Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 418: Chapter 273: Cunning

Licking Rabbit put down the walkie-talkie, just about to change position, when a cold, dazzling white light flashed ahead.

The white-haired kid wielding a long knife seemed to have found Xiaoba’s position, charging madly across the battlefield.

Licking Rabbit was so frightened that his heart skipped a beat.

He quickly picked up the walkie-talkie and shouted, ”Team Eight, immediately enter the first trench. Team Two, cease withdrawal. Team Nine, enter the second trench. Team Ten, cover Xiaoba’s retreat.”

A calm, youthful voice came through the walkie-talkie, ”It’s too late.”

Licking Rabbit crawled out of the trench, ignoring the flying bullets on the battlefield, and ran frantically towards Xiaoba’s position.

A dense rain of bullets, mixed with one or two cold blue streaks, covered the battlefield, but that white-haired Silver Kite moved like a rabbit, darting and dodging behind various obstacles. Most bullets missed, and the occasional one that hit his exoskeleton armor didn’t even scratch the paint!

It seemed as if the soldiers were firing blanks.

”Master Eight, retreat, quickly retreat!”

A captain crawled out of the trench, directly shielding Xiaoba in front of him, providing suppressive fire against Silver Kite.

The firepower of ten soldiers was sufficient to suppress a squad, but it had no effect on this Silver Kite. Amid the sudden bursts of light, the sharp blade kept approaching.

A pair of icy eyes locked onto Xiaoba, sitting in a wheelchair.

”Master Eight, run quickly!”

A soldier hurriedly shouted.

”You two, get Master Eight out of here!”

Seeing the opponent getting closer, and Xiaoba showing no intention of moving, the captain got anxious.

The two at the back of the team put down their rifles and turned to lift Xiaoba’s wheelchair.

But with a grunt, they found they couldn’t move it.

”You won’t be able to stop him.”

Sitting in the wheelchair, Xiaoba’s face was cold, but his voice was especially sincere.

The surroundings were filled with metal structures he had built. He had plenty of opportunities to retreat, but the soldiers inside these iron fortresses didn’t.

He speculated that Silver Kite’s ability was something like brittleness.

Most soldiers’ evolutionary abilities leaned toward the ”Defender” path. Faced with a Tier One close combat expert, they would be crushed, and the iron fortresses wouldn’t provide effective protection.

If he rushed in, the frontal battlefield of the armored train would collapse immediately.

With He Jie injured and out, he was the only pillar on the frontline.

Everyone could retreat, except him.

The two used all their strength, but still couldn’t move the wheelchair. Looking down, they saw that Xiaoba had welded the wheelchair to the ground.

The captain turned around, his eyes red with anger when he saw Xiaoba still hadn’t been moved.

”You two incompetents!”

”Don’t blame them, it’s me who doesn’t want to leave.”

Xiaoba mobilized the steel, moving himself to the front of the position. Layers of metal walls gathered in front of him, forming a massive iron wall that shielded everyone behind it.

Silver Kite looked at the boy in the wheelchair in front of him with a hint of surprise but still leaped forward.

The long knife in his hand slashed down without hesitation.

The soldiers’ eyes opened wide with fury, but Xiaoba left them only a line of shooting holes.

They could only watch helplessly, unable to do anything.

The young shoulders were somewhat thin, unable to fill the black shirt, yet they lifted a massive steel arm, swinging it fiercely toward Silver Kite in mid-air.

”Trying to topple a giant tree!”

The Silver Kite man snorted coldly, the long knife slicing down.

”Clang!”

The metallic clanging drowned out the nearby gunshots, making everyone’s ears itch.

”Xiaoba!”

Licking Rabbit, who had just run over, happened to see the moment the long knife slashed down, and his heart trembled.

In a flash before everyone’s eyes, the long knife cleaved the wheelchair in two.

”Huh?!”

Silver Kite let out a muffled, incredulous grunt.

Looking up at the sky, the young boy leapt into the air, his arms outstretched like wings maintaining balance, his black hair, snug against his ears, lifted up as he descended, seemingly weightless.

With a soft thud, his feet landed on Silver Kite’s shoulders.

Indeed, as if he had no weight.

He couldn’t even feel someone standing on him.

What was even more intense than that feeling was the sharp pain inside his body.

The exoskeleton that originally protected him now became the sharpest blade piercing him.

If it weren’t for the sudden betrayal being so fierce, even if Xiaoba trained hard, it would’ve been impossible for him to jump onto him in the moment the blade slashed down.

Silver Kite’s mouth spilled a trace of blood, his pupils trembling, ”You...”

”Fooled you.”

Xiaoba flashed a sly grin unique to adolescents, hopping onto the side into the open space, demonstratively hopping around.

Although his legs hadn’t healed, he hadn’t skipped physical training. Training the other soldiers did, he did too, even more, and more precisely!

Just to use the exoskeleton to regain control over his body.

Although the strength was far from a Tier One ”Defender,” his agility was much better than the average soldier.

Silver Kite wanted to say something, but opened his mouth only to spit out a mouthful of blood, unable to speak, he could only point to the exoskeleton on his body.

”Though it’s mixed with evolutionary materials, there’s still metal in there.”

Xiaoba scratched his temple.

He couldn’t manipulate the exoskeletons on Black Kite and the others, but just like operating on the new composite materials with Yu Jing, it took more energy and also had distance limitations.

If used prematurely from dozens of meters away, not only would it not result in an effective kill, but it would also alert the opponent. Therefore, Xiaoba waited until now to use this trick.

With his internal organs pierced, Silver Kite could no longer hold on and collapsed to the ground.

Xiaoba clenched his fist in excitement.

So many years of training, waiting for this day!
