Alchemy Master

Chapter 237, Alchemy Sparks Discussion

Translator: Silavin

As everyone knew, the more Spirit Medicine used, the more troublesome it would be to refine, and the more time it would take. Since Qin Yichen had taken three to four times the amount of medicinal herbs, would it not take three to four times longer to refine?

This was undoubtedly foolish behaviour.

At the very least, Qin Yichen had already lost in terms of speed. If his speed score was too low, it would definitely affect his overall score.

Even the Alchemy Peak Master and several Tower Masters could not understand Qin Yichen’s intentions with his behaviour.

Especially the Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower Master. He did not believe Qin Yichen was foolish by any stretch of the imagination.

Still, no one could guess Qin Yichen’s true intentions right now.

“A New Apprentice is just a New Apprentice…” Western Region’s Alchemy Tower Master, Qiu Yushu, suddenly remarked, causing Zuo Xuezhen, who had been thinking, to raise an eyebrow.

“Indeed, a New Apprentice… some people are not even as good as New Apprentices.” Zuo Xuezhen spoke indifferently, making Qiu Yushu’s face twitch. He finally snorted coldly, flicked his sleeve, and said no more.

In the end, Qin Yichen’s prepared medicinal herbs were five times more than those around him.

“This guy…” Zhao Ritian wanted to say something, but thinking of Qin Yichen’s incredible refining speed, he could only deeply sigh. [Well, he couldn’t be judged by common sense; he is a true monster!]

Wang Daoyun, however, still kindly reminded Qin Yichen a few times.

“Okay. I’m ready.” Qin Yichen said to the judge beside him.

After everyone was prepared, the Alchemy Peak Master swept his gaze across the field and announced, “Begin!”

With his words, everyone began moving.

*Huff…* Qin Yichen took a deep breath, then his spirit got lifted, and his entire demeanour changed.

He took out his small Pill Furnace.

Originally, he was already the focus of attention, having taken first place in the first segment. So, when he took out this small Pill Furnace, everyone’s expressions became somewhat strange.

The small Pill Furnace’s appearance was extremely ordinary. In fact, calling it ordinary was actually being polite; it could be called dilapidated.

To be honest, even Zhao Ritian did not understand why Qin Yichen insisted on keeping that broken Pill Furnace.

The Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower Master also had not expected Qin Yichen to bring out such a Pill Furnace.

“Hahaha, I didn’t expect the Northern Region had become so impoverished…” Western Region’s Alchemy Tower Master Qiu Yushu finally found an excuse to mock him.

Zuo Xuezhen really had no way to refute.

He knew Qin Yichen’s background. He was from a small kingdom that remained quite obscure to the world. He had also never seemed to have paid any attention to Qin Yichen’s circumstances.

He now regretted not giving Qin Yichen a better Pill Furnace. [Seemed like this segment of the competition would end miserably for my Northern Region. But we should be able to turn things around in the third segment.]

He could only pin his hopes on the third round.

“Xuezhen, later let that young fellow choose a better Pill Furnace from my collection.” Alchemy Peak Master Qu Huazheng spoke up.

Even he could not bear to watch anymore.

What kind of inhuman treatment had this young fellow received in the Northern Region that he did not even have a decent Pill Furnace?

His words clearly carried dissatisfaction and rebuke.

“Yes…” Zuo Xuezhen smiled bitterly in response.

What else could he say? This was indeed his oversight.

However, Qin Yichen paid no attention to any of this. After taking out his Pill Furnace, he quickly ignited the Alchemy Fire, then began throwing the medicinal herbs into the Pill Furnace one by one.

In fact, even if given a Heaven Grade Pill Furnace, he would not exchange the one he currently had!

This was Qin Yichen’s first time demonstrating his Alchemy Technique before so many people. Without doubt, just his method of adding herbs made those who had been fixated on the Pill Furnace immediately turn their attention back.

Especially the Alchemy Peak Master and several Tower Masters – they were all experienced Masters. Qin Yichen’s flowing, casual movements were enough to stun them.

They were considered widely experienced, and moreover, stood at the peak of the World of Alchemy in the Thousand Mist Empire. Even Qu Huazheng would not dare pat his chest and say he could be as casual as Qin Yichen.

Though Western Region’s Alchemy Tower Master Qiu Yushu did not speak, his tense expression showed his heart was not calm at this moment.

If Qin Yichen was just messing around, that would be fine, but if he was not…

A drop of sweat fell from the corner of his eye.

He did not understand how the Northern Region had cultivated such a monstrous child, especially since the Northern Region had no one capable of nurturing such a genius.

He could not figure it out no matter how much he thought about it.

Yet, Qin Yichen’s continuing actions made everyone even more confused. His movements of adding medicinal materials never stopped.

At this time, Qin Yichen’s posture continued on…

One hand continuously threw medicinal herbs into the small Pill Furnace, while the other hand occasionally tapped on the small Pill Furnace, creating a somewhat strange scene.

It was extremely strange.

What puzzled people more was, he seemed to not need to refine those medicinal herbs?

What confused them even more was that Qin Yichen had already put in several kilograms of medicinal herbs, which was strange. After all, how could that small Pill Furnace contain it all?!

Qin Yichen had taken quite a lot of medicinal herbs, but in the blink of an eye, he had already put in almost half, and his movements still had not stopped.

In contrast to his situation, the people around him all followed the same process: put in some materials, refine them, add more, refine again… almost everyone followed this process.

Qin Yichen’s method was… peculiar.

In everyone’s eyes, this was not just different – it was as if Qin Yichen was making a mockery of Alchemy.

Even the Western Region’s Alchemy Tower Master let out a long sigh.

The Alchemy Peak Master also shook his head.

They had thought it was some extraordinary Alchemy Technique.

The Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower Master was also full of doubt.

He had clearly heard Deacon Min say that Qin Yichen had won against Huyuan Songqing in an Alchemy Duel. So, how could he be incompetent?

Of course, as Qin Yichen continued his actions, their emotions gradually changed once again…

The reason was simple – the amount of medicinal herbs Qin Yichen had put in was just too much!

It had exceeded the small Pill Furnace’s capacity by five or six times, but that small Pill Furnace seemed like a bottomless pit, still showing no signs of being full despite its small exterior.

How could they know that the inside of the small Pill Furnace was not as simple as it appeared to be on the outside?

The space inside was actually quite massive.

Of course, those medicinal herbs were almost all refined by Qin Yichen as soon as they entered the Pill Furnace. As the essence continued to condense, the colour of the essence also gradually changed.

“Should be about right.” The Medicinal Liquid was almost ready, and Qin Yichen began adding herbs with different properties.

At this point, he was completely focused on Alchemy, not caring or wanting to care about his surroundings.

Refining a Fourth Grade Compound Pill was like child’s play to him.

Actually Qin Yichen felt as if he was bullying them by competing. After all, they were simply not on the same level.
