Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Zhong Qin smiled at the little one, her heart warming, ”Xiaowei, do you care for Grandma now?”

Huo Qichang gently coughed, but Zhong Qin ignored him and continued to talk affectionately with the little one. Even Huo Jinxue, who usually reacted a bit slower, sensed something amiss, ”Xiaowei, don’t you miss your little aunt?”

The little one turned his head, looking arrogantly at Huo Jinxue, ”A little, I guess, it’s fine.”

Huo Jinbei walked over, playfully tugged the little one’s neck, ”What about little uncle then?”

Remembering how he had specifically asked his little uncle to come to school to teach him how to add someone to the blacklist last time, the little one pursed his lips and graciously said, ”Of course I missed you.”

Huo Jinbei picked up the little one and sat beside the old man, ”Have you been missing your sweetheart lately?”

The little one’s ears reddened, and he glared at Huo Jinbei.

Huo Jinbei laughed softly, ”Alright, little uncle won’t say anymore.”

The old man looked at the little one, speaking ingratiatingly, ”Xiaowei, do you have a little girlfriend?”

The little one nodded his head, crisply stating, ”The relationship hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.”

Huo Jinyun laughed upon hearing this, ”Our Xiaowei is so handsome; surely he must have quite a few little girls lining up, right?”

The little one didn’t really want to pay attention to Huo Jinyun, as if he hadn’t heard her at all, and turned his head to Zhong Qin, ”Grandma, it’s stuffy here, the weather is nice outside, let’s go for a walk.”

Huo Jinyun sat there awkwardly, her face looking particularly bad as she blushed with embarrassment.

The old man stayed quiet, clearly in a much lower mood, his complexion darkening as well.

Seeing this, Huo Qichang promptly said, ”Xiaowei, why don’t you take great-grandfather’s hand and go for a walk?”

The little one looked at Huo Qichang unhappily, ”Let great-aunt and great-grandfather go for a walk, I will go with Grandma to the lakeside.”

This attitude—

Huo Jinxue silently cheered from the sidelines, worthy of being brother’s offspring, liking and disliking were just that simple!

She and their third brother weren’t nearly as cool as this little one!

The old man’s face changed momentarily and was quickly covered up, ”It’s okay, Xiaoqin, you go take a walk with Xiaowei, I am old now, my energy isn’t great, I can’t walk much anymore.”

Zhong Qin gave the old man a forced smile and looked at the little one.

The little one bounced over and took her hand, ”Let’s go, let’s take a walk outside.”

The two of them, one big and one small, headed out the door like that.

Huo Qichang looked at the old man, ”Dad, about Xiaoqin...”

The old man closed his eyes and leaned back on the sofa, ”I’m fine, you call Anan and ask when he will be coming.”

Huo Qichang said ”Yes” and called Huo Jinnan.

The old man listened from the side, taking a long time to let out a sigh, then turned to Huo Jinyun beside him, ”Why hasn’t Jizhou come yet?”

”He had some things at the company this morning and got delayed, he said he’d be here soon.” Huo Jinyun moved closer, carefully massaging the old man’s shoulders.

The old man grunted in acknowledgment and sat there, not saying much more, obviously unhappy.

After finishing the call, Huo Qichang brewed a cup of tea for the old man and brought it to him, ”This is fresh tea from Yunnan, Dad, try some.”

The old man took a sip but found it tasteless and set it aside, unable to muster any interest.

Huo Qichang made another call to Huo Jinnan, ”Come over earlier if you can.”

”It should be around twelve o’clock.” Huo Jinnan finished speaking, hung up the phone immediately, and sat in his car, his eyes dark and unclear.
