Alchemy Master

Chapter 233, Rising Smoke

Translator: Silavin

Although the Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower had not performed well in previous summits, even ranking at the bottom, as one of the five regional Alchemy Towers, it still had many admirers.

“Hmph! That fellow’s got such a massive attitude. Has he forgotten how badly he was taught a lesson the last time?”

“I heard that among those sent by the Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower, there’s a New Apprentice…”

“Pfft… really? They’ve become so self-destructive, why doesn’t the Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower just dissolve already?”

As they passed through the outer region into the inner region, some Alchemy Masters from the Thousand Mist Capital saw Zhao Ritian’s arrogant demeanour and could not help but mock him.

Hearing these voices, Zhao Ritian’s brows furrowed, and a subtle Spiritual Energy rippled outward.

*Hum…* In an instant, this area was enveloped by Zhao Ritian’s Partially Accomplished Spirit Realm Spiritual Energy.

Under the pressure of this Spiritual Energy, those noisy clamours immediately died down, and the mocking gazes turned to shock. After all, Zhao Ritian’s Spiritual Energy had advanced so much again.

“Damn Dogs. In my territory, today, you’ll all have to kneel and call me Master…” After dealing with these noisy voices, Zhao Ritian loudly cursed, making those who had mocked him earlier blush with shame.

However, they did not dare to speak up again, only cursing silently in their hearts.

Even though Zhao Ritian had badly lost face at the last summit, he was still absolutely beyond their comparison.

Led by the staff member of the Thousand Mist Alchemy Peak, Qin Yichen and his two companions arrived at a seating area at the front.

This area was noticeably spacious, and the clamour was much less here.

“Hehe… haven’t seen you in two years, you waste. Your Spiritual Energy cultivation seem to have made some breakthrough.”

Just as the three of them sat down, a mocking voice came from their left.

“Lin Yi!” Hearing this voice, Zhao Ritian’s body trembled, and he turned his head abruptly, his eyes filled with rage as he stared at the speaker.

Qin Yichen also frowned and looked aside. He saw three young men sitting in the seats to their left, with the one who had spoken being in the middle.

“They’re from the Western Region’s Alchemy Tower. At the last summit, their Western Region got second place…” Wang Daoyun whispered to Qin Yichen’s ear. “Lin Yi took first place in formula creation and development at the last summit, and he humiliated Zhao Ritian in front of everyone, saying he was not even equal to an ordinary Apprentice from the Western Region…”

“Oh?” Qin Yichen nodded and withdrew his gaze. He did not want to be like Zhao Ritian, staring down Lin Yi and becoming the focus of everyone’s attention.

Just as Qin Yichen withdrew his gaze, he suddenly noticed the crowd opposite them stirring, and then a metre wide path parted through the packed crowd.

Qin Yichen’s gaze turned in that direction.

There, a young man of about twenty-four or twenty-five years old slowly walked with an air of superiority over all. His handsome face, combined with his natural bearing, immediately caused countless young women in the square to scream.

Behind this young man, two youths of similar age walked side by side, finally sitting down in the seats opposite of Qin Yichen.

Seeing these three arrive, Zhao Ritian withdrew his gaze, his expression becoming somewhat grave. Meanwhile Wang Daoyun, for some reason, turned his head, as if not daring to even look at these three.

“They are from the Eastern Region’s Alchemy Tower. The championship of the recent summits have fallen to their Eastern Region Alchemy Tower.”

“The one in the middle is called Qiao Huang. In the last summit, he was already an unparalleled Fourth Grade Alchemy Master. Now, he’s probably broken through to Fifth Grade…”

While introducing them to Qin Yichen, Zhao Ritian’s voice was heavy. This was rare. It clearly showed that the three opposite them gave him immense pressure.

Though proud, he was not actually an arrogant person. On the contrary, Zhao Ritian was someone who understood his own strength very well, which was why he had not looked down on Qin Yichen too much. He now treated him more like a close friend than just a friend.

“Qiao Huang, huh?” Hearing this name, Qin Yichen had some impression of him.

Qiao Huang was indeed a rare Alchemy Prodigy, but in his previous life, he had not had any interaction with Qin Yichen.

However, the people from the Western Region, well, they could be said to be old acquaintances.

He remembered very clearly that Lin Yi had even come to the Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower and trampled the dignity of all Alchemy Masters in the Northern Region.

Though the summit had not begun, smoke was already starting to rise.

The Northern Region Alchemy Tower’s Master, though not travelling with Qin Yichen and the others, was already at the Alchemy Peak on this day.

Now, all five Tower Masters, and a middle-aged man, sat in a pavilion on the Alchemy Peak. This pavilion was the high platform, where they could oversee everything below.

Inside, tea fragrance permeated the air, and with the surrounding clouds and mist drifting by, it gave the several old men somewhat of an Immortal’s bearing.

However, while speaking, their tones were not harmonious. It destroyed the overall atmosphere.

“Old Zuo, I heard you brought some wet-behind-the-ears kid this time. What? Are you looking down on us from the Western Region, huh?”

Sitting on the west side, the Western Region Alchemy Tower Master, with a sizable scar at the corner of his eye, spoke directly to the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master. Though it was a question, he was clearly mocking the Northern Region for lacking talent.

As he spoke, the scar on his cheek writhed like a centipede, adding a few hints of fierceness to his bearing.

This was extremely rare.

There were also rumours saying that the scar on his face was left by the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master.

With his words, the gazes of the surrounding Tower Masters all fell intentionally or unintentionally on the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master. Some were expressionless, some sneering, some thoughtful.

As Tower Masters, they naturally knew who each region had sent to the summit. It was just that the Northern Region had made such an unexpected change.

After all, they had not heard of such a person in the Northern Region before. Of course, they had also learned that he was a New Apprentice.

Though the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master was devoted to the Dao of Alchemy, he should not do anything too outrageous, right?

Could it be that he had this New Apprentice participate just for the sake of giving him experience?

However, if that was the case, the Northern Region would likely end up at the bottom this time.

*Hehe.* The Northern Region Alchemy Tower Master Zuo Xuezhen merely pursed his lips slightly, as if disliking the tea in his cup. He raised an eyebrow and looked at the Western Region Alchemy Tower Master, “I think that kid is enough to deal with your Western Region.”

“Is that so?”

The Western Region Alchemy Tower Master Qiu Yushu, worthy of being an old fox, was not easily provoked. Instead, he smiled noncommittally and casually said to the surrounding Tower Masters, “It seems like someone has decided to give up.”
