Alchemy Master

Chapter 222, Summoned by the Tower Master

Those pursuing Lin Miaohan were shocked by Zhao Ritian’s attitude, though Qin Yichen did not think much of it. They could not possibly be unaware of who Zhao Ritian was.

He was truly someone who followed no rules. Offend him and they would be lucky to escape with just their skin peeled off. Naturally, their pleas would not help.

When had they ever seen this unruly Demon King Zhao Ritian be so polite to anyone?

“Wait a moment.” Qin Yichen ignored Zhao Ritian’s impatience, then calmly looked at those Apprentices with unpleasant expressions before saying to Lin Miaohan, “Big Sister Miaohan, if any flies come to bother you, just shoo them away, understand?”

From Lin Miaohan’s attitude toward them, he could see that Lin Miaohan was very annoyed by them. It was just that she was too afraid of offending them.

After all, Lin Miaohan had not adapted to her current status yet, and subconsciously, she was still very wary of those youths from the Central Province.

“Flies? What flies!?” Zhao Ritian was slightly stunned, but after his gaze fell on those few Apprentices, he seemed to understand. His eyes soon narrowed as he sinisterly said, “Since they’re flies, just kill them with one slap, why bother with such troubles?”

Hearing these words, those few Apprentices’ faces changed dramatically. They fled in a panic like stray dogs. Even the Four Star Apprentice was no exception.

Although also a Four Star Apprentice, he did not have the courage to oppose Zhao Ritian.

Obviously, after they left, Lin Miaohan finally relaxed, and her gaze toward Qin Yichen became watery with emotion. In her heart, Qin Yichen was no longer that Little Brother she knew. He was now a man… worthy of her reliance.

“Let’s quickly go, that old man is getting impatient.” While they were being lovey-dovey, Zhao Ritian grumbled, seeming somewhat eager as he pulled Qin Yichen along.

Qin Yichen followed behind Zhao Ritian in confusion. After walking for about ten minutes, he suddenly realised that this path they had entered led to the deepest part of the Alchemy Tower. It was an area that could only be freely accessed by the Alchemy Tower’s higher-ups.

Finally, Zhao Ritian stopped in front of a courtyard.

“Here we are.” Zhao Ritian jerked his chin toward the courtyard ahead, casually kicking the wooden fence gate flying as he walked straight in.

“This… isn’t this the Tower Master’s residence?”

Seeing Zhao Ritian’s crude actions, Qin Yichen could not help but twitch his mouth. If he remembered correctly, this was where the Alchemy Tower Master lived.

Following behind Zhao Ritian into the courtyard, Qin Yichen’s gaze swept around.

In this courtyard, on the left were two huge Medicine Cauldrons, and beside them was a row of wooden shelves filled with various medicinal herbs – clearly used by the Tower Master for daily Pill refining.

On the right side of the courtyard, there was a row of wooden sticks leaning against the wall, and in the corner, there seemed to be several sticks broken in half.

“The two Junior Brothers have finally arrived. I presume this must be Junior Brother Qin Yichen, yes?” While Qin Yichen was observing, a greeting voice came from a small pavilion in the courtyard.

Qin Yichen turned to look, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Standing in the small pavilion was a young man about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, wearing a friendly smile and the Northern Region Alchemy Tower Alchemist Robe. He had a Four Star Apprentice Medal, which countless Alchemy Tower Alchemists admired, pinned to his chest.

“Wang Daoyun, didn’t I tell you to stop using your Senior Brother title to pressure me? What are you babbling about!?”

Zhao Ritian rolled his eyes at the young man as he grumbled.

However, this young man was used to Zhao Ritian’s rudeness and showed no anger on his face. His gaze was still fixed on Qin Yichen.

“Wang Daoyun?” Hearing Zhao Ritian’s address, Qin Yichen understood that this young man was Wang Daoyun – the genius Alchemist who steadily outranked Zhao Ritian and held first place on the Alchemy Ranking!

Speaking of which, Wang Daoyun was also a rare talent. He was not from the Eight Millennial Families, and like Qin Yichen, he had come from a low tier country, using his genius abilities to stand out among thousands and enter the Alchemy Tower through the Alchemy Tower test.

He even squeezed into first place in the Alchemy Ranking and dominated that position for several years.

“Qin Yichen greets Senior Brother.” Meeting for the first time, Qin Yichen also cupped his fists in greeting.

“Haha, like what he said, let’s not be so formal with our Senior and Junior titles when it is just between us. Just call me Brother Wang.”

Wang Daoyun nodded at Qin Yichen, smiling as he said. “I’ve heard about you too. If I hadn’t heard it from Zhao Ritian, I really wouldn’t have believed that in the future, this Alchemy Tower would be a stage that can only fit you.”

“Brother Wang, you are surely overpraising me.” Qin Yichen also smiled modestly as he spoke, still somewhat uncomfortable with such flattery.

“All three are here?” Just as Qin Yichen was about to sit down, an elderly voice sounded from within the courtyard. The Tower Master’s figure soon appeared at the doorway.

“Oh? Spiritual Energy cultivation approaching Partially Accomplished Spirit Realm? Not bad, not bad at all. Looks like you’ve suffered quite a bit in the Ten Thousand Precipice Tower these days.”

When the Tower Master’s gaze fell on Qin Yichen, a trace of satisfaction flashed in his eyes.

“The Alchemy Tower gave this Apprentice this opportunity. Naturally, I wouldn’t dare waste it.” Qin Yichen bowed to the Tower Master and spoke with respectf.

The Tower Master had shown great kindness to Qin Yichen in his previous life, and his later glorious achievements owed much to this Elder’s wholehearted nurturing back then.

“Such young age, yet you have cultivated your Spiritual Energy to this level and you are still so humble and proper. Good, good.” The Tower Master nodded, satisfied with him. However, his gaze turned to Zhao Ritian as he ‘casually’ said out loud, “Unlike certain people, sigh…”

“I have to say, you old bag of bones, since when did you start speaking so indirectly?” Zhao Ritian threw his head back, coolly flicking his hair as he sat with one leg crossed.

“Such an impetuous personality, sigh, if you don’t change this temperament of yours…” The Tower Master shook his head, suddenly freezing as his gaze stopped on the broken wooden fence in the centre of the courtyard, where there seemed to be a clear footprint…

*Whoosh!* Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through the courtyard, and a wooden stick flew up from beside the wall, caught by the Tower Master.

*Swoosh!* As soon as the Tower Master moved, Zhao Ritian did not hesitate at all. He immediately got up and ran.

However, though Zhao Ritian’s Spiritual Energy cultivation was decent, his achievements in the Dao of Martial Arts were truly embarrassing. In just a few breaths, he was caught by the Tower Master.

*Bang! Bang!* Accompanied by Zhao Ritian’s miserable screams, the Tower Master wielded his wooden stick, delivering a barrage of strikes.
