Alchemy Master

Chapter 224, Thousand Mist Empire

The Alchemy World Summit was without a doubt the grandest event of the World of Alchemy. It was held once every three years. Even if Zhao Lin and the others had not mentioned it, Qin Yichen was already clear about everything concerning the summit.

Although he had never participated in the summit himself, he had led others to participate before.

The Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower held an unshakeable position in the Northern Region, but in the Thousand Mist Empire, it was merely in the middle to lower ranks.

Of course, the summit was being held in Thousand Mist Capital.

The Thousand Mist Empire was vast and resource-rich, comprising of five great regions: East Region, West Region, Northern Region, South Region, and the Central Region.

Every three years, the Alchemy Towers from all five regions would send their most outstanding Apprentices to compete in Thousand Mist Capital. The winners would receive rewards from the Thousand Mist Capital’s Central Guild.

Among these rewards was something Qin Yichen wanted most – the Everchanging Glass Fruit.

It was an essential ingredient for refining the Transformation Pill.

There was only one Everchanging Glass Fruit Tree in all of the Thousand Mist Empire, and it grew on the Thousand Mist Alchemy Peak.

Each time it bore three fruits, and one would definitely be given as a reward to the summit’s champion.

Just thinking about the uses of the Transformation Pill made Qin Yichen’s heart burn with desire. He could use the Transformation Pill to break through in one go.

Of course, the Pill Formula for the Transformation Pill would only appear seven thousand years later. Now, even if others obtained the Everchanging Glass Fruit, consuming it would only yield about one or two tenths of its efficacy. With that kind of inefficiency, attempting to break through to Spirit Realm using just the Everchanging Glass Fruit was absolutely impossible.

Besides the Everchanging Glass Fruit, the Transformation Pill required several other precious spirit medicines.

Without those spirit medicines, it naturally would not have the proper effect.

“We’ll go to the Feather Lake Dynasty first. It’s only two days’ journey from the Thousand Mist Capital. That way, we only need to set out one day before the Alchemy World Summit.” Wang Daoyun explained to Qin Yichen along the way.

Thousand Mist Capital was where the Alchemy World Summit was held. The Feather Lake Dynasty, which was closest to the Thousand Mist Capital for them, was still within the Northern Region.

The Feather Lake Dynasty was a different Dynasty, similar to the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty within the Central Province of the Northern Region. It could be considered a First Tier Dynasty power, even stronger than the Central Province’s First Tier Forces.

Because of its proximity to where the Alchemy World Summit was held each time, the Feather Lake Dynasty produced countless outstanding Alchemy Masters.

At the Feather Lake Dynasty’s Royal City Alchemy Guild.

When they learned that the three participants from the Central Province Alchemy Tower were about to arrive, countless people had already blocked the area outside the Alchemy Guild, leaving no space to squeeze through.

At the centre was a bright red carpet laid out straight ahead, and at the end of the carpet stood two people, one old and one young.

This Elder’s face was full of wrinkles, showing his age. However, his eyes sparkled with a sharp light that let others know he was no ordinary Elder. He was Chen Liuzhi, the Guildmaster of the Feather Lake Dynasty’s Alchemy Guild.

Chen Liuzhi was a Peak Stage Fourth Grade Alchemy Master, qualified enough to serve as an Elder even within the Alchemy Tower.

The young man standing slightly behind him was his Grandson, Chen Feng, the number one amongst the younger generation of Alchemy Masters in the Feather Lake Dynasty.

Although Chen Feng was only about twenty-four, twenty-five years old, he had already become a Third Grade Alchemy Master.

Both Grandfather and Grandson were extremely talented Alchemy Masters, which had become a beautiful story in the Feather Lake Dynasty. Some even said Chen Feng surpassed his Grandfather and might achieve even greater heights than Chen Liuzhi in the future.

“Grandfather, are the people from the Alchemy Tower really as formidable as you say?” Chen Feng could not help but ask while waiting.

“The Alchemy Tower is our Northern Region’s holy land for Alchemy. It is a place all Alchemy Masters in the entire Northern Region aspire to reach.” Speaking of the Alchemy Tower, Chen Liuzhi’s eyes flashed with nostalgia and yearning. In his youth, he had entered the Alchemy Tower. However, he had been stuck at the Third Grade and had to leave. Later, he gained an opportunity during his travels outside and finally broke through to the Fourth Grade.

“Is that so? I just can’t believe it…” Chen Feng pouted and muttered.

“Feng’er, don’t be proud just because you’ve become a Third Grade Alchemy Master. You need to train harder. For your Spiritual Energy cultivation, you need to at least break through to the Spirit Realm before attempting the Alchemy Tower test.” Chen Liuzhi shook his head and sighed. Only those who had taken the Alchemy Tower’s test knew how rigorous it was.

“If you hadn’t stopped me, I would have entered the Alchemy Tower this year.” Chen Feng had actually obtained a spot for this year’s Alchemy Tower test, but Chen Liuzhi had told him to wait until his Spiritual Energy improved further before taking it. That way, it would greatly increase his odds of passing.

“I don’t think the Central Province Alchemy Tower is as great as you say. They always rank in last place, or second last at the Alchemy World Summit in the Thousand Mist Capital. I heard that among the three selected this time, a spot has been given to a New Apprentice who just entered the Alchemy Tower this year! The Alchemy Tower must have given up on the Alchemy World Summit…” Chen Feng’s eyes flashed with displeasure.

If Chen Liuzhi had not stopped him, that New Apprentice taking part in the summit might have been him.

“Feng’er, don’t speak nonsense!” Hearing Chen Feng’s words, Chen Liuzhi quickly looked around, and only relaxed when he found no one had heard him. Immediately, his expression turned serious as he scolded.

The summit participants were all personally reviewed and selected by the Alchemy Tower Master. Since a New Apprentice had obtained a spot, it surely meant that this New Apprentice had some unique qualities. This was not something people like them should mock.

*Whoosh!* Just then, a commotion erupted from the far end of the red carpet, and three figures appeared walking side by side at the edge of their vision.

“Enough. Remember not to speak carelessly, especially about that person in the middle – he’s Zhao Lin from the Zhao family!” Seeing Zhao Lin’s arrogant demeanour, Chen Liuzhi’s pupils contracted slightly, and he quickly reminded Chen Feng again before striding forward to meet them.

“Zhao Lin!?” Chen Feng was also startled, his eyes flashing with awe. Even here, in the Feather Lake Dynasty, he had heard of Zhao Lin’s name.

His terrifying talent as an Alchemy Master and unrestrained personality had already won Chen Feng’s admiration just from hearing about him.

“The arrival of three Masters honours us. Please forgive our belated welcome.” Chen Liuzhi approached with a smile, respectfully bowing to Zhao Lin and the others.

“Old man, same as usual, lend me your Pill Furnace for a few days.” Zhao Lin waved his hand, too lazy for pleasantries and speaking directly.

“It would be our honour. Masters, please come this way.” Chen Liuzhi secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Zhao Lin was an alchemy fanatic. Otherwise, the Feather Lake Dynasty’s Royal Capital might have been thrown into chaos during their stay.

“Greetings, Senior Brother Zhao.” Chen Feng also came forward, eyes shining as he bowed and stared with glimmering eyes at Zhao Lin.
