Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 421: Chapter 274: Killing Field (Part 2)

In a cold voice, ”Just mind your own business. Shu Wei has already accepted his fate; why can’t you?”

...

The theater hall.

Due to its construction, the ceiling of the hall serves as the floor for the second level. Although half of the theater had been chopped off, the hall wasn’t completely exposed to the rain.

However, the temporarily repaired circuit had failed entirely, leaving the entire hall in darkness, illuminated only by a few glow sticks thrown by the soldiers.

This level of lighting was enough for the Evolvers.

Gold Kite took off his bulletproof vest and tactical gear, stood up, and stomped on the ground fiercely.

Dust fell in a rolling cloud.

A soldier hurriedly ran over, ”Those two bastards are really tough. They’ve already injured three of our guys.”

The man scowled as a glint of malice flickered in his eyes, snuffing out the cigarette in his hand. ”The master is busy inside. I’ll entertain them myself.”

At the edge of the hall, on the Roman pillars, Bai Lu and another person, stripped to their underwear, were bound to a pillar, covered in dust like two clay figures.

The two were back-to-back, surrounded by a circle of Black Kite Special Service troops.

If either of them tried to stand, someone would kick them down with a boot or slam them harshly with a gun stock.

In the darkness, only the thuds of the hits could be heard.

”Didn’t expect these two to have such backbone.”

The man kicked the nearest long-necked one, whose groan was audible as he flew and struck the wall, then got yanked back by the ropes.

A mouthful of blood spattered out, mixing with the dust on the ground into a muddy mess.

Beside him, Bai Lu barely opened a slit in his eyes, watching his battered brother. His mind was buzzing, almost losing the ability to think.

Only a surge of malevolent fire burned fiercely within his chest.

But he no longer had the strength to curse, keeping a mouthful of blood in his mouth, struggling to rise, he staggered toward the Gold Kite man before him.

”Bang!”

”Did they forget to kick you?”

As the world spun around him, Bai Lu felt his face burning. His vision was dark, clawing the floor tiles with his fingers, he forced himself to stand. Just halfway up, someone kicked him back at the back of his knees, making him kneel before the Gold Kite man.

Clumsily grabbing onto the man’s boot, Bai Lu pulled on his leg to try to stand.

A flicker of brutality crossed the man’s eyes, but there was more appreciation in them.

He waved off the Special Service behind him from intervening, letting Bai Lu cling to his clothes to stand.

Bai Lu’s muscular yet battered physique was covered in bruises, his posture bizarre due to multiple fractures.

”To tell the truth, from today your conductor will also become one of Black Kite. What’s the point of your persistence here?”

The man spoke with a hint of regret in his voice.

Bai Lu grabbed desperately at his collar to steady himself, his hands feeling over the man’s face as if searching for something.

Then, he spat a mouthful of blood onto his face, grinning like a child, his lips stained with blood, laughing hoarsely from his throat.

The surrounding Special Service members stared in astonishment.

The Gold Kite man didn’t rage, only letting the blood trace down his eyelids.

”What a warrior, truly a pity.”

Holding out his hand, a Special Service member handed him a large cold blue gun.

It wasn’t just a cold weapon; it was more like the electromagnetic sniper gun that Yu Yue currently used. The gun’s length exceeded 2.6 meters, with openings at the muzzle and symmetrical structures at the stock.

The entire weapon exuded a minimalistic design, reflecting the technological aesthetic of electromagnetic weaponry.

As he raised his arm, he suddenly turned his head towards the door.

”A bunch of waste.”

”I think so too.”

The deep voice echoed like an ancient bell, as the damaged door crashed inward.

A towering figure stood at the door, nearly blocking all the light from outside. Raindrops outlined muscles like metal.

Seeing Bai Lu and the long-necked one tied to the pillar, Liang Kuan’s gaze darkened further.

”Thank you for enduring.”

Bai Lu seemed to hear that, grinning widely as he fell backwards.

”Boom.”

The dust scattered.

Without any precursor, two formidable figures charged at each other simultaneously!

”Boom——”

The spear point clashed with the shield, producing explosive sounds.

Centered around the two, all debris was swept away by the terrifying vibrations.

The shield in Liang Kuan’s hand was dented deeper, and the long gun in the Gold Kite man’s hand bent into a frightful arc.

Seeing each other withstand the first attack, both showed slight surprise.

”Tier Two!”

But the terrifying battle spirits only grew more fervent.

The Gold Kite man took a step back, his shout filled with excitement, ”Again!”

The spear slashed through the air, tearing the atmosphere, stabbing directly at the shield’s center!

Liang Kuan roared low, not dodging but meeting the attack, the shield facing forward. ”Clang—!” The clash of metal echoed loudly, sparks flying.

The spear point scraped against the shield, emitting dazzling sparks. Muscles coiled around their arms like pythons, veins bulging, the sound of surging blood staunchly audible.

Behind the shield, Liang Kuan grunted, blood bursting out in scarlet lines.

Noticing this, the Gold Kite man’s brow furrowed, but his attacks grew more vicious.

Retreating half a step, he planted the spear tip on the ground, launching himself into the air, and brought the spear down in a slash!

Liang Kuan roared, his muscles bracing like iron blocks stacked, shoulder and back rising like a crouching tiger. Instead of retreating, he advanced, with his left arm’s elbow slamming against the shield.

Shield spinning, it bulldozed like an avalanche, forcefully deflecting the spear swing.

A bullet silently zipped past Liang Kuan’s ear, darting toward the Gold Kite man’s brow, not even ruffling a breeze.

The latter flinched, leaping back, spear tip flipping upward.

A burst of sparks erupted in the air.

But without pausing for breath, a deep blue light shot at a crafty angle towards his supporting leg at a faster speed.

Liang Kuan stood like a metal statue, suddenly freeing his right hand, swiping downward.

A Special Service member, seemingly delivering himself, walked into Liang Kuan’s grasp, eyes wide in shock.

With a single hand clenched, the Special Service member’s eyes bulged and bled, silence enveloping him instantly.

Casually discarding him, he swung his left arm’s elbow to the side, and a soldier armed with a military knife collided with him, bending at the waist and draping across Old Liang like a rag.

The transition from extreme stillness to extreme action lacked any buffer, the close combatants rushing in were instantly decimated.

The shifts in speed invited both awe and a nauseating sensation from instinctive revulsion.

Like a vertigo from witnessing scenes beyond the body’s limits.

”Ha!”

A flame abruptly flared into the air, illuminating the entire hall instantaneously.

Two distorted figures writhe in agony within the flames.

Lin Jin stood behind Liang Kuan, flickering embers adorning his tousled hair, his gaze mirrored the disastrous figures of Bai Lu and his partner, the red fire blazing fiercely.

”Together!”

Yu Jing’s puppet stood beside Liang Kuan.

The latter nodded solemnly, slamming his shield into the ground, blasting shockwaves and flinging debris outward.

Colliding with bullets in mid-air, they emitted a dense rattling sound akin to rain pelting banana leaves.

”Again!”

The Gold Kite man, now familiar with Qu Hang and Yu Yue’s shooting rhythm, unleashed a booming roar, disrupting Yu Yue’s sonic harassment, charging anew.

The spearing resumed, like a torrential storm, each thrust carrying an earth-shattering force.

Liang Kuan’s muscles bulged, the shield seemed alive, each deflection appeared as waves crashing ashore, reverberating against the spear’s buzzing tips.

After a brief interval, a back-attacking mechanical puppet was flung out by a spear swipe.

Only the two remained in the scene, much like ancient battlefield warriors engaging in fomented combat, long lost to the reason of earth and sky.

Comparable to savage beasts, transforming their entire being into weapons, launching assaults at each other.

Their terrifying power turned the splintered stones into small-caliber projectiles, none, not even Mountain Goat and other Tier One Evolvers dared to intervene.

Every stomp, every roar could reverberate through the entire building.

The booming noise echoed within enclosed spaces, inducing heart-pounding fear.

”Quickly, get Bai Lu and the other out, the damn building’s gonna collapse!”

Mountain Goat anxiously yelled.
