Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 110: 110 His purpose (4)_1

Huo Jinnan really didn’t come back?

Who else could have taken Che Huan away so quietly but Huo Jinnan? He couldn’t think of anyone else!

He stood there, dialing Che Huan’s cell phone, it connected, but no one answered.

After about ten seconds, the call was hung up.

He glanced at the old house, stood there, took a drag on his cigarette, drove around the area, saw no cars parked around, picked up his cell phone and called Huo Jinnan, ”Uncle, great-grandfather has been waiting for you, when are you coming back?”

”An hour later.”

Huo Jinnan glanced at Che Huan staring at him, hung up the phone, and placed it on the bed, his slender fingers slightly loosening his tie.

Che Huan stood by and looked around at the unfamiliar room, ”Where is this?”

”My room.” Huo Jinnan took off his suit, threw it on the bed, sat down at the bedhead, and looked in Che Huan’s direction.

His room?

Che Huan furrowed her brows, watching Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan’s eyes swept over Che Huan.

Che Huan had the illusion of unintentionally falling into an abyss, seemingly involuntarily caught up in the resentment between him and Gu Jizhou!

She took a deep breath and moved back a bit, ”You...”

Before she could say ’what are you doing,’ Huo Jinnan tossed the lighter on the bed, his voice low, ”Help me light a cigarette.”

Che Huan sighed in relief, got off the bed, and took the lighter to his side.

Huo Jinnan’s slender fingers held a cigarette, placed between his thin lips, as he looked up at Che Huan.

Che Huan flicked several times before finally igniting the lighter and bringing the flame close to the tip of his cigarette.

Huo Jinnan, ”First time lighting a cigarette for a man?”

Che Huan nodded, ”First time.”

Huo Jinnan leaned in as the cigarette tip sparked and took a light drag, sitting up straight.

Che Huan moved her arm away, extinguished the lighter, and set it aside.

”Sit down, I won’t eat you,” Huo Jinnan said, glancing at the spot beside him.

Since he said so, he probably wouldn’t do anything to her, right?

Che Huan silently sat down beside him, and for some reason, she felt he was a bit different today, his eyes hiding too many emotions, like a lurking beast in the flood, seemingly ready to erupt at any moment, involuntarily making her heart race in fear!

Huo Jinnan sat there, shifting his gaze away, slowly smoking his cigarette.

Che Huan sat beside him, watching.

The bluish smoke curled around his slender, bony fingers, drifting upward in spirals, creating an indescribable aesthetic.

She had never seen a man’s act of smoking could be so sexy and charming!

Suddenly, Gu Jizhou’s words inexplicably flashed through her mind, ”By the way, meet my uncle, he’s a man that women find fascinating.”

Huo Jinnan glanced at Che Huan, ”Have you had enough of staring?”

Realizing she had been gazing at him absent-mindedly for far too long, Che Huan quickly averted her eyes, her face turning embarrassingly red, not sure what had gotten into her!

”Hand me the ashtray.”

Hearing the man’s deep and magnetic voice, Che Huan stood up, took the ashtray from the bedside and handed it to him.

Huo Jinnan lowered his eyes, pinched out the cigarette that was almost burnt to the end, threw it in the ashtray, touched the cigarette pack, played with it in his hands for a while, and a new cigarette appeared between his fingers as he looked in Che Huan’s direction.

Che Huan watched from the side, stood still for a moment, then stood up again to light the cigarette for him.

Huo Jinnan watched Che Huan for a while before asking in a low voice, ”Why did you come here with him?”

Che Huan looked down, fiddled with her bangs, ”He promised to sign the divorce agreement, I didn’t know beforehand that the place we were coming to was here.”
