun together and quickly became acquainted.

The Three Billion Sister and Mad Woman were a bit curious about Lawrence Winters and started asking her, ”...You haven’t attended class for three and a half years, so why are your grades still so good?”

”Honor student sister, could you help your sisters out this year?”

Lawrence Winters spread her hands and curiously said, ”I don’t find it very difficult... In our major, we don’t need to learn complex mathematics; just memorization will do...”

The Three Billion Sister and Mad Woman looked at her with long faces and said in unison, ”You’re indirectly criticizing us slackers again!”

Lawrence Winters couldn’t help but laugh as she hugged each roommate’s shoulder and said with a smile, ”Of course not! How about this, for the next exam, I’ll help highlight the crucial points for you, okay?”

”Now that’s more like it.” Three Billion Sister and Mad Woman were satisfied and hummed songs as they got up, going back to their desks under their beds.

The Three Billion Sister continued looking in the mirror, while Mad Woman’s QQ on her computer started buzzing enthusiastically.

Lawrence Winters took out a bottle of water for a sip, and then her phone rang.

She checked it and saw it was a call from her uncle.
