Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 146: Chapter 133: Capture

It’s not surprising that He Jie is anxious.

Today, with his appearance, everyone knows he’s betrayed. As long as one person returns alive, his family could be in danger.

Now his mind is full of getting his family out quickly.

”Ah, right.”

Su Huan looked down kindly at Mountain Goat, ”Do you want to join us? If you don’t want to, it’s okay. We can collaborate another time.”

Mountain Goat, after being shocked a few times, had a mind extraordinarily quick.

He reacted almost instantly.

’Probably in my next life.’

He said urgently, ”I’m useful, I’ll cooperate!”

Su Huan looked up at He Jie.

The latter snorted coldly, ”No need to worry about a feigned surrender. This guy, though he doesn’t have a wife, has quite a lot of family—his parents, his grandmother, his grandfather are all in the company, completely depending on him. He’s just a grunt with no connections. If he dies, his family would be on the streets the next day.”

Having his weakness exposed, Mountain Goat was immediately terrified, cursing with reddened eyes, ”You old dog—”

”Bang!”

He Jie didn’t indulge him, kicking him hard in the stomach, stifling his words.

He sneered, ”Little lamb, even your captain wouldn’t talk to your dog father like that. If you dare to run, we will go and wipe out your entire family. We might not be able to storm the company headquarters, but the family area is doable.”

Mountain Goat is a gatherer, not as physically strong as He Jie, especially since He Jie has undergone multiple physical enhancements.

That kick almost stomped his internal organs out, leaving him on the ground, vomiting sour water.

He Jie looked coldly at his pathetic appearance.

Silently sighing inside, he thought, though not knowing what Su Huan wanted him to do, having no weaknesses held against him meant his death when he was no longer useful.

The two had no deep-seated hatred, coming from the same place. If one could survive, it would be something.

Later, they’d still have a companion on the vehicle.

Su Huan patted his back with a smile, ”Don’t worry, today we’ll go to the Steel Council and get your parents and family out.”

Mountain Goat: ”... Thank you, ugh.”

...

The team gained a new member, making the conductor happy, but Li Tao refusing to come down from the sky kept Su Huan annoyed.

Even though they killed most of the twenty soldiers below, the helicopter in the sky showed no intention of providing support.

From beginning to end, it only fired a few dozen rockets before the battle.

Su Huan deliberately exposed himself several times, but regardless of whether he advanced or retreated, the armed helicopter maintained a relative distance of over ten kilometers, far beyond the range of the electromagnetic sniper rifle.

Let alone ten kilometers, with the helicopter’s armor thickness, Su Huan wasn’t confident even at five kilometers to penetrate it.

With that, Su Huan didn’t plan to tangle with it any longer.

This battle wasn’t long but also wasn’t short, already consuming half a day, arriving at eleven in the morning.

The Steel Council must have gotten the news too; it was urgent to get things done while they couldn’t respond.

The group moved swiftly through the district.

Carrying weapons on the cluttered streets, they quickly covered six or seven meters per second.

The sound they made was extremely faint.

That elite SPA was the most luxurious club here, other buildings looked rather dilapidated, with acid rain washing away human traces and the unique atmosphere of order.

But there were still many survivors.

Aside from a man and two women Mountain Goat killed in the club, they ran into several others.

But most were ordinary people, and Su Huan had no interest in contact.

Thanks to the attention grabbing music from the armored train, the street-dwelling corpse swarm was diverted, saving them a lot of effort.

”Detour through the neighborhood, the street ahead is dangerous,” Mountain Goat silently in the middle of the group suddenly said.

The others looked at him, then their gaze fell on Su Huan, awaiting his decision.

Trailing at the end, Yu Yue’s mouth moved slightly, Su Huan grinned, ”Then through the neighborhood.”

Following his lead, the group quickly entered the housing complex.

This old residential compound had six buildings, each five stories, like a school, with shared corridors on each floor, and protective railings welded in the middle, the green paint eroded by acid rain, now looking rusty.

A few households had left a lot of potted plants in the corridors, now overgrown wildly.

The leaves of vines wound their way downstairs.

Su Huan headed straight towards Building 2, not through the unit door, but directly toward the wall.

The bionic octopus suckers on his feet exerted force, driving him steadily up the wall at a 90-degree angle to the ground.

He Jie’s ears twitched slightly, pausing for just a moment, picked up the light machine gun and darted toward the stairway.

Zhang Kai followed, Lao San and his brothers quickly set up firing points at strategic positions in the complex.

From a vantage among several buildings, Yu Yue observed for a moment, then vanished behind an open window with a rhythmic pulse of long legs wrapped in a skintight suit.

Mountain Goat’s eyes flickered, glanced at the calm-eyed Jiang Rong, then at Lao San and others who had set up a crossfire network not far away, dismissing some inappropriate thoughts.

He had some confidence in his own speed and agility.

But facing a crossfire from a team of Evolvers, he had no intention of trying.

After all, he wasn’t even in a profession right now.

No point in being reckless.

Though split, Su Huan could already hear reports coming through his earpiece.

Lao San: ”That guy glanced at me a few times, looks like he’s got bad intentions, should we take him out?”

Jiang Rong: ”I’m watching him from the side, he seems to have given up the thought.”

”Keep an eye on him, shoot if he tries to run.”

Su Huan’s voice was cold and clear.

He Jie: ”Are you sure Qu Hang is here?”

Yu Yue: ”Yes, he’s moving quickly, he probably discovered us, could he manipulate sound like me?”

”It’s the wind, the wind told him we’re here.”

Su Huan’s eyes showed a hint of brilliance; his boss, like Yu Yue, went down the wrong path.

They should have followed pure capability evolution like Xiaoba.

But inadvertently took the path combining firearms.

Without electromagnetic sniper rifles, Qu Hang used an ordinary high-precision sniper rifle, not even anti-material.

The reason he could penetrate the armored train’s glass three kilometers away was borrowing the power of the wind.

To him, the wind wasn’t an obstacle but rather a bullet’s aid.

He Jie was about to speak when he heard Su Huan go silent.

Yu Yue: ”He’s on the fourth floor, moving down.”

Su Huan looked up, reached out to shield the falling acid rain, just in time to see a leaf above sway.
