Chapter 2156: Revenge

Zhong Tian Yun didn’t think that much at first, thinking the others and his people should be able to do fine without him. It wasn’t until he heard screams from behind.

He found it was natural at first as a fight broke out behind him. But then, it suddenly went quiet. There was no scream, and he could not feel movement or aura, nothing. As if the fight suddenly stopped.

Even if somehow Tang Shaoyang’s people managed to overwhelm the remaining three families, his people should be able to assist them. At least, his people should be able to protect them for some time. The eerie quiet bothered him; he sent a wave of faint energy, trying to find what happened, but there was something that blocked his internal energy.

Zhong Tian Yun then saw Bing Ruohan and Bing Lianxin’s expressions. Bing Ruohan was covering Yan Xueyi’s eyes with her hand while looking past him with disbelief.

The same with Bing Lianxin, who covered her mouth in shock. A thought crossed his mind that the remaining three great families were killed by the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

The thoughts crossed in his mind, but he quickly denied them. That was impossible because the Jaegal Family Head and the Murong Family Head were 9th-Stage True God Realms. They were at the peak of the True God Realm; it was impossible to kill them in such a short time.

The scream to the silence was in the span of a few seconds, less than ten seconds. There was no way both Jaegal Family Head and Murong Family Head would be killed in such a short time. That was what he believed, but something happened behind the scenes for Bing Ruohan and Bing Lianxin to make such an expression.

[Don’t move, Old Zhong! Don’t fight him!]

Zhong Tian Yun received a transmission message from his friend. A warning from his friend, something he would not expect to hear from the Fist God.

He turned around, trying to give a quick glance at what happened behind him. He ended up staring at the scene before his face was at a loss. His jaw slowly dropped, his eyes widened in disbelief. He understood why Bing Lianxin made that kind of expression.

They wiped out the remaining three great families so quickly, including the two 9th-Stage True God Realms. Quick might not be the right word to explain it; they were killed or caught and killed right after.

As for why his people could not assist the three great families, it was because of the floating hundred of dark-red swords. If he didn’t turn around to check what happened, he would not know thirty dark-red swords were pointing at him.

The same with the others, each of them had twenty dark-red swords pointed at them. Everyone in the reception hall had those swords pointed at them. There might be more than a thousand swords in this reception hall, restricting everyone’s movement.

Through the gap between those swords, he could see the three family heads’ dead bodies. The Murong Family Head and the Jaegal Family Head had their bodies frozen, headless. The Situ Family Head’s body was not frozen, but there were more than fifty dark-red swords on his body, and of course, that body was also headless.

”I guess I have to thank you for calling them here, Alliance Leader Zhong. I don’t have to look for them one by one anymore.”

With this, Tang Shaoyang had fulfilled his contract with Ouyang Biya. He helped her get her revenge.

”There’s still one more, and those four families are still standing!”

Ouyang Biya reminded Tang Shaoyang that he had not completed the contract. There was still the Tang Family. The four families were still standing, and she wanted them to be destroyed just like the Ouyang Family.

Zhong Tian Yun lost his reasoning for a moment. He turned around and was about to pull his sword out. His internal energy burst out from his body. It was so close for him to pull out his swords until he saw how calm Tang Shaoyang was.

Even after sensing his internal energy, Tang Shaoyang’s expression remained calm, excited even. That was when he realized that Tang Shaoyang wanted him to initiate the attack.

Tang Shaoyang mentioned that the four great families: Ximen, Jaegal, Murong, and Situ were the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s target. He didn’t know what warranted those four families to be targeted by Tag Shaoyang, but it was clear he was not their target, with how Tang Shaoyang refrained from attacking him since yesterday. Tang Shaoyang kept goading him to attack, but never initiated the attack, unlike when it came to the four great families.

Tang Shaoyang didn’t hesitate to fight them, meaning their target was not him. He quickly realized what might have transpired behind this provocation. Tang Shaoyang wanted to use him to call the major factions. He was being used by Tang Shaoyang to lure out the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s actual target.

”Are you working together with the Heaven Founder?”

Zhong Tian Yun realized that the Thousand Vows Pavilion might work together with the Heaven Founder. The Thousand Vows Pavilion was not part of the Heaven Founder, but they might work together with the Heaven Founder. Or else why would they target the Major Faction, but not him?

The Thousand Vows Pavilion, or specifically Tang Shaoyang, received the job to take down five families. The woman who killed the Ximen Family Head mentioned that there was one more. Based on their conversation, they still had one more target aside from Ximen, Situ, Jaegal, and Murong.

That was more like a contracted work where the Heaven Founder asked the Thousand Vows Pavilion to wipe out the five families. Zhong Tian Yun knew some stuff about the Thousand Vows Pavilion. This Tang Shaoyang might be the Supreme Grandmaster, and those eight people were Grandmasters.

If his guess was right about their identity, that meant they were all at the peak of the True God Realm. They were maybe on the same level as him, reaching the peak of the True God Realm already. Things were getting worse and worse than he thought.

Tang Shaoyang waved his hand, ”You don’t need to worry about it. It has nothing to do with the Heaven Founder, but I am truly grateful that you called them over for this meeting.”

”I come for the sake of Yan Xueyi. She deserves a last farewell with her uncles and Senior Brother. But it seems you have another plan by calling them here. Not that I am complaining since it’s a great help, and things are getting interesting.”

He then raised his left hand, which was holding the Azure Dragon Blade, ”So, do you want to give a go, Alliance Leader Zhong? I want to give it a try to see how strong the Sword God is. Do you truly deserve that title?”
