Alchemy Master

Chapter 201, The Deacon’s Decision

Translator: Silavin

Without improving formulas and creating new ones, the World of Alchemy would not be able to progress. Likewise, Alchemy Masters would not have the glory they hold on to today.

This concept applies to Alchemy Masters as well. Creating new Pills demonstrates an Alchemy Master’s diverse abilities. Without understanding various medicinal herbs to a certain degree, it would be impossible to create new Pills.

Elder Xiao Lin recommended Qin Yichen not because he was reckless. Rather, it was because of the Compound Pill concepts Qin Yichen had discussed with him.

Those ideas were far too advanced. They were something nobody else dared to imagine, yet this youth was already working on it, and might have even succeeded in creating such a Pill!

He could already imagine the huge sensation this would cause at the Alchemy World Summit, when Qin Yichen produced a Compound Pill.

Just thinking about it made him excited.

“Deacon Min, did you know, my Clear Mind Pill research has already succeeded!” After speaking, Elder Xiao Lin handed over the recently refined Pill.

“What!? You’ve succeeded!?” Deacon Min abruptly stood up, almost snatching the Pill before carefully examining it.

He knew about the Clear Mind Pill. After all, this was a Pill that could heal one’s Soul!

Martial Artists got injured, and Alchemy Masters got injured too. Moreover, when Alchemy Masters got injured, it was more troublesome to heal. These injuries could even leave permanent damage.

Even minor injuries were very difficult to recover from.

Everyone thought Elder Xiao Lin was wasting time researching the Clear Mind Pill. Several Elders even mocked him for doing such useless work.

However, everyone knew what impact it would have if the Clear Mind Pill was successfully developed.

However, it was just too difficult, almost impossible.

Yet in just a few years, Elder Xiao Lin had succeeded!?

Deacon Min did not believe it. No, he could not believe it. However, after consuming the Clear Mind Pill and waiting a few minutes, he opened his eyes in utter shock.

“It really does heal the Soul!”

Deacon Min’s voice was no longer as calm as he asked. “How did you do it?”

Many people had tried to develop the Clear Mind Pill, even the Alchemy Tower Master had attempted it, but they have always failed. Even his Master could not figure it out, and eventually had to give up.

Elder Xiao Lin’s talent was good, but how could he make such a breakthrough in just three years!?

Moreover, he remembered that Elder Xiao Lin had asked him some questions about herbs just a few days ago.

“It was Qin Yichen, he was the one that enlightened me.” Elder Xiao Lin took a deep breath and said.

“Qin Yichen?” Deacon Min’s brows furrowed deeply, seemingly pondering over the truth of these words.

It was ridiculous. A teenager with exceptional mastery over Spiritual Energy and cultivation was already impressive enough. How could he focus on other things while improving his cultivation and skills?

Even if he did focus on other things, and specifically researched the Clear Mind Pill, how could someone only in his teens achieve such results?

The Dao of Alchemy emphasized inheritance and the accumulation of experience. Take Gu Ye for example – he still could not reach the Understanding Realm because he lacked a proper guide and enough experience.

Without guidance or experience, without any direction, even with excellent talent and aptitude, it would be hard to achieve anything. Especially with the Clear Mind Pill.

This was a Pill that even the Alchemy Tower could not  figure out.

“It was none other than him.” Elder Xiao Lin nodded and continued, “Qin Yichen told me that the Clear Mind Pill isn’t an ordinary Pill, but rather a Compound Pill…”

He soon explained the concepts of Compound Pills.

“A Pill that combines different medicinal effects into one is called a Compound Pill?” Deacon Min grew ever more astonished as he listened.

These concepts definitely did not sound like they came from a youth’s mouth.

“The Clear Mind Pill’s effect isn’t actually healing the Soul as we initially thought. Rather, it nourishes and stabilises the Soul, allowing it to showcase some semblance of healing…”

Elder Xiao Lin sighed deeply. It was after hearing these words from Qin Yichen that he gradually came to believe in him.

Nourishing the Soul, stabilising the Soul, and healing the Soul might seem the same, but the concepts were actually very different. No wonder even the Tower Master could not figure it out.

After listening, Deacon Min paced back and forth in the room. After a long while, he finally stopped.

“Did he really tell you all this? Did he also perfect the formula for the Clear Mind Pill?”

“That’s right.” Elder Xiao Lin continued nodding and smiled bitterly, “Actually, I never even told him about the medicinal herbs used in the Clear Mind Pill. He seemed to already know about it…”

This was what he found very puzzling.

Qin Yichen had even helped him remove several conflicting medicinal herbs he had added… This meant that Qin Yichen seemed to know everything about his work.

This was inconceivable.

“Who else knows about this?” Deacon Min’s expression grew serious.

“Just me.” Hearing this, Deacon Min slightly relaxed, “For now, don’t spread this news.”

Of course, this was not to diminish Qin Yichen’s achievement, but rather to hide and protect him.

“I understand.” Elder Xiao Lin certainly knew the weight of this matter.

After a long pause.

“You’re right, we can indeed let that kid try to participate at the summit…” Deacon Min seemed somewhat eager to try. He really wanted to see the expressions of those who looked down on his Northern Region’s Alchemy Tower.

“But, that kid’s Spiritual Energy cultivation level is still too low. We must apply more pressure on him to make him improve…” He muttered to himself, his eyes gleaming.

Originally, he had planned to reprimand and warn Elder Chixing and the Huyuan Family, but now he felt like there was no need.

People could only achieve greater growth under pressure. Of course, Qin Yichen did not know that his one instance of being late had caused such a commotion, even earning him a spot at the summit.

Heaven had destined that he could never rest peacefully.

…

Even so, right now, standing before him were one Three Stars Apprentice and three Two Stars Apprentices.

These people were not from Huyuan Songqing, but from the An Family!

The Three Stars Apprentice leading them was a Direct Disciple of the An Family, called An Huaming.

Being able to become a Three Stars Apprentice naturally proved his talent.

“Brat, don’t think you’re safe just because you’ve entered the Alchemy Tower. You’ll be driven out of here soon enough…” An Huaming growled in a low voice.

The reason he hated Qin Yichen so much was because he was the Grandson of the An Family Elder who had reached the Partially Accomplished Spirit Realm (Which is a step higher than Peak Stage Spirit Realm).

The fact that he had not directly taken action also proved that he was very wary of the Alchemy Tower’s rules.

Within the Alchemy Tower, fighting was not allowed, and even for an Alchemy Duel, both parties had to be willing to participate before it could be held.
