Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 315: Chapter 232: An Overwhelming Pioneering War

In the midst of the high-intensity battle, the Three-eyed Goblin gradually became aware of this.

This led it to mentally abandon the goblin fusion plan. At the same time, it began to feel a sense of anticipation for the Demon Eye between its brows, which was on the verge of another transformation after being constantly scoured by Dimensional Magic Power.

’I hope the change in the Demon Eye’s abilities isn’t related to goblins this time. To keep getting stronger, I can’t stay a goblin!’

With a hint of anticipation, the Three-eyed Goblin once again poured all its energy into the battle. A steady stream of goblins flowed from it onto the battlefield.

Time slowly passed.

Soon, half a month had gone by. The pioneering efforts of the Saint Master and the Three-eyed Goblin, which had started with unstoppable momentum, had now become a difficult slog.

In just half a month, they had managed to carve out an entire Viscount’s Domain for Isaac!

A larger area naturally meant greater pressure. After all, a normal pioneering Viscount could only withstand attacks from the Wilderness by relying on high fortress walls, complex and powerful Magic Barriers, and generations of repeated clearings, leaving the Wilderness Will with the desire to retaliate but not the means.

Yet, the Saint Master and his forces had accomplished this in just half a month. They faced a near-endless Demon Legion without the support of sufficiently thick city walls. It was only natural that the pressure was immense.

In fact, that they hadn’t collapsed yet was a miracle of miracles.

”HUFF... PUFF... HUFF...” On the battlefield, the Saint Master casually tossed aside the corpse of a High-Level Demon Tiger. A hint of fatigue touched his dark golden eyes. While his strength was formidable and his Giant Dragon bloodline granted him immense vitality, even that vitality couldn’t hold up against such prolonged combat.

For the past half a month, aside from the slightly easier first day, he had to face two or more High-level Demons every single day. On one of those days, he even had to fight three High-level Demons simultaneously!

During that fight, if the Three-eyed Goblin’s Demon Eye hadn’t transformed at the critical moment, awakening the bizarre Soul-Devouring Demon Eye and freezing two of the High-level Demons in place, he wouldn’t have been able to brazenly strike them down and reverse the tide of battle.

The pioneering mission might have already failed...

But thankfully, they had endured. And more importantly...

SWOOSH! ℴℴ𝘮

A blade of Sword Qi suddenly shot out from behind, instantly severing the head of a High-level Demon Snake that was in the middle of spewing venom!

”Lord Smith, you’re finally here!” Seeing the Sword Qi, the hard lines of the Dragon-man’s face softened instantly as he let out a huge sigh of relief.

As the Saint Master finished speaking, a slender figure in a black tuxedo appeared beside him. He held a sword in his right hand, surveyed the surroundings, and nodded in approval. ”You’ve done very well. Expanding the territory to this extent in such a short time has exceeded all our expectations, including Lord Isaac’s.”

This was the truth. The Solomon Clan had also risen from pioneering Nobility. Although Isaac had never been involved in such matters due to his physical condition, intelligence on the subject had never been kept from him—not in the past, and certainly not now.

Smith himself had personally participated in the Solomon Clan’s pioneering efforts back in the day. In fact, the old, hidden injuries he carried were from that very campaign.

Therefore, despite being highly confident in their own strength, they had been quite conservative when formulating the plan for this new Pioneer Territory.

So...

...this was why Isaac had been utterly dumbfounded for a moment upon receiving so much feedback from the territory. It took him a while to realize that the Saint Master’s progress was simply too fast!

He had immediately dispatched Smith and the others as reinforcements.

Yes, *others*.

”ROAR!!!”

A flight of Dragons with wings outstretched cast sprawling shadows upon the land. Multi-colored breaths rained down from the sky, instantly engulfing the Demon hordes!

Dragon Witch Lorna!

A gentle breeze swept by, and Lorna, clad in a combat trench coat, appeared beside Smith. With her hands stuffed in her pockets and an indifferent gaze, she looked exceptionally cool and aloof.

Well, it wasn’t actual aloofness. Before she arrived, she had just emerged from a Privilege Magic Barrier Isaac had created specifically for her studies. Her face was completely dazed, as if her brain had been fried by all the Knowledge, making her look rather silly.

But now that she was something of a public figure, she had to maintain her image in front of others. That was why she was putting on this cool and aloof act.

Watching the Dragons circle in the sky, the Saint Master let out a heavy sigh of relief. Now, he truly had nothing to worry about.

The Saint Master then pointed to the nearby Three-eyed Goblin and said to Smith, ”The success we’ve had so far isn’t all my doing. If it weren’t for him, we would have lost days ago.”

Hearing this, Smith glanced at the Three-eyed Goblin and smiled faintly. ”Lord Isaac is aware of all that. You’ve both been outstanding—truly remarkable. So, leave the rest to us.”

The moment he finished speaking, a massive, pitch-black rift tore open in the air behind the Three-eyed Goblin at the center of the Pioneer Territory. A procession of shimmering silver figures emerged, led by a Knight completely encased in silver armor!

Seeing this, the Saint Master’s pupils contracted slightly. He said in surprise, ”The Silver Knight and the Demonic Puppet Legion? They came too? Does this mean the sacrificial ritual is about to begin?”

The Silver Knight was the first Mechanical Body Isaac had activated back in Itra, using the Heart of the Secret Star—an ability from the Master of the Eternal Secret Star. He was incredibly powerful, a master of both Magic and Martial Dual Cultivation. Right from his Activation, he possessed the combat strength of a Tier Two Peak.

If he weren’t pursuing his own path, much like Smith, he would have advanced to Tier Three long ago.

As for the Demonic Puppet Legion, they, like the Silver Knight, were also life forms brought to life by the Heart of the Secret Star. Their unique physical structures granted them a rate of power progression that other beings could scarcely hope to match.

Originally, these Demonic Puppets were in the service of Eldest Princess Philo. However, at their core programming, their loyalty to Isaac was akin to religious Faith.

Thus, once the situation in Itra stabilized, Philo sent the Demonic Puppets back to him at the first opportunity.

Isaac had originally planned to rent these Demonic Puppets to his older brother to earn a commission.

Unfortunately, the quantity was too large and the quality too high. The Solomon Clan’s military budget was tight, so even at the steep discount Isaac offered, they couldn’t afford the lease.

After all, no matter how low the rental fee, the Solomon Clan would have to cover the army’s maintenance costs, and that was the real financial burden.

Besides, the Solomon Clan’s military was already at full strength. Any further expansion would only attract the Empire’s suspicion.

This had nothing to do with past grievances; it was simply the inherent tension between a liege and their vassal.

So, Isaac had no choice but to absorb them himself. Of course, his own small operation couldn’t possibly support so many Demonic Puppets. He carefully selected a portion of them to form his Demonic Puppet Legion, whose strength was second only to his Great Sword Ghost Legion!

After all, while it was convenient to increase the strength of the Demonic Puppets, it was also a massive money sink—a *very* massive one!

That was why all of them were only at Tier One. Of course, they made up for it in numbers—a staggering five thousand strong!

Five thousand Tier One Demonic Puppets were virtually unstoppable on the battlefield!

After all, unlike the Great Sword Ghosts, the Demonic Puppets possessed intelligence and could form battle formations. At the same level and numbers, their combat effectiveness on the battlefield far surpassed that of the Great Sword Ghosts. Moreover, their endurance was significantly greater.

In a way, the Demonic Puppet Legion was already the most elite army under Isaac’s command.

And now, even they had been dispatched...

”We can talk later. Lord Isaac will be here shortly,” the Silver Knight said in an icy tone, landing first beside the Dragon-man. ”For now, let’s clean up this mess. We wouldn’t want it to offend Lord Isaac’s eyes.”

With that said, the Silver Knight waved his hand. Clusters of Magic Flames erupted from behind the Demonic Puppet Legion hovering in the air, which then instantly surged toward the battlefield!

With the Dragons and the Demonic Puppet Legion working in concert, the number of Demons on the battlefield dwindled rapidly. The Three-eyed Goblin watched it all unfold, slowly clenching its fists. All three of its eyes burned with unwillingness...

’I want to serve His Excellency Isaac like that, too...’
