Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 124: 124 Had a nightmare?_1

He looked up at Huo Jinnan’s room, his eyes becoming increasingly dark and fierce.

————Huo Jinnan’s Room————

The weather was indeed hot and stuffy, and it was easy to feel sleepy at noon. Having only leaned back for a short while, Che Huan fell asleep at the head of the bed, waking up after two o’clock.

She sat in the bedroom, bored to death, taking in Huo Jinnan’s bedroom. It was a simple black and white design, with nothing more than a bed and a television set across the room; there were no other decorations present.

Thinking about the sparse clothing hanging in the wardrobe, she figured he probably didn’t stay here much.

He wasn’t around, and she didn’t dare watch TV for fear of being heard and getting into big trouble if someone barged in.

Fortunately, there was the team leader, who kept her company the whole time.

Che Huan looked at the team leader and stroked its shiny, smooth fur.

The team leader stretched languidly, changed its posture, and leaned comfortably against Che Huan, occasionally nibbling on her dress.

Che Huan saw it wasn’t being serious, and since there was no one else in the room, she let it chew for a while. Then suddenly recalling that the dress she was wearing was bought by Gu Jizhou, she hastily pushed the team leader away, ”This dress needs to be returned. Even if it’s ruined, my entire year’s salary wouldn’t be enough to pay for it. Will you compensate me?”

Hearing this, the team leader quickly released the dress and didn’t bite it again, frighteningly nibbling on Che Huan’s fingers while glancing up at her.

Che Huan was charmed by its appearance, looking down at the team leader and teasing it on purpose, ”Or maybe you should abandon him and take me as your master from now on. Even if I go broke, I’ll still take care of you.”

The team leader gazed at Che Huan seriously, without giving any indication of agreement.

She didn’t expect it to be so loyal. Che Huan tugged at the team leader’s tail, ”Then you should stop coming to find me casually from now. If someone sees you, it won’t look good; they might get the wrong idea!”

The team leader glanced at Che Huan and then walked away to lie down elsewhere, ignoring her.

Che Huan, ”...”

These days, even dogs had temperaments, and quite significant ones at that!

She tried to appease the team leader, but it wasn’t having any of it. Left with no choice, she leaned against the headboard, watched the team leader for a while, and then looked unfocused at the ceiling, wondering when she would be able to leave this place, leave his room, leave the Huo Mansion.

Thinking back, she found it odd that she had never heard Gu Jizhou mention anything about the Huo family and his uncle before!

But, from now on, it had nothing to do with her anymore! Whether it was the Huo family, Gu Jizhou, or Huo Jinnan!

However...

Looking at the team leader, she really wanted to steal Huo Jinnan’s dog.

After her mind wandered chaotically for a while, Che Huan leaned against the headboard and fell asleep again.

Huo Jinnan entered with dinner and saw her leaning her head against the headboard, her waterfall-like long hair cascading down and covering half her face. He put the dinner aside, gently brushed her hair behind her ear, bent down to lift her into bed, and covered her with a silk blanket.

Feeling suddenly cooler all over, Che Huan frowned and tugged at the blanket in her dream, snuggling herself up tightly.

In a daze, it was that dream again.

She woke up abruptly, realizing that it was him in the dream.

She... What was happening to her? How could she have dreamed of him in his own room?

”Awake?” Huo Jinnan asked, looking at Che Huan, whose face was slick with sweat, not knowing what she had dreamed of.

At the sound of his voice, Che Huan came to her senses and turned her head to see the golden sunlight filtering through the window, casting a silhouette upon his handsome face, radiating an allure that penetrated deep into the bones!

Che Huan quickly averted her gaze.

Suddenly, Huo Jinnan reached out and gripped her chin, turning her face toward him.

Che Huan froze on the spot.

In the quiet bedroom, only her breathing could be heard as Huo Jinnan’s eyes, filled with a somber hue, stared at Che Huan and he asked in a low voice, ”Had a nightmare?”
