Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 109: 109 His purpose (3)_1

Gu Jizhou listened and laughed self-deprecatingly, ”So this was your plan all along!”

”I’m not joking. Du Yuesheng has always liked you, you know that. I believe she’s willing to play along with this farce. Just let it be.”

Huo Jinyun stood ready to make a phone call, but Gu Jizhou grasped her arm.

She looked at Gu Jizhou, ”Fine, you choose. I make the call, or you can take Che Huan inside right now. I won’t stop you!”

Gu Jizhou held Huo Jinyun’s arm, gripping it tightly before slowly letting go.

Huo Jinyun watched Gu Jizhou as she stood there and called Du Yuesheng, ”Yuesheng, are you free today?”

——”Auntie, what’s the matter?”

Huo Jinyun chuckled, her voice elegant and dignified, ”Here’s the thing, Jizhou would like to take you to meet his great-grandfather today. I was worried that you might have a family banquet and wouldn’t be free, so I specially called to ask.”

Du Yuesheng was overjoyed upon hearing this and flew into the dressing room, ”Auntie, I’m free. I’ll be over shortly.”

Upon hearing the response, Huo Jinyun looked at Gu Jizhou with satisfaction. Her son was so desirable to women; how could he lack admirers? She wondered if he was missing a screw or had his head caught in a door, fixated on Che Huan all these years as if seeking life or death!

Gu Jizhou stood there smoking, frowning as he stared at his own shadow on the ground.

Huo Jinyun glanced at him and then looked away, her voice mellow and pleasant, ”Jizhou, there’s some business at the company, and you’ve been rather busy lately, without the time to pick her up. Could you have her come directly to Grandfather Huo’s place? He will be waiting for you at the entrance, okay?”

——”Okay, Auntie, goodbye. I’ll get ready first.”

——”Mmh, make sure you look pretty.”

After ending the call, Huo Jinyun turned to Gu Jizhou, ”You just wait here for her. I’ll go in and inform your great-grandfather.”

”Has my uncle not arrived yet?” Gu Jizhou looked at Huo Jinyun, unable to help himself from confirming once again.

”Not yet, he might not come back today.” Huo Jinyun looked at Gu Jizhou, sensing something odd about him recently. After a pause, she asked in a low voice, ”There’s nothing between you and your uncle, right?”

Gu Jizhou took a drag of his cigarette, diverting his gaze, ”No, just asking.”

Huo Jinyun didn’t believe him. Her gaze settled on Gu Jizhou, observing him for several minutes, ”If there is something, tell me. Don’t provoke your uncle!”

Gu Jizhou looked at Huo Jinyun, ”There’s really nothing. We’re family, just asking.”

”I hope so!” Huo Jinyun eyed Gu Jizhou for a while, still not quite at ease, and entered the yard suspiciously.

Gu Jizhou stood there, smoking for a while. He looked at his watch, then walked back to where his car was parked, casting a glance at the white Ferrari before approaching and opening the door.

Suddenly, he froze completely!

The car was empty, not a soul inside!

”Che Huan!”

He called out, looking in the back seat, but there wasn’t a trace of anyone.

It was just a quarter of an hour, and the doors were still locked; how could she have left? Where could she go?

Gu Jizhou stood there, his body rigid, taking a while to snap out of it. He looked at the black Bentley beside him. Could his uncle have already arrived?

Hadn’t his mother said that he hadn’t come back yet?

After standing for a while, he picked up his phone and called Huo Qichang, ”Grandfather, has my uncle returned yet?”

Huo Qichang glanced at the old master who was keeping his eyes closed, ”Not yet, and he might not be able to come back today. Uncle Lu brought Xiaowei over. By the way, Jizhou, when will you be arriving?”

”Grandfather, I’ll be there in about an hour.”

Gu Jizhou hung up the phone, frowning as he stared at the car, checking the door carefully. There were no signs of forcible entry. How did Che Huan leave?
