Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 114: Chapter 107: Joint Convoy of Workers, Farmers, and Medical Staff

”There’s danger ahead!”

Su Huan’s step paused momentarily, his pupils slightly expanding.

Just in that instant, two voices reached his ears, one was Yu Yue’s, and the other was a young male voice.

Because they were too synchronized, he couldn’t immediately distinguish the source.

Looking around, he saw He Jie and the others all staring at the surveillance above the corner.

”There are survivors of unknown allegiance.”

He Jie said in a low voice, then slightly shook his head, indicating they shouldn’t be trusted.

”Having survivors isn’t a bad thing, when you’re out you should make more friends. You’re in this situation because you carry too much killing intent.”

After teasing He Jie, Su Huan bit the soft flesh inside his mouth, revealing an expression that carried a touch of caution but also determination, as he walked over towards the surveillance.

”Who are you, employees of the logistics center?”

He Jie ground his teeth in anger on the spot but then showed a thoughtful expression when he heard Su Huan’s question.

He didn’t become the captain of the B-Class Squad just because of his strength; if Su Huan only asked half the question, the first reaction would be caution.

But Su Huan gave them a binary choice question, so unless the other person was extremely cautious, they would respond based on this context.

”No, we are... outside survivors.”

Just as expected.

Next, He Jie watched with wide eyes as Su Huan, through a conversation, gained the trust of the survivors behind the surveillance.

But he couldn’t see any act in Su Huan’s behavior; all his actions were genuine, including the tension facing unknown survivors and the subtle emotions of slight surprise.

Because he was close, he could feel it very clearly.

’Perhaps... he’s not lying.’

He Jie thought involuntarily.

A minute later, Su Huan walked back, informing everyone of the information he obtained.

”There are a lot of zombies in the logistics center?” Lao San was stunned, ”What nonsense are these people talking about, who would gather at the logistics center for no reason.”

Su Huan ignored him, and Yu Yue’s voice came to his ears.

”It’s true, the logistics center is filled with many zombies, but they’re so dense it’s hard to make out the numbers.”

Yu Jing suddenly asked, ”Then where are the exoskeletons we need?”

”According to them, the exoskeletons are in the equipment maintenance port, forming a triangular layout with the storage area and the sorting area, while they are at the digital command center on the second floor of the rear building.”

Faint gunfire was already sounding outside, but the building’s interior had excellent soundproofing, making it sound like a gentle rain falling, indistinguishable.

Su Huan contemplated for a moment, then asked Yu Yue to find the building of the digital center from outside.

Then, following the directions from the surveillance, began advancing towards the digital center from the inside.

The entire logistics center wasn’t just a few large blocks of warehouses; it was one main building with four auxiliary ones, five large buildings in total, surrounded by many subsidiary structures, though not very complicated, it gave Su Huan and the others space to maneuver.

They were on the first floor of the main building, but the doors leading inside were closed, with staircases on both sides.

Following the instructions, they went up the staircases on both sides and entered from the small door on the side.

The moment they opened the door, the chaotic roar of corpses flooded their ears, the varying pitch of roars echoed repeatedly in the empty space, like coarse sand scraping against the ears, extremely uncomfortable.

They held their breaths and looked down cautiously.

The logistics center was huge, with honeycomb racks and circular double-layer sorting lines crisscrossing, slicing the entire space into layers rich in sci-fi, and the floor sunk two meters, presumably designed to reduce noise.

Various height-adjustable hydraulic platforms radiated outwards, intersecting three-dimensionally with the heavy truck pathways.

Many of the goods below had been opened, and there were traces of living waste; some robots stood still in the middle of the racks, as if suddenly frozen, still in working condition, and all drones had returned to their positions.

Wandering between the goods were zombies and white Corpse Pupae.

A Butcher was leading a group of regular zombies with a rack beam, playing an attack game with a Goblin, most of the chaotic noise came from them.

They saw the Butcher draw a steel pipe as thick as an arm forward, directly bursting a meat lump thrown by the Goblin, sticky juice splattering all over its face.

The regular zombies around went crazy, rushing at the Butcher.

The first two were immediately knocked over by the Butcher, stomped into pulp by its big foot, but more and more piled up on the Butcher, creating a six or seven-meter high meat mountain.

But not all zombies were interested in the game.

For example, the Tier One Jumper in front of them liked jumping around different platforms as if playing an extreme game, and mysteriously approached Su Huan and the others.

Su Huan pressed down He Jie’s gun barrel, ”Let him come over.”

Just as the Jumper landed, its black and red pupils locked onto Su Huan and the others, a cold blue arc instantly hit its footsteps, and its squat reverse-joint knee seemed locked there, unable to jump.

A charred smell started emanating from it.

He Jie looked at Su Huan’s eyes flickering with electrical sparks, and his muscles instantly tensed up.

Clearly reminded him of some unpleasant memories.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Su Huan walked up, straightening the other’s head, a hand glowing red, and like piercing tofu, directly inserted into the Jumper’s brain.
