Chapter 2163: Cultivation

Tang Shaoyang discovered that the Nine Heavenly Gates were actually parts of the Heavenly Scripture. The Nine Heavenly Gates were created based on a few techniques that were taken from Heavenly Scripture. That explained why there were a lot of missing parts in the Nine Heavenly Gates.

The third gate was called Heavenly Steps, and there were Heavenly Steps as well in the Heavenly Scriptures. What was the difference? It was the number of techniques.

The Heavenly Steps in the third Heavenly Gate only contained three movement techniques: Heavenly Stride, Heavenly Illusionary, and Heavenly Ethereal Shift. Meanwhile, there were twelve mobility techniques in the Heavenly Scripture.

It was the same with the other gates. The Fourth Heavenly Gate - Heavenly Force also contained three techniques, and the Heavenly Force in the Heavenly Scriptures had ten techniques.

The same with the Heavenly Sword, the Heavenly Scripture had more techniques than the others. There were sixteen sword techniques in the Heavenly Scripture.

What was more impressive was that there were more Heavenly Beasts techniques than he expected, aside from Heavenly Azure Dragon, Heavenly Tortoise, Heavenly Vermilion, and Heavenly White Tiger, which were part of the Nine Heavenly Gate.

Celestial Crane, Divine Kun Peng, Heavenly Phoenix, Heavenly Pixiu, and Celestial Roc. There were nine Heavenly Beasts in total, but the Heavenly Scripture mentioned that there were supposed to be more; the technique was lost.

Of course, the Heavenly Beast technique in the Heavenly Scripture was more complete. It mentioned how to imbue will into the Heavenly Beast, making the Heavenly Beast look alive. The concept was similar to summoning, but they were not actually alive. They just moved based on his will, which he imbued in them. It was more like a puppet, but an Azure Dragon puppet was quite terrifying for sure.

The more complete technique also taught him how to imbue the Heavenly Beast into his attack. All this time, he was borrowing the Heavenly Beast’s internal energy, a stronger internal energy, for his attack.

But the complete technique taught him how to infuse the Heavenly Beast instead of just borrowing their signature internal energy. It was more powerful than just borrowing the internal energy for sure.

There were several techniques that were not included in the Nine Heavenly Gates. One of them was Heavenly Spear. As its name implied, it was a spear technique, and there were seven spear techniques in the Heavenly Scripture.

There were also Heavenly Formations, and there were so many types of formations. He was interested in one of the formations, a formation that converged energy into a specific area. Not just that, the formation also refined the energy, which made the energy pure and also generated more energy as the formation was active.

It was certainly the most useful formation in his eyes, as it created a training ground for people to cultivate. There was a trap formation, a killing formation, a defense formation, and so on.

They were all good techniques, but Tang Shaoyang didn’t really like to learn them. He obtained the knowledge thanks to the Grandmaster Codex, but he still needed to learn to use it. The theory and the practice in the field were two different things. Even if he had the knowledge, it didn’t mean he could use it. The technique was different than a skill, after all.

”That means I need to pick people to master this formation technique...” He muttered in a low voice.

That was for later, of course. Tang Shaoyang decided to focus on his own for now, and it was time to dive into the actual cultivation.

The Heavenly Scripture had an instruction. Heavenly Body Transformation, Heavenly Meridian Opening Art, Heavenly Root Refinement, and Heavenly Soul Sutra complemented each other. The instruction told him to slowly practice them together.

It said that he needed a stronger body and soul so he could contain more internal energy. Then, the Heavenly Meridian Opening art helped him to expand his dantian as he kept opening his meridians.

However, he needed internal energy to open up his meridian, which was related to Heavenly Root Refinement, which would help him expand his dantian and refine his internal energy at the same time.

However, Tang Shaoyang knew he was a special case. He had enough internal energy if he used his Chaos Energy to cultivate. He could convert them into Heavenly Energy and use them to open his meridian.

Tang Shaoyang sat cross-legged, fixing his posture as he recalled the Heavenly Opening Meridian Art in his head. Then he used the technique to circulate his internal energy through the meridian he had opened.

He did three circulation meditations before attempting to open the new meridian. He failed to open the next meridian, but he kept circulating and trying to achieve the result. To his surprise, he managed to open two meridians with his limited internal energy in his dantian.

The moment he depleted his internal energy in his dantian, Tang Shaoyang moved his Chaos Energy, converting it to the Heavenly Energy before guiding the Heavenly Energy through his meridian. To his surprise, he managed to open his next meridian in a single internal energy circulation.

Tang Shaoyang sat in the training ground and repeated the process. The air around him started to change as a golden aura swirled around Tang Shaoyang, who had his eyes closed.

Alliance Leader Zhong arrived in Xiyun Province with the Warden. He met with the Bai Family and Duanmu Family in secret after obtaining the information about the attack from Tang Shaoyang.

Old Zhou kept telling him not to trust Tang Shaoyang. However, Tang Shaoyang’s information was proven to be accurate when they received a report from the Sky Hall and the Heavenly Fortress about the attack on Taiyuan Province.

As Tang Shaoyang told them, the Heaven Founder targeted the Fist Stone Clan and the Thunder Spear Clan. Fortunately, the Sky Hall and the Heavenly Fortress arrived in time to save the two clans. They managed to repel the attack and save the two clans from the Heaven Founder.

Because of that, Alliance Leader Zhong trusted the information. He quickly contacted the Bai Family and the Duanmu Family to discuss the Heaven Founder’s attack.

The two patriarchs currently sat before him with a pensive look. They were surprised to hear the Alliance Leader was visiting their territory and wanted to meet them. They didn’t feel good about the sudden visit, considering the current situation.

The Bai Family’s patriarch, Bai Xufeng, and the Duanmu Family’s patriarch, Duanmu Liang, looked at the empty seat.

”Are we waiting for the Sikong Family’s patriarch, Alliance Leader Zhong?” Duanmu Liang asked.

He eyed several empty seats, thinking there might be more people who would participate in the meeting.

Zhong Tian Yun shook his head, ”No. I don’t invite the Sikong Family on purpose. In fact, what I want to talk about is related to them.”

The two patriarchs were surprised when they heard the reason behind the visit. They didn’t expect this meeting to be related to the Sikong Family. The Sikong Family was quite aggressive and hostile in their family expansion, destroying smaller factions as a result of their hostile expansion.

They thought the Alliance Leader came to address that issue with them, considering the current predicament against the Heaven Founder.

”I have bad news for you.”

The two patriarchs frowned, not liking what they heard. For an Alliance Leader to say that as bad news, meaning it might be worse than the thought. Added to the fact that the Alliance Leader himself came to deliver the news, which told them the gravity of the situation.

”The first bad news is that the Heaven Founder’s people are here. They come here to take your family down, along with the other factions within the Xiyun Province.”

Everything made sense now, why the Alliance Leader came in person. The Bai Family and Duanmu Family had heard what happened in the Murim Alliance’s city. They had to admit that the Heaven Founder might be more troublesome than they thought.

”That’s not the worst part yet. The worst part is that the Sikong Family betrays the Murim Alliance and joins the Heaven Founder. That explained the Sikong Family’s meteoric rise. They received the Heaven Founder’s help.”

Sure enough, Duanmu Liang and Bai Xufeng were in disbelief at first. But then they thought about it, and everything made sense now. The Sikong Family’s aggression and their rise might be related to the Heaven Founder.

The Sikong Family had gotten much stronger, so that they rivaled the Duanmu Family and the Bai Family within such a short time. As the Alliance Leader said, the Sikong Family received the outsider help, or else they would not have been able to catch the Bai Family and the Duanmu Family.

However, they needed more than just the Alliance Leader’s words to take action. Not that they didn’t believe the Alliance Leader, they wanted a justification to attack the Sikong Family, more solid evidence than just the Alliance Leader’s words.

”I can’t give you proof, but I am giving you a warning to be careful of the Sikong Family, and be prepared for a battle.”
