Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 415: Chapter 271: War Begins (Part 2)

Zhong You’s gaze was oozing with murderous intent, gripping the new material javelin in his hand with a cracking sound.

Bao Qingqing was so shocked by the scene that she was at a loss for words.

Only one thought remained in her mind.

’Has Shu Wei been swapped?’

”Heh...”

A faint laughter broke her wild thoughts.

Bao Qingqing frowned and followed the increasingly loud source of the sound.

She just saw Su Huan lying on the sofa, opening his mouth and laughing heartily, his voice like crashing stones, clear and bright, but somehow, she found it extremely harsh, like a devil’s voice.

Amid Mr. Shu’s icy gaze, the rapier suddenly aimed for Su Huan’s neck without the slightest warning.

Just as it was about to succeed, a figure flashed past.

The butler’s heart jumped, forcibly pulling back ninety percent of his strength.

Yet still leaving a bright red spot on Shu Wei’s chest.

The latter showed no sign of wavering, his light gray eyes becoming even brighter.

”Hahaha...”

”Shu Wei, welcome to the Armed Train!”

”The honor is mine.”

The entire inner hall suddenly brightened up.

...

Armed Train, Auxiliary No. 1 Readiness Room.

The heavy titanium steel door was pushed open, dense smoke wafted through the door crack, and a broad figure ducked slightly to come inside.

Mountain Goat, who was touching up the surveillance on the carriage screen, suddenly asked, ”Has the conductor’s order been issued?”

Liang Kuan shook his head, his gaze sweeping across the room.

Miao Qi was sitting in a corner cleaning her sniper rifle, Jiang Rong was applying gun oil on a disassembled heavy machine gun, Lao San was biting a cigarette, grabbing a handful of green-shelled ammo from the ammo box and loading it into the loader, while Boss was busying himself using a dagger to cut open a landmine, picking out something like buttery paste...

Amid the sound of a bolt being pulled and the crisp clashes of bullets, a snoring sound could be heard faintly.

Following the snore, they saw He Jie laying sprawled out on the floor, hugging an anti-aircraft machine gun, a bullet chain covering his eyes, his nostrils flaring, snoring thunderously.

When Liang Kuan’s gaze fell upon him, the snoring ceased abruptly, the bullet chain slid off, and a pair of bloodshot tiger eyes stared directly at him.

Liang Kuan asked in a muffled voice, ”How was the rest?”

”Not bad.”

”What’s our next move?”

He Jie, planting one foot on the ground, lifted the anti-aircraft machine gun with one hand, and sprang up with the swiftness as if pulled out from dry land, his dark face exuding killing intent.

”Kill!”

Striding out.

As he passed Pang Tu, the latter tossed him a bulletproof vest, which He Jie grabbed and slipped on directly.

Passing by Lao San, he grabbed an ammo box that had just been loaded, hooking it to his waist.

Mountain Goat: ”The theatre’s signal suppression has been reinforced, the train’s detection range has been further compressed.”

Licking Rabbit: ”All departments are ready.”

”...”

Upon compiling the information, He Jie stepped out of the Auxiliary No. 1 Carriage into the Armed Hall.

A seven-hundred-person team stood quietly in the Armed Hall, stretching beyond sight.

Just then the metal door opposite also opened, Yu Jing was the first to step out, accompanied by a two-meter tall Mechanical Puppet, then came Xiaoba in a wheelchair, and Lin Jin, who had just crawled out from the training ground, drenched in sweat.

The last to come out was Yu Yue, fully armed, with a 1.8 meter electromagnetic sniper rifle slanting in her hands, her waist swaying, and the sound of her footsteps crisp like the clarion call of an attack.

He Jie was taken aback, ”You’re coming too?”

Yu Yue’s eyelids drooped slightly, her almond eyes stretching to be slender, ”I am a major in the Armed Corps.”

He Jie laughed boisterously, ”Then let’s go all out, everyone ready!”

Everyone’s faces grew stern, ears pricked up to listen.

He Jie turned to look at everyone, flames blazing in his eyes, ”According to the conductor’s orders, once he disembarks, I am to command the Armed Train to break through the Black Kite blockade line, but I’ve never done anything so cowardly!”

”With me, the combat standard is threefold: annihilate! Annihilate! Still damn well annihilate!”

The furious roar reverberated through the enclosed Armed Hall, echoing thunderously.

The overlapping voices made it hard for those at the back to hear what was said, but the conditioned reflex instilled by He Jie’s training had them responding loudly, nonetheless.

The roar like thunder, their fighting spirits soaring.

Especially the two hundred reservists taken in recently, each one was burning with enthusiasm.

Upon seeing this, He Jie grinned and then went cold instantly.

”Here are my orders, if you forget or mess up later, don’t blame me if the guns don’t recognize friends!”

”Pang Tu leads two hundred reservists to garrison around the train, Lao San leads the combat squad to assist in defense.”

”The remaining Armed Corps is divided into five teams below officer level, each team with a hundred members.”

”First group, Licking Rabbit as commander, Xiaoba as deputy, construct field fortifications a hundred meters due north of the Armed Train.”

”Second group, Yu Yue as commander, Yu Jing as deputy, advance along the road from the left side towards the theatre.”

”Third group, Qu Hang as commander, Lin Jin as deputy, move towards the theatre from the right side.”

”Fourth group, Tong Zizhan, Gao Yuan, oversee surveillance of the waters, prevent infiltration and sneak attacks from superhumans!”

”Fifth group, Liang Kuan, Mountain Goat form the strike force, directly storm the theatre!”

”Lu Xiao, Jiang Rong, and the rest, advance with me from due north!”

”All other service crew members remain on guard, adhere entirely to wartime regulations and standards.”

”Understood?!”

”Yes!”

Everyone responded collectively.

”Move out!”

The dense footsteps echoed on the ironwood, clanging and resounding.

The train emitted a warning whistle, its head slowly receding into the water, the torrential rain intensifying further; steel fortifications rose from the ground, the Armed Corps silently blending into the rainy night like currents flowing into the ocean.

The voice of Glasses suddenly came over the broadcast, ”Detected massive energy fluctuations, approaching the train from the theatre direction, awaiting Colonel He Jie’s orders!”

With a thunderous roar, a bolt of lightning streaked from the sky, striking the theatre.

In an instant, the world turned white.

He Jie squinted, sneering, ”Tell Ban Yunzhang, the chance to earn merit is here, flip the theatre top for me!”

Utilizing the power charged ahead by the conductor, both electromagnetic railguns charged simultaneously, and six cannons loaded their shells.

Three seconds later.

The blast waves radiated like mad from the Armed Train, rainwater flew back, and the air turned crystal clear and bright.

The train carriages loaded with cannons sank simultaneously but were pulled up by the other carriages, the sectional structure of the carriages effectively neutralizing all recoil from the artillery.

”Boom——”

The blue light pierced through the sky, and half of the once towering theatre vanished instantly.

More than two seconds later, the rainwater above the train fell again.

The buildings beneath the theatre also came under bombardment, causing a series of tremors.

He Jie laughed heartily, holding his anti-aircraft machine gun as he led the charge.

Jumping out of the trenches built by Xiaoba, and began sweeping towards the shadows not far away.

The other side hadn’t recovered from the artillery barrage before being hit by He Jie’s 12.7mm bullet rain, two people were instantly torn to pieces.

Even with Yu Jing and others’ synthesized evolutionary materials, without a certain thickness, they crumble instantly against a 12.7 caliber’s power of truth.

Under He Jie’s formidable ”ballistic correction” ability, using two heavy machine guns, he forcefully pinned down the special unit of Black Kite from the front.

The following Armed Corps quickly opened fire, expanding the advantage.

Except for a few precision shooters, most were still equipped with projectile weapons, so the smell of gunpowder soon permeated the rain.

...

Cao Yong had just picked off the mutated leech from his foot, not yet dealing with the series of bloody pits, before he saw the theatre’s roof disappear.

His hand shook, almost stabbing through his subordinate’s leg.

”Chief, I didn’t offend you, did I?”

”Shut up, it’s already started!”

Cao Yong quickly cleaned off the leech from the other’s leg as well, pulled down the trouser leg, and started running with that person on his shoulder.

Feeling quite heavy-hearted, initially thinking it was just going to be a formality.

Did not expect it truly turned into a fricking battle.

The folks on the Armed Train, do they all have gunpowder for brains?
