Chapter 2189: Last Resort

The battle got even more intense, and Alderman’s emotions started to leak even more. He sensed the desperation from the former Executive Administrator, desperate to protect the eye as if the eye were his life.

Tang Shaoyang found this strange, but it convinced him that the eye was the key to killing Alderman. He tried to create more Chaos Blades, even imbuing them with the intent of Absolute Domination Energy. He thought that would work to break the defense, but he was wrong.

Not only did he fail to break the magma meatball, but his Chaos Blade was absorbed into the magma, turning it into magma that would reinforce the defense further.

It didn’t stop there; the magma was drawing more magma from the sea of magma. It looked like a reverse waterfall as the meatball got bigger and bigger.

Tang Shaoyang created some distance as he used Heaven Shattering Palm. The Seventh Gate of Heavenly Vermilion and the Ninth Gate of Heavenly Azure Dragon were still active. He created the golden flame palm that was shrouded by the Azure Dragon. He then sent the palm toward the eye.

Alderman appeared before the eye and responded similarly, drawing more magma from below into his hand, creating a similar-sized magma palm. The palm met in the air and exploded.

The Heavenly Energy, the golden flame, and the dark-stained magma burst apart in the sky. Alderman stopped the Heaven Shattering Palm this time.

However, Tang Shaoyang had prepared more this time. Not just a few, but a barrage of Heaven Shattering Palms.

Alderman defended the eye as if it were his life. Palm after palm clashed, which started to change the landscape with the impact. It was more than thirty Heaven Shattering Palm, and yet, Alderman managed to stop them all.

He defended the eye with his own body in the last five Heaven Shattering Palms, and his body was crumbling. He lost his hands and lower part, a chunk of his head also gone, and a hole on his chest.

The former Executive Administrator drew more magma to repair the damage, but it kept crumbling. The crumbling magma body was floating in front of the meatball as it was losing its ability to move.

Tang Shaoyang used Blink and arrived right in front of the magma ball. He was so close to the magma that he could reach the outer shell with a stretch.

The defense was quite impressive, so his Chaos Blades could not pierce this shell. It was a combination of the Chaos Energy and Absolute Domination Energy, which usually overpowered the enemy’s defense, yet rendered it useless against this magma meatball.

Golden flame ablaze in his right hand, as a mini version of Heavenly Azure Dragon coiled around his right hand. He also imbued the Absolute Domination Energy skill into the technique. That was to ensure the shell.

He raised his hand and was about to strike the shell, but tendrils shot out from it. More than twenty tendrils formed and reached him, binding every part of his body. Five tendrils coiled on each hand, more on his body and legs, and one on his neck.

That totally caught him off guard, not expecting such a move from Alderman. He didn’t think the magma shell was so flexible since it was focusing on protecting the eye.

In that moment, his Absolute Sense was screaming at him. This was the first time that his Absolute Sense was warning him like this. The source of the danger was the magma shell, or maybe the eye beyond the shell was the source of the danger. Whatever it was, his instinct told him to run away.

Tang Shaoyang tried to break free, trying to shift his attributes into Strength and Agility. That was when he found out that he could not use his skill again. These tendrils seemed to have the same trait as the sea of magma, or maybe the eye’s ability.

Just like an alarm, Absolute Sense kept sending a warning to him. The warning was getting more intense, and the heat shot up. He tried to use Spirit Switch. He planned to switch places and then recalled the spirit back, but it didn’t work. He tried to access his World of Beast Spirit. It didn’t work either.

Tang Shaoyang could feel the tendril was getting stronger, holding him still. He could not budge in the slightest. A skill didn’t work, but he could manipulate Space without using a skill. He tried to create a portal to send the eye to the Void Realm.

The space cracked for a moment, but it returned to normal so quickly. He attempted again, thinking this might work, but it was the same. The crack disappeared five seconds after. That was when he found out that the energy used to manipulate the space was absorbed by the magma meatball.

The magma meatball absorbed the energy like a vacuum. Every time he created the portal, his energy was sucked by the magma meatball and further strengthened.

He didn’t give up, as he still had another option, the Nine Heavenly Gate - Heavenly Steps. There was a technique called Heavenly Ethereal Shift. It would turn his body into an ethereal form and would free him of physical binds.

It looked like it was almost working, but his energy to fuel the technique was instantly absorbed, and canceled his technique. The tendril could not penetrate through his natural defense to absorb the energy that flowed inside his body, but once he tried to use his skill or a technique, it could. Those tendrils absorbed his energy at extreme rates, which canceled the technique.

”It’s useless! You can’t break free from me! You are dead!” Alderman’s cracked voice rang from behind. He spoke as if his vocal cords were messed up.

Tang Shaoyang could see Alderman’s current form through Chaos Eyes. Alderman was not in good condition; his body was tattered. It tried to heal up, but the rate of healing and rupture was about the same, making the regeneration useless.

The former Executive Administrator gambled everything on this weird skill. It was obvious since he could not even maintain his magma form, yet the bind kept getting stronger.

The temperature kept rising as the magma became brighter and brighter. The magma started to burn the scale, which was later followed by a cracking noise. The bind got stronger and started to break the scale. That was how strong the grip of these magma tendrils was.

However, there was no trace of panic on Tang Shaoyang’s face. He merely frowned at the picked situation. Even when Absolute Sense kept warning him about the impending danger the magma meatball possessed, he remained calm.

”I see... You still look confident, huh? But let’s see if you can keep that farce after this!”

Right after Alderman said that, the heat intensified before the magma ball exploded right in front of Tang Shaoyang’s face.
