Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 337: Chapter 243: The Incredible Floating Sea

The inspections here were so excessively thorough that they made not just Knights and Witches, but even Wizards themselves, uncomfortable. As a result, the Flesh Sect’s members in the Floating Sea were primarily Wizards, with very few outside allies.

This was unavoidable. After all, the battle for the Floating Islands was of utmost importance, and failure could often be traced back to a lack of attention to detail.

However, while others had such concerns, Phoenix did not. Though the check was a bit meticulous, it was just a normal inspection. The people of the Flesh Sect wouldn’t do anything with the data. He knew for a fact that the examinations he underwent at the Truth Association were even more thorough, and it was clear that data was being used for research.

Some were studying his Authority, while others were naturally studying how to counter him.

Phoenix was well aware of this, but he simply didn’t care. As long as he could increase his strength, anything was acceptable. As for what would happen if someone developed a counter to him...

It was simple: he just had to become strong enough!

And in this regard, Phoenix was very confident!

Therefore, a combination of factors made him less concerned about the meticulous inspections. He had long since grown used to them.

Finally, under the astonished gazes of the inspection hall staff, Phoenix walked out of the Magic Array with a look of contentment. Ever since chaos had erupted in the Endless Sea, he had been rushing from place to place, whether for missions from the Association or invitations like the one from Isaac. In short, he was extremely busy and hadn’t undergone an inspection like this in a long time.

’Experiencing it so suddenly is actually rather nostalgic...’

”All done? Everything’s okay, right?” Phoenix asked curiously, looking at the report in Isaac’s hand.

”Why are you asking a question like that? Shouldn’t you know whether there’s a problem or not?” Isaac put away the report and asked with curiosity.

Of course, there was nothing wrong with Phoenix, but Isaac was very curious why the man would ask such a question.

”Because I have no idea what the Association has installed in my body,” Phoenix said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

”...You’re... something else!” Isaac shook his head, silently gave him a thumbs-up, and then said, ”Don’t worry, you’re fine. Everything’s normal. The Truth Association didn’t put anything in your body, or at least nothing was detected here.”

”As long as there’s no problem.” Phoenix nodded, seemingly only concerned with whether he could pass. He quickly asked, ”So what should we do now?”

”Now...” Isaac glanced at the bustling Flesh Temple and smiled faintly as his Magic Book materialized. ”It’s time to get straight to the missions, of course.”

The Magic Book in Isaac’s hand began to flip its pages on its own, RUSTLE, RUSTLE, RUSTLE, stopping after a short while. On the page, strings of information scrolled by continuously.

These were all the missions for the Floating Sea campaign.

Compared to before, Isaac could see many more missions. This was not only because the campaign had escalated and the fighting had become more intense, but also because Isaac’s own clearance level had risen.

Relatively speaking, however, while he could see more missions now, the variety of tasks was actually much smaller than before. This was the Floating Sea, where combat was the main theme, so the mission types were naturally quite monotonous.

It was unlike before, where there had been defensive missions and even purely production-related tasks, which were very safe.

Of course, in contrast, as the danger level increased, the returns became exceptionally generous. The combat missions in the Floating Sea not only offered more contribution points, but the rewards for each mission were also extremely lavish!

With just a brief glance, Isaac spotted many materials that could be used to construct a Floating City!

And many of them were core materials!

Of course, even though they were all combat missions, the objectives of the Floating Sea missions were different from before. Previously, combat missions had mainly two types of objectives: one was to ambush the Mechanical God Sect’s ambush teams, and the other was the type Isaac had completed most often—resource scavenging missions.

But the combat missions here in the Floating Sea were different. Here, it was simply about killing!

Target an area, then eliminate everyone within it who wasn’t aligned with the Flesh Sect!

This extreme approach was mainly due to the unique nature of the Floating Sea.

The Floating Sea’s name came from two sources. First, it was a sea in the sky. Beneath its ’seabed’ was not solid ground, but the empty sky. And below that sky were the other, ordinary oceans of the Endless Sea.

An ocean floating in the sky—this was one origin of the name ”Floating Sea.”

The other was related to the Floating Sea’s output.

As a Creation of a Great Wizard, the Endless Sea holds countless Secret Treasures and marvels, and the Floating Sea is one of them. An ocean floating in the sky is a wondrous thing, but what’s even more wondrous is that it also nurtures islands that can float in the sky—in other words, Floating Islands!

That’s right. The special resource produced by the Floating Sea was none other than Floating Islands, a crucial material for constructing the superweapon known as a Floating City!

Although Floating Islands weren’t an indispensable material for building a Floating City, there was no doubt that having them would significantly reduce the cost and difficulty of construction!

The fact that it produced a special resource like Floating Islands already made the Floating Sea extremely important. What drove people even more frantic was that the speed at which these things were nurtured was not slow at all!

According to research by the Sect’s Wizards, it has been largely confirmed that Floating Islands are nurtured in the Floating Sea in two ways. The first is Natural Nurturing. This method involves gathering Four Elements Magic Power to create an island from nothing. Although this process is effortless as the island forms on its own, it is very slow. Even with the high concentration of Magic Power in the Endless Sea, it takes at least ten years to form a single, minimum-standard Floating Island.

Of course, this speed wasn’t actually low. It was fast enough to drive many Wizard Organizations into a frenzy.

A mere ten years was but the blink of an eye for a Transcendent.

But besides Natural Nurturing, there was an even faster method: moving an ordinary island to the Floating Sea and using the Sea’s special Magic Power to assimilate it, turning it into an ’acquired’ Floating Island!

Compared to natural nurturing, the latter method was incalculably better!

Not only was the time drastically reduced, but assimilating a minimum-standard Floating Island took less than half a year!

Furthermore, these Floating Islands were in no way different from naturally formed ones!

How could such a heaven-defying property not drive people into a frenzy?

Fortunately, the first to discover this sea was the Flesh Sect. They occupied it early on. Although other factions coveted it greatly after its discovery, they were wary of the Flesh Sect’s terrifying power and ultimately chose not to join the struggle. Otherwise, the current battle would be even more chaotic and intense!

After all, the Endless Sea still held many undiscovered treasures and marvels, so there was no need for them to focus too much of their energy here—except for the Mechanical God Sect...

They were already hostile toward the Flesh Sect, so naturally, they wouldn’t stand by and watch the Sect possess such a treasure-filled land. Thus, the battle ignited and quickly spiraled out of control!

Before long, Isaac picked out a suitable mission from the torrent of tasks: raid Nurturing Field A1976. The mission was simple: kill and destroy!

Kill all Mechanical God Sect Wizards and Creations within the area, and destroy all Floating Islands that are currently being nurtured or are complete but have not yet been collected!

Simple and brutal, with no technical skill required.

Moreover, if one was strong enough, it could be carried out with very high efficiency.

However, Isaac and Phoenix were not the only ones assigned to this mission. The Floating Sea was unlike other places; here, Tier Three was just the basic level of combat power. Any slightly important location would basically be guarded by a Tier Four Miracle Mage, sometimes even more than one!

A place that nurtured Floating Islands was naturally a rather important location. Therefore, on this trip, Isaac and Phoenix were not the main fighting force. Their primary task was sabotage.

As for the killing...

That would naturally be handled by two other Tier Four Mages.
