Alchemy Master

Chapter 214, Seems to Have Some Strength

Translator: Silavin

For the Alchemy World Summit, each Alchemy Tower could send three people to participate.

However, the three would act as one team. If one person performed poorly, it would affect the entire team.

Zhao Ritian had been putting in his utmost effort to prepare for this upcoming Alchemy World Summit. He did not expect the first spot would be given to such a greenhorn.

This made him wonder if that ‘old man’ had made this decision just to increase the difficulty for him.

[Did that old man find out it was me who picked his Rainbow Feather Flower?] Zhao Ritian’s neck shrank back. That was a flower that only bloomed once every hundred years, yet he had stolen and used it. Worse, he had wasted it…

Qin Yichen naturally knew what he was worried about. He did not want to explain anything to Zhao Ritian. On the contrary, he felt that this guy would be lucky enough not to drag him down. Yet, he was now complaining about him. [How nonsensical!]

“I don’t know what the Tower Master sees in you.” Zhao Ritian’s brows furrowed slightly, his voice gradually growing colder as he said. “But, trash like you has no qualifications to participate. I advise you to obediently give up your spot…”

“Whether I’m qualified or not isn’t for a failure like you to decide.” Before Zhao Ritian could finish speaking, Qin Yichen interrupted him.

Elder Xiao Lin had told him about Zhao Ritian’s situation. It was not that Zhao Ritian’s talent was poor, but rather that his creativity was limited.

*Siii…* Almost everyone in the Alchemy Tower knew about how Zhao Ritian had failed while representing the Alchemy Tower at the last Alchemy World Summit. In fact, this was something that caused Zhao Ritian the greatest pain and regret.

Now, for Qin Yichen to dare say such words in front of him, it undoubtedly made the surrounding Apprentices inwardly shudder. Subsequently, they could not help but move back a few more steps, afraid of being caught in the crossfire of Zhao Ritian’s explosive anger.

Ranked second on the Alchemy Ranking, Zhao Ritian’s strength was unquestionable. Wang Daoyun, who ranked first, had gone travelling and had not appeared in the Alchemy Tower for over a year. One could say that among the current Alchemy Tower Apprentices, Zhao Ritian was the top!

Yet, Qin Yichen dared to act this way in front of the top Apprentice amongst all other Apprentices…

“Failure?” Hearing these words, a flash of pain crossed the depths of Zhao Ritian’s eyes. However, surprisingly, contrary to everyone’s expectations, he did not explode in rage on the spot. “Do you dare to have an Alchemy Duel with me?!”

*Hmph!* Qin Yichen rolled his eyes and ignored him. [In the future, in fact, even now, this guy is famously obsessed with Alchemy. If I get entangled with him, I would never have any peace!]

“Uh…” Watching Qin Yichen walk straight past him, Zhao Ritian stood frozen, unable to react for a long while.

He, Zhao Ritian, had actually been ignored!

“Qin Yichen!” He practically spat that name through gritted teeth.

Afterward, Zhao Ritian first went to the Tower Master’s courtyard, but was kicked out within three seconds, without even being given a reason.

“You old undying thing, you ceaseless turtle, just because I used one of your Rainbow Feather Flowers, you’re making things difficult for me like this!?” He loudly cursed at the courtyard, looking dishevelled.

“What!? So it was you who stole my Rainbow Feather Flower?!” Instantly, an enraged voice came from inside. Then people saw their revered Tower Master charge out with a stick, chasing after Zhao Ritian and furiously beating him, creating a scene of complete chaos.

“Damn you… how is someone as old and undying as you hitting me so hard…” Touching his swollen face, Zhao Ritian grimaced in pain.

Unable to deal with this Elder, he went after someone younger.

In the following days, he kept pestering Qin Yichen, maintaining an attitude that he would not give up unless Qin Yichen surrendered.

However, Qin Yichen simply ignored him, continuing to do whatever he needed to do as usual.

Of course, over these days, Zhao Ritian’s cursing decreased significantly. He discovered that this youth before him was not as incompetent as he had imagined.

It seemed like he had some strength after all.

At the Ten Thousand Precipice Tower, which was the best place to temper one’s Spiritual Energy, ordinary Apprentices could usually only stay inside for about one day per month.

After all, they did not have enough Contribution Points to spend there.

For example, various medicinal herbs and reading various ancient records all required Contribution Points.

Especially reading ancient records and Alchemy Masters’ notes, these required large amounts of Contribution Points.

Since Qin Yichen had received a spot in the upcoming Alchemy World Summit, he had gained special permission. He was now basically staying in the Ten Thousand Precipice Tower whenever he had time.

Inside the Ten Thousand Precipice Tower, Spiritual Energy storms were like blade edges. It was considered quite good if ordinary people could stay inside for one or two hours.

Someone like Zhao Ritian could only stay inside for a day.

However, Qin Yichen had already been inside for three days and still had not come out!

To verify he was inside, every time Zhao Ritian came here, he would go in to check.

“That guy, he can actually stay this long?” Once again, when Zhao Ritian could not stay any longer and stood up to leave, Qin Yichen still had not moved. He was just sitting there like a meditating monk, not even blinking an eye.

Still, sweat could be seen flowing down his forehead.

Zhao Ritian wanted to say something but in the end just pursed his lips without saying anything.

In terms of endurance, without question, Qin Yichen was above him.

Of course, this did not mean he was willing to let Qin Yichen take up a spot.

After all, with his Spiritual Energy cultivation level, Qin Yichen would be weakest at the summit. In his view, a rookie like Qin Yichen who had just entered the Spirit Realm would only get eliminated at the summit.

Finally, on the fifth day, Qin Yichen came out of the Ten Thousand Precipice Tower.

Although he appeared somewhat mentally exhausted, his eyes were even brighter, proving his Spiritual Energy had improved again.

“Hmph! What’s so great about that?” Zhao Ritian disdainfully commented.

“Hehe.” Qin Yichen just gave him a faint glance and continued to ignore him, treating him like air.

“Damn it…” Zhao Ritian had thought he was arrogant enough, but compared to this guy before him, he was practically too easy to talk to.

In fact, it was only now that he realised that he might just be an ordinary person!

[That is absolutely intolerable!] He decided to properly educate this New Apprentice.

“Don’t think you can look down on everything just because you have good endurance!” He chased after Qin Yichen, blocked his way, and said with the air of a senior, “Although Spiritual Energy is important, achievement, Alchemy, herb recognition – none of these can be neglected. The way you are now, you’re not even qualified to be a shoe carrier at the Alchemy World Summit.”

“I think you are talking about yourself instead.” Qin Yichen’s lips curved.

Apparently, when this guy first went to the summit, he had only focused on improving his Spiritual Energy cultivation level while neglecting everything else, which was why he had failed so miserably.
