Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 89: Chapter 64: Don’t Be Afraid, Just Go for It (Second Update)

”None of them.” Caroline blushed, honestly saying, ”...It’s my fault. I didn’t expect you to be so handsome. As soon as I saw you, it was a reflex to turn off the video.”

Her voice grew softer, ”...I never thought I’d be so lucky.”

”Ah? Really? Is that true?” Joyce was overjoyed.

Earlier, he thought Caroline didn’t like his looks and that’s why she turned off the video right after seeing him.

Now he found out that she didn’t dislike him, but liked him so much that she couldn’t believe it...

He couldn’t help but stand up from his seat, excitedly saying quickly to Caroline, ”My name is Joyce Shaw, I’m a third-year master’s student in computer science at Yan University, about to graduate. I know your name is Caroline Caldwell, you’re a senior in public relations at Yan University, also about to graduate. I’ve liked you for a long time. Can you come out and meet me?”

Caroline almost instinctively nodded and agreed, ”Sure, sure...”

Only after saying it did she remember, ”Our building door closes at eleven, and now there are... fifteen minutes left!”

”I’ll be right there!” Joyce said excitedly, grabbing his phone, turning off the video, putting on his coat, and running out like the wind.

Kenneth Osborne held his forehead with one hand, finding it hard to believe that his roommate, who was just lamenting with him moments ago, might soon be off the singles’ list.

Not long after, Joyce, who had just run out, ran back and rummaged through his cabinet, finding a pile of snacks and fruits he had bought that morning, packed them into a reusable cloth bag, and dashed out.

Kenneth: ”...”

Buying things for someone on the first meeting, and he claims he’s never been in love.

Kenneth inwardly scorned Joyce for such contradictory behavior.

...

Joyce rode a bicycle, taking five minutes to arrive downstairs at Caroline’s place on the 38th floor.

He messaged her on QQ: ”Come down!”

Caroline was completely in a daze for those five minutes.

So much so that when Joyce asked her to come downstairs, she just ran down wearing thick coral fleece loungewear and cotton slippers.

Joyce’s heart was pounding until he saw Caroline’s figure appear in front of the dorm building, and only then did his heart return to its place.

Caroline spotted right away the tall guy standing under the big tree across, goofily holding a reusable cloth bag in his hand.

Caroline’s muddled mind instantly cleared up.

She tried to hold back her laughter, but her mouth corner uncontrollably lifted.

Joyce carefully examined her, noticing her face was red, like a freshly bloomed peach blossom in March, her almond-shaped eyes were bright and clear, her eyelids and brows tinged with a blush.

Her hair was a bit messy, clearly not having had time to brush it.

She was dressed in a somewhat bulky coral fleece loungewear, even wearing slippers on her feet!

This meant she ran down immediately upon seeing his message.

Didn’t even have time to dress up.

What a silly girl.

Joyce’s heart softened, feeling both tender towards her and annoyed at himself for not thinking it through for her.

It’s so late already, the weather’s still so cold, couldn’t he wait until tomorrow to see her?

Thinking of this, Joyce immediately took big steps forward, getting to the dorm door, handing over the reusable cloth bag in his hand, stammering a bit, ”...This is some snacks and fruit, I didn’t know what you like, so I got a variety.”

Caroline stupidly took it, just looking up at him with a smile, not knowing what to say.

It seemed like there was so much to say, yet she didn’t know how to express it.

Her chest filled to the brim, her mind even more dizzy, as if wandering in clouds and mist, unable to find a place to land.

Joyce saw her like this, his heart filled with joy too.

He liked it when she chatted wittily online, and now seeing her all goofy and speechless, he liked it too.

She’s a girl whose every look and personality grew according to his preferences.

How did he ever deserve such a girl that matches his heart at this youthful age?

He almost wanted to hug her now and tell her he likes her, likes her very much.

Of course, he didn’t dare to do this.

Hastily pushed the cloth bag filled with snacks and fruits into her hands, then considerately said, ”You better go up, the door’s about to close, and it’s cold, you’re not wearing a coat.”

Caroline cleared her throat, hoarsely saying, ”...Okay, I’ll go up now.”

She turned to head inside the building, suddenly remembered something, ran back and asked, ”...How did you know I live here? How did you find out?”

”Your dorm’s IP,” Joyce said with a smile, adding, ”I have no ill intentions, I knew it was you... before chatting. I’m also a student here, I live in room 308 on the 42nd floor, this is my student card and ID.”

”Ha! You’ve known me for a long time!” Caroline’s eyes lit up, ”So cunning! — I like it!”

Joyce was startled, then delighted again.

His heart was made to go up and down by Caroline, and even when leaving, he looked back with every few pedal strokes on the bike.

And Caroline just stood at the dorm entrance, waving continuously until his bike was out of sight, then she went back to the dorm.

Now in their dorm, only Lawrence Winters, Molly, and herself remained.

Carrying the reusable cloth bag inside, she sighed and said, ”Our dorm might be meant for only three people.”

Previously, when Lawrence wasn’t living here, she got along well with Molly and the others.

Now that Lawrence is back, Molly has gone hospitalized.

Lawrence didn’t want to mention Molly, she winked at Caroline with a smile, ”Caroline, did you interrogate him on how he knew your real identity?”

”...He said he checked our dorm’s IP,” Caroline shyly took out the snacks and fruits from the bag and shared them with Lawrence and Molly, ”He’s also a student here, living in room 308 on the 42nd floor.”

Lawrence: ”...That dorm number sounds so familiar.”

Then her eyes widened, ”...Wait! That’s Kenneth’s dorm number! Is he Kenneth Osborne’s dorm mate?!”
