Chapter 2167: Soul Palace (1)

Creating lives was more complicated than it sounds, and he gave up on that. He returned to the grass field, floating above as he was thinking about what he should create. He thought of creating trees to add some aesthetic value to the land.

Tang Shaoyang hesitated, realizing that the tree was also considered a living thing. He needed to consider what kind of tree to plant in the grass field. If that was the case, that left him with a landscape. To be honest, he didn’t really know what to add.

He could add a hill, but he hesitated, afraid that he would ruin such a refreshing landscape. He was confused about what to do, afraid to make a change, and afraid of adding the intelligent living being that would help him develop the Soul Palace.

Tang Shaoyang shifted his attention toward the snowy region in the north after his hesitation to make changes in the grass field. The south and the west were volatile regions. It was better to have a deeper understanding of the Soul Palace before taking a chance on that side.

He had the same trouble on the east side. He didn’t know what to add to the sea, especially because he was afraid of adding a living being. It was better to put his project on hold for now.

He arrived in the north and quickly added mountains with five different peaks. Why mountain? Because he didn’t really have an idea what he should create. Creating this mountain was a trial, a test to see what would happen if he added a mountain.

He tried to sense any change within him, but he could not feel any change. It was different from opening meridians, Heavenly Body Transformation, and Heavenly Core Refinement, where he could feel the immediate change. This time, he felt nothing, maybe because he only added a mountain. Maybe he could feel the change if he developed this place further.

He added a tower at the lowest peak, some kind of a watch tower made of ice. Adding a dead object was the safest choice right now for him, who barely knew anything about the Soul Palace. He just wanted to find out the immediate effect of adding buildings to his Soul Palace.

After adding an ice tower, he added an outpost at the fourth lowest peak. Then he added a pavilion made of ice, five pavilions made of ice, since he built them in the snowy region. Then he added a small village at the second-highest peak, and a grand castle at the highest peak.

He didn’t have anything specific in mind about what he would use these buildings for. For now, he just added buildings to find out how the changes affected him.

Five mountains and five different structures were added to the Soul Palace. He still could not feel anything.

”Maybe I can feel the change once I leave this place...” He muttered in a low voice.

This might be the right time to leave the Soul Palace. Aside from confirming the change within him, he needed to consult about the Soul Palace with Han Taiyang.

He exited the Soul Palace and opened his eyes. He tried to check his dantian, circulating his internal energy through his opened meridians, trying to sense what might change within him. He didn’t really find any difference after creating the mountain and the structures.

Only then did Tang Shaoyang start to consult Han Taiyang, discussing what he saw in his Soul Palace with his spirit.

Han Taiyang’s first comment was that his Soul Palace was weird, or maybe more toward the unique side. The Soul Palace differs for each individual, including the size and what was created inside.

The size and the initial form of the Soul Palace determined how strong one’s soul was. There was even a case where a cultivator only had a Soul Palace the size of a room. That indicated this person had a weak soul and could be easily affected by the Soul Technique.

Han Taiyang shared his own Soul Palace, which was a castle with many side castles. He was the sovereign of his own Soul Palace with five suns. But before he created a castle, his Soul Palace was just an empty space.

That was why the Golden Sun Sovereign was surprised that his Master’s Soul Palace had a form already. He created everything from scratch, but Tang Shaoyang’s Soul Palace already took a form before developing it. That was what caught him off guard.

The surprise didn’t stop there, as he was surprised to find out how big his master’s Soul Palace was. He wished to be able to see it with his own eyes, but no one could enter someone else’s Soul Palace. There was a way to enter someone else’s Soul Palace through Soul Technique.

However, it was not easy to enter someone else’s Soul Palace even with the Soul Technique. There was a condition that needed to be fulfilled. One of them was having a stronger soul than the target. He doubted someone had a bigger and stronger Soul Palace than his master. This was the first time he encountered a case like Tang Shaoyang.

[Regarding creating a living being inside the Soul Palace... I don’t think you need to be worried about it, Master.]

”What does that mean?” The Heavenly Scripture mentioned being careful, yet Han Taiyang had the opposite opinion in this regard.

[It’s indeed true that an intelligence being in the Soul Palace is vulnerable and could become a source of inner demons, but that only applies to people who have a weak Soul Palace. It’s not advised for someone with a weak soul to create a living being because they would be easily corrupted by a certain evil soul technique. But again, a soul technique could only work if the user’s soul is stronger than the target, and I believe you have the strongest soul among many people I have met in my life.]

The Heavenly Scripture didn’t mention in detail how an inner demon formed. It warned him how inner demons could arise from an intelligent living being inside his Soul Palace. Now, Han Taiyang, how an inner demon formed, a soul technique.

”Is that the only way for an inner demon to form?”

However, Tang Shaoyang doubted that it was the only way for an inner demon to form.

[Of course not. The most common case is from the internal energy deviation, which could only happen if you practice improper technique, incomplete technique, forcing your breakthrough without a stable foundation, and emotional turmoil that affects your mind. I don’t think you need to worry about it. You have a proper technique since you have Grandmaster Codex, your foundation is so strong because you are a God Rank, and you seem to thrive under pressure.]

[Of course, there’s a unique case, such as a poison, Gu Poison, and Soul Technique. From what I know, your body is poison-resistant already, and your soul is strong, so I don’t think anyone could break your Soul Palace.]

”I see...”

[As for the creation of living beings... You don’t need to worry about the details, such as food or living environment. As long as you don’t put them in an extreme environment, they will not die. They are a living thing created with Internal Energy, so they will not die so easily. However, it’s indeed important for your Soul Palace’s development if you satisfy their needs. In fact, your situation is actually much better because you have a head start with your current Soul Palace.
