Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 328: Chapter 239: Advice from a Kind Elder—Fall in Love, Kid

For Isaac, whether it was the novels he read in his past life or his own deeply ingrained cautious nature, he subconsciously hid his identity as a transmigrator and the existence of his Golden Finger.

However, he also knew that some things were bound to be exposed sooner or later unless you never used them at all. It was just a matter of when.

Therefore, when he learned that this unbelievably powerful master wanted to see him, Isaac had already prepared for the worst—to confess about his Golden Finger and become the man’s dog!

’No matter what, I have to survive first.’

But clearly, Isaac still didn’t quite understand the unique nature of a Mad Witch.

Mad Witches were called ”mad” for a reason. They often undertook tasks that were tantamount to suicide; even the most unconventional paths weren’t this extreme.

But this was also what made Mad Witches so feared. After all, the things they did were suicidal missions. Under normal circumstances, they should have died dozens of times over. Yet, somehow, they always managed to survive in the end. And that was terrifying...

At that point, as long as it wasn’t a Mad Witch like Philo who relied on his Demigod father to brute force his way through, any rational person would know that such a Mad Witch was anything but ordinary.

And according to the classic tropes from the novels Isaac read in his past life, this would be the moment when some Nobility or an Old Wizard would pop up to seize the Mad Witch’s special abilities, triggering a series of classic plotlines.

The reality, however, was that while Mad Witches were universally reviled, it was because their dealings with Outer Gods could easily draw those Gods or their minions into the Real World. Some Mad Witches were even minions of Outer Gods themselves!

So, while many people hated or even hunted Mad Witches, very few actually coveted their special talents.

And this brought up the Power Traits of a Legendary Mage. The Power Domain a Legendary Mage excelled at most was that of Concepts. No matter their school of magic, a Legendary Mage was invariably skilled at extracting and manipulating Concepts.

A Mad Witch’s special ability, in turn, was deeply imbued with the Concept of a Mad Witch—that is, the Concept of an Outer God!

Once you seize this ability from a Mad Witch, you also inherit their animosity from the Outer God. And without the Gate of Legends to cover for you, it means the Outer God can strike at you directly!

Of course, for someone at Innis’s level, most Outer Gods were no big deal.

But by the same token, a Mad Witch’s special ability was also no big deal to him. It was a known fact that, aside from rituals involving deals with Outer Gods, any ability transplanted from another individual would have its effectiveness reduced to some degree.

So, it wasn’t worth it.

Although Isaac hadn’t figured out all these convoluted details yet, he quickly composed himself and explained the process and general idea behind his research on the Divine Birth Ceremony.

After hearing Isaac’s explanation, Innis gave him a surprised look. ’This fellow is clearly a Mad Witch, yet he’s far too cautious...’

Generally speaking, whether it was a normal Wizard, a Mad Witch, or even an Arcanist from the lawful alignment, the goal of God Creation was always to create a Deity Servant Demon that they could completely control!

This way, they could wield the might of a Deity without polluting their own Path of Wizardry.

But Isaac, a Mad Witch renowned for his madness, was actually attempting God Creation just to make a friend?

Of course, Innis had to admit that Isaac’s plan, if nothing else, had its safety maxed out. Even if the experiment failed and he couldn’t even make a friend, at least his life wouldn’t be in danger.

Unless you created an Evil God.

”A good idea, but a difficult one.” Innis first nodded in approval, then said to Isaac.

Isaac nodded. He was naturally aware of this. Unlike a low-level life Creation like a Silver Knight, the relationship between an Advanced Creation and its creator was far more complex.

If you were stronger than it, it would temporarily respect you as its father god. But if you were weaker...

It would turn on you in an instant!

A natural-born backstabber—a Lü Bu Plus!

That was why so many Wizards chose the simple and crude method of direct domination.

But difficult didn’t mean impossible, which gave Isaac a bit more confidence.

’If even a powerhouse like Innis thinks there’s hope, it means this path is likely viable. It just depends on whether I can see it through.’

”Since you’re so ambitious, let me give you a little something. I look forward to the day your experiment succeeds.” After speaking, Innis smiled faintly. With a gentle wave of his aged right hand, two Magic Books flew out from the house behind the courtyard and hovered in front of Isaac. One was blood-red, the other pink, and both exuded a bizarre aura.

Isaac’s gaze lingered on the two Magic Books for a moment before he looked up at Innis, his expression puzzled.

”Don’t be nervous. I don’t need you to do anything. Consider this... some support for an outstanding newcomer in the Sect. Rest assured, while the Eldest Princess isn’t as exceptional as you, she also received a little something.” Innis lifted his red tea, took a light sip, and spoke to dispel Isaac’s doubts.

”Is that so? Then, thank you, Senior.” With that, Isaac prepared to take the two Magic Books and leave.

”Wait. First, see if these two are useful to you. If not, I can swap them for something else.”

”Er... that’s too much...” Isaac hesitated. This kindness, coming out of nowhere, made him feel inexplicably uneasy...
