Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 321: Chapter 235: A Beast’s Dawn — Soron (Part 2)

But...

This was an Extraordinary World where ultimate power belonged to the individual!

Therefore, even among Wizards who pursued the Truth, the strong ruled!

And Lorna, a Great Witch—and a Dragon Witch at that, capable of summoning and controlling Giant Dragons—possessed what could only be described as heaven-defying combat prowess. At the same Level, even Isaac was no match for her.

After all, she could summon a Tier Three Pure-blooded Giant Dragon while she was only Tier Two!

A Pure-blooded Giant Dragon!

Even among High-level Creatures, they were considered a powerful type.

Although the Summoning’s duration was short, it was more than enough for a battle.

At least thirty percent of High-level Mages would not be able to overcome a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon. And as for High-level Knights...

Saying ninety percent...

...might be an understatement...

So, having Lorna manage this Wizard Organization was actually quite normal. Besides, Isaac hoped that through this, he could further build Lorna’s confidence and make her realize that she was, in fact, super strong!

’Yep, definitely not just passing the buck!’

’Definitely not!’

...

While Isaac was immersed in his research, Soron officially began his own experiments in his laboratory.

Although he had shed his goblin body and become a Legendary Mage, Soron’s research topic remained unchanged. He was still primarily studying goblins, his former kin.

He couldn’t help it. During his ascension to Legendary Mage, Soron had gained a deeper understanding of the Existence that was the goblin. Although they were a Creation of a Great Wizard, perhaps that Great Wizard’s methods were too profound, or perhaps too much time had passed, or maybe Soron’s own skills were just too poor. In any case, he could not find a single trace of artificial creation within a goblin’s body.

And if goblins were considered natural creatures, then perhaps the race still held some research value.

He wanted to try again—to help goblins break through their racial limitations and become stronger!

Just like him!

In the past, Soron’s methods for modifying goblins were relatively crude. He would either replace various body parts, directly stimulate them with Dimensional Magic Power, or do both at the same time.

All three methods yielded some results, but without exception, none managed to break the goblin’s racial limitations. The only one that could be considered a marginal success was the second method, and even that was barely a success.

This was because once a being was overly affected by the Corrosion of Dimensional Magic Power, its very Existence would shift toward the Dimension, and it could no longer be considered a normal creature.

But now, Soron had a fourth idea: Extraordinary Professions!

Regardless of the specific type, the essence of any Extraordinary Profession was a path for an Ordinary lifeform to transform into a High-level Magic Life.

This path had never been exclusive to humans, a point proven by Soron himself becoming a Legendary Mage. It was just that humans were the intelligent race that had best mastered this evolutionary path of Extraordinary Professions.

Thus, after successfully advancing to an Official Wizard, Soron had come to realize this.

Of course, Soron didn’t think his former idiotic kin could take on a great Extraordinary Profession like a Wizard. He himself had only become a Wizard thanks to His Excellency’s grace.

And forget about Wizards; he thought even becoming a Knight, or even a Warrior, would be a long shot. After all, a normal goblin’s brain was just too small, and their physical potential was appallingly low.

But, didn’t they say the world of Wizards held nearly infinite possibilities?

In this world, there just so happened to be a path that required no brains, no physical talent, and no aptitude for Magic Power to become a Transcendent—a path intimately related to goblins: Goblin Slayer!

A Goblin Slayer only needed to perform a simple ritual and wear the required attire to become a Goblin Slayer who grew stronger by killing goblins!

Although making a goblin into a Goblin Slayer was somewhat ridiculous and inhumane, goblins weren’t human. So did being ”inhumane” even matter?

Besides, Soron believed that with their tiny brains, goblins definitely had no such moral concepts.

Therefore, Soron thought this experiment was worth a try. On one hand, the research could help him get through his period of Magic Power instability more quickly. On the other hand, it would be his first attempt at establishing his own Anchor Point.

A Legendary Mage’s Anchor Point was anchored to the world, not a specific race. It wasn’t that an Anchor Point had to be beneficial to humanity; it was just that humans were the rulers of this world, first-rate in both quantity and quality. Thus, actions beneficial to humanity naturally made it easier to create an Anchor Point.

But this didn’t mean it *only* worked for things that benefited humans. For example, benefiting goblins would count too.

After all, goblins were a part of this world.

Furthermore, this experiment, at first glance, seemed like an act of aiding the enemy. Goblins were humanity’s foes, and Soron’s current stance was undoubtedly on the side of humans. If goblins grew stronger, it would only be humans who suffered.

But one mustn’t forget the most important prerequisite for a goblin to become stronger, or even a Transcendent: it had to first become a Goblin Slayer!

Then, it would have to slaughter a massive number of goblins. Only through this process, with its intelligence improving along the way, would it have a chance to become a Transcendent.

In other words, if Soron’s experiment truly succeeded, then beneath the feet of every goblin Transcendent would lie an endless sea of goblin corpses!

At that point, whether it was harmful or beneficial to humanity would be another question entirely.

...

Meanwhile, just as Isaac was throwing himself wholeheartedly into his research, the situation outside was undergoing earth-shattering changes—so much so that they could be called cataclysmic!

And all these changes occurred in the Endless Sea!

The first was the battle for Divinity, in which Isaac had helped the Terra Empire achieve partial victory. Interestingly, this ritual involved a real Divinity—a complete Divinity, the kind that would allow one to easily become a God upon obtaining it!

It was far more potent than Evans’s Divine Corpse.

Leveraging its immense national power, the Terra Empire had actually achieved decisive victories in the initial struggles across Tier One, Tier Two, Tier Three, and even Tier Four. Only the contest for Tier Five was not as smooth, but they still held a certain advantage.

But this was where the drama began.

After the ritual for the battle for Divinity ended, the Divinity did indeed appear. However, it didn’t materialize in any of the existing ritual sites, but rather at the deserted island Isaac had previously cleared out...

But that deserted island...

...had already been sunk by Isaac...

Although the Terra Empire had dispatched some forces to stand guard there, accidents sometimes happen just that suddenly. The moment the Divinity appeared, just as the people from the Terra Empire were about to secure it, a Tier Four Knight happened to be passing by...

And then...

...there was no ”and then.”

’This was a Divinity!’

’A wild Divinity, at that!’

For a Wizard, becoming a God was a matter worth careful consideration, but for a Knight, it was without a doubt a smooth and open road!

So, without a moment’s hesitation, he snatched it and ran!

And so the Terra Empire not only had the Divinity snatched from right under their noses, but they didn’t even know who had stolen it!

There was nothing to be done. The Endless Sea had just appeared, rendering ordinary Prophetic Abilities useless, while those with powerful Prophetic Abilities dared not use them. No one, not even a Demigod, dared to gamble against the whims of a Great Wizard at a time like this.

That was why the Terra Empire couldn’t determine the Divinity’s whereabouts.

Of course, a major reason they had made such a critical error was that while participating in the battle for Divinity, they were also engaged in an almost all-out war with the Apostles and Believers of the Master of Billions of Flesh!

It was said that the Demigod Emperor and the Master of Billions of Flesh had even briefly clashed outside the world!

Although it ended in the Emperor’s victory, it was, after all, just a brief clash. The Master of Billions of Flesh not only suffered no significant losses but grew even more furious. There were even rumors that It had gone to call for backup from other Gods, preparing to strike a heavy blow against the Terra Empire!

The rumors were outrageous, but they spread across the world in an incredibly short time. Clearly, someone was fanning the flames from behind the scenes.

Of course, more importantly, it was fucking true!

And so, for a time, the Terra Empire, which had been at the height of its power, suddenly showed signs of teetering on the brink?
