Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 130: 130 Many first times (4)_1

Gu Jizhou bowed very respectfully, ”Great-Grandfather, I know I was wrong.”

The old master looked at him, took a deep breath, and spoke with heartfelt sincerity, ”You should settle down too. I think Miss Du is quite good. Since you brought her home, don’t let her down; and from now on, don’t let me hear about you flirting around, or I’ll break your legs!”

Gu Jizhou lowered his head. What if Great-Grandfather found out that one day he and his uncle fell in love with the same woman? What would happen then?

Would he break his legs, or his uncle’s?

He also knew that he had disappointed Great-Grandfather in these past years. If that day really did come, would Great-Grandfather still protect him as he used to?

With that thought, he looked up at the old master, ”Yes, Great-Grandfather.”

The old master closed his eyes, ”In the future, avoid dealing too much with people from the Qin Family to prevent any disadvantage.”

”I remember, Great-Grandfather,” Gu Jizhou said obediently.

”As long as you’ve learned your lesson.” The old master opened his eyes, surveyed Gu Jizhou, and looked uncomfortable at the sight of the dress in his hand, ”The Du Family is no ordinary family; in the future, don’t cause trouble over some wild women.”

”It won’t happen again,” Gu Jizhou said as he helped the old master go outside for a walk.

After walking for a while, the old master found a pavilion to rest in and looked at Gu Jizhou, ”What was going on between you and your uncle yesterday?”

Gu Jizhou dared not meet the old master’s gaze. He hesitated for a few seconds and then laughed softly, ”I can’t hide anything from Great-Grandfather.”

The old master looked at Gu Jizhou with furrowed brows.

Gu Jizhou raised his head, looking at the old master, his voice a few notches lower, ”My uncle has always been on good terms with Brother Qin Shaojin.”

The old master heard the implications and frowned without saying a word.

Gu Jizhou glanced at the bandaged wound on his arm, ”Actually, this injury on my arm was bitten by the commander. Yesterday, my uncle was not around, so I had the commander stay with Qin Shaojin.”

The old master raised his eyebrows, ”Who asked you to go looking for trouble at someone’s doorstep!”

”...”

Gu Jizhou lowered his head, assuming an apologetic manner, knowing that by saying this, Great-Grandfather would not pursue the matter further.

As expected, the old master said nothing more and looked toward the calm lake surface, ”Yuesheng seems quite nice. When do you plan to get engaged?”

”In a while,” Gu Jizhou’s eyes darkened slightly.

The old master looked at Gu Jizhou, ”The Du Family is good, and they can even help you in your career in the future. The girl is very good; treat her well.”

”Yes, Great-Grandfather,” Gu Jizhou answered, unwilling to continue with the topic. He sought the old master’s advice on the details of dealing with GY International, each word aimed straight at the old master’s heart.

Much to his satisfaction, the old master nodded, ”That’s the way to do business, to have limits and not just look at the money.”

After spending the morning with the old master and having lunch, he excused himself on account of being busy with company affairs and left.

Huo Jinxue saw Gu Jizhou leave and glanced at Huo Jinbei, ”I hate these kind of bootlickers, always causing trouble and then running to grandfather to cling to his coattails and clean up their mess!”

Huo Jinbei signaled Huo Jinxue to lower her voice.

Huo Jinxue pouted discontentedly and went straight upstairs to her room.

Huo Jinbei went out, told Gu Jizhou to drive safely on his way, and then gently knocked on Huo Jinxue’s room door.

Huo Jinxue opened the door and flopped onto her bed, ”Hypocrite!”

With a smile, Huo Jinbei sat down beside her, ”You, as his younger aunt, why are you clashing with the junior?”

”When has he ever treated me with the respect due to an elder? Hmph, just like big sister!” Huo Jinxue gripped her iPad and slashed fiercely at the fruit game, slash slash slash!
